    Abstract: Disclosed are a ?-crystal form nucleating agent composition for polypropylene and an application thereof. The composition is prepared by proportionally mixing barium tetrahydrophthalate, calcium tetrahydrophthalate and the like with adjuvants, such as hydrotalcite or calcium carbonate. The composition has better functions than a single-component ?-nucleating agent. The impact strength of polypropylene subjected to nucleation modification by the ?-crystal form nucleating agent composition can be improved by up to 6 times, and the heat distortion temperature is improved by about 10° C. to 20° C.; in addition, while the impact strength is improved, the flexural modulus of polypropylene can be improved, namely, the rigidity of polypropylene is improved.     Abstract: A method for reducing the abrasion of a silica-containing calcined kaolin pigment by the controlled leaching of silica from the pigment, preferably by the use of a caustic solution to dissolve the silica out of the calcined kaolin. In another aspect of the invention, the brightness, opacity, or both of a calcined kaolin is increased by increasing the fineness of the kaolin feed supplied to the calciner. The combination of these methods results in the production of a calcined kaolin with low abrasion and high brightness and opacity. Another aspect of the invention concerns an improved method of filtration of dilatent materials such as the leached calcined clay.

C. or more, the weight ratio of the colorant to the inorganic substance being in the range of 1:99 to 50:50. By irradiating a shaped, hardened body of the above composition with a laser beam, the colorant is thermally decomposed, so that the color of the irradiated surface is changed and becomes discriminative from that of non-irradiated surface.

    Abstract: A lighting fixture body and a lens, both formed of plastic which generates gas when heated, are bonded together, using a hot melt adhesive with adsorbent mixed therein, thereby preventing foams from residing in the interface between the plastic materials and the hot melt adhesive. The hot melt adhesive is mainly composed of styrene-ethylene-butylene block copolymer, and molecular sieve or other adsorbent having adsorbing cavities is added to the hot melt adhesive. After the hot melt adhesive is filled in the sealing grooves of the lighting fixture body, the anchoring parts of the lens are set in the hot melt adhesive and fastened mechanically with spring pegs. The hot melt adhesive solidifies in the sealing grooves, thereby fixing the lighting fixture body and the lens together.

This additive is based on agglomerates of a smectic laminar silicate coated with divided particles. This detergent additive is characterized in that the agglomerates are at least partially coated with particles of a cation exchanger that will pass through a screen with a mesh of about 45 .mu.m and have an average particle size of less than about 10 .mu.m, where the amount of cation exchanger particles is about 2 to 30 wt % (based on the dry weight of the uncoated agglomerates). This detergent additive may be used in the conventional detergent formulations.
