  • Patent number: 10421021
Abstract: A system for providing guidance of a ride vehicle on a track of a park ride, e.g., a vehicle or car of a roller coaster, that is adapted to provide side guide wheel suspension with a design that requires significantly less maintenance than the traditional pin and bushing configuration. The system includes a side guide assembly includes two spring members, which may each take the form of a leaf spring, that are directly mounted to the main support of the bogie assembly (e.g., the load wheel assembly, the up stop assembly, and the support frame of the bogie assembly). The spring members are adapted to provide anchor points for the side guide wheel shafts that each side guide wheel is mounted onto for rotation. When the spring members are leaf springs, the eyes of each leaf spring may form the anchor points or shaft supports for the wheel rotation shafts.

  • Patent number: 10022639
Abstract: A model vehicle control device and method to realize section block control with high extensibility, which can flexibly support various layouts. A section determination unit determines whether a preceding vehicle exists in a section that a vehicle is about to enter. An entry condition determination unit determines, when the vehicle is about to enter a section with constraint, whether a current state in the section satisfies an entry condition. When the current state of the section with constraint does not satisfy the entry condition, a section control unit does not allow entry of a target vehicle to the section, regardless of a determination result of the section determination unit, until the section becomes a state that satisfies the entry condition.

In one embodiment, the roller assembly includes a frame adapted for attachment to the switch rail and having a pocket formed therein, and an elastomer assembly, at least a portion of which is slidably disposed within the pocket. The elastomer assembly includes a roller wheel and an elastomeric block. The roller wheel travels along the surface of a tie plate when the switch rail is moved between positions. The elastomeric block is adapted to compress under a load applied to the switch rail in the direction of the tie plate, causing the roller wheel to retract in the direction of the pocket. When the weight of a train is exerted on the roller assembly, the compression of the elastomeric block causes the train to ride fully on the rails, just as if the roller assembly were not present. When no weight is exerted on the roller assembly, the roller assembly assists the switch to move freely between positions.

Abstract: A personal rapid transit (PRT) system comprising a very economic triple rail topology for bi-directional urban personal transport. All the ramps are implemented on the one side of the tracks matching the narrow urban spaces. To achieve fast speed, stable direction changes, and a non-compromised passenger security, the ramps are implemented as parallel lines to the corresponding tracks, and the vehicles do not use any wheel steering. Instead, a landing wheel gear is implemented. The vehicle's center of mass is constantly kept in one plane with the guideways. In case of emergencies, a special “anti-fall down” security system holds the vehicle on the rails. The vehicles make turns using the highly compact Direction Change Connector. The PRT control system is implemented as three layer hierarchical system of fault-tolerant processor nodes, and utilizes two channel wireless communications between the layers.

The borate-based additive provides corrosion protection through electrochemical binding of active surface corrosive sites, lubrication enhancement through the creation and re-supply to a surface where friction contact occasionally occurs of a weak slip lane crystalline material which may be a locally formed product utilizing local atmospheric humidity, and a material for reaction with an initiator to provide for freezing point depression during coating application. The dynamic stabilization material creates a balance of stabilized material for supply of corrosion protection product, lubrication reduction product, and freezing point depression product.

  • Patent number: 7757609
Abstract: A magnetically levitated transportation system employs permanent magnet rails along a guideway that interact with permanent magnets on a vehicle. The rails are optimized to reduce magnetic mass and cost of materials, while maximizing lift force. The vehicle is stabilized in the lateral and yaw directions with feedback controlled lateral control coils that interact with the permanent magnet rails on the guideway. A track switching structure employs permanent magnet rails that gradually widen along a segment of track and separate into two identical diverging rails. Feedback controlled lateral control coils in a moving vehicle stabilize that vehicle over one or the other pairs of diverging rails, as directed by a control computer, thereby causing the vehicle to continue along one path or the other, with no moving or active elements required in the track.

Abstract: A guideway and chassis system of wheel-based, rail running vehicles includes a guideway system having substantially horizontal bases, two parallel rails, and mainly vertical guide rails extending along both sides of the rails, with mainly horizontal inward flanges in a vertical distance above the bases. The chassis includes a set of main wheels arranged to run on the rails and a set of guide wheels arranged to bear against the guide rails to ensure the lateral position of the vehicle. The flanges are localized closely above the top side of the guide wheels to restrict the ability of the guide wheels to upward vertical movement. The width of the flanges is sufficiently small so as to not interfere with the main wheels, thereby allowing the top of the main wheels to extend above the horizontal flanges.
