Patent number: 4990267Abstract: An anhydrous preparation for finishing sewing yarn and sewing thread is disclosed. The preparation essentially consists of 65 to 99% by weight of a dimethylpolysiloxane with a viscosity of 50 to 10,000 mm.sup.2 /S.sup.-1 at 25.degree. C. and a hydroxyl content of 0.3 to 1.5% by weight and 1 to 30% by weight of a fatty acid or a fatty amine with, on the average, 8 to 18 carbon atoms and, optionally, 0 to 5% by weight of conventional additives. The preparation are easy to prepare and have an unlimited shelf life and a constant viscosity even over a prolonged period of storage. The preparation confer low thread tension, decreased yarn breakage and improved stick-slip properties on the sewing yarn and thread.Type: GrantFiled: April 18, 1989Date of Patent: February 5, 1991Assignee: Hansa Textilchemie GmbHInventors: Friedhelm Nickel, Sylvia Rodenwald, Hans Rott

Patent number: RE33760Abstract: A pipe thread sealant paste composition comprising from about 30 to about 80 percent by weight of natural flake graphite particles of a size sufficient to pass through a 100 Tyler mesh sieve and a liquid carrier comprising a mixture of mineral oil and petrolatum. The paste composition preferably having a total ash content of no greater than about 1 percent by weight and containing leachable chlorides in amounts equal to or less than about 50 parts per million. The invention also relates to a method for preparing and applying the pipe thread sealant paste to pipe joints.Type: GrantFiled: September 28, 1990Date of Patent: December 3, 1991Assignee: Ucar Carbon Technology CorporationInventor: Ronald A.
