Plunger Operated Patents (Class 116/160)
  • Patent number: 10260956
Abstract: An apparatus, system and method for a time temperature indicator (TTI) which is capable of providing a summary of the time and temperature history of a good to which it is coupled, optionally including with regard to providing an indication as to whether one or more temperature thresholds have been breached. According to other embodiments, the TTI specifically provides an indication as to whether a temperature threshold at or around the freeze point has been breached, optionally even without providing a time and temperature history.

  • Patent number: 4970490
Abstract: A motor bell alarm comprises an electric motor and a linkage by which the rotational motion generated by an electric motor is translated to a longitudinal oscillating motion so as to cause a plunger coupled to the linkage to cyclically strike a shell, thereby creating a ringing sound. The volume and clarity of the ringing sound are enhanced by minimizing the time in which the plunger is in contact with the shell and by minimizing the rest mass that is in contact with the shell as it is struck by interposing a lost-motion connection between the plunger and the linkage to the electric motor, whereby upon and after striking the shell the plunger is mechanically uncoupled from the lever.

  • Patent number: 4664056
Abstract: A temperature-monitoring and -witnessing device has an at least partially transparent container forming a pair of adjacent chambers at least one of which is substantially closed and formed with a passage between the chambers, a valve including a metallic shape-memory element that deforms from one shape to another shape when cooled to a predetermined transition temperature for blocking the passage when the element is of the one shape and for unblocking the passage when the element is of the other shape, a body of liquid in the one closed chamber and confined therein when the shape-memory element is of the one shape, and a dye or the like in the other chamber capable of coloring the liquid. Thus the liquid will only be colored when the element has deformed to the other shape and the device is below the transition temperature. Normally the liquid has a freezing point generally at the transition temperature.
