Abstract: The present invention relates to a lid for a container holding a flowable substance which comprises a mounting portion to be attached to the container and an opening to remove the flowable substance from the container, whereas the opening is opened and closed by means of a slider which is connected to the lid and rotates around a vertical axis.

Opening of the cover urges a junction member (3) towards a source (4) of a medicament to be released as a dose by pressing a spout (5) of the source inwards of the source. The source is supported by a cap (11) clipped to the end of a source-enclosing barrel (12) with intern al splines (10). The barrel is welded (15) to the main to part (16) of the body at a position determined by the extension of the source towards the distal end (17) of the barrel when the cover is open, the welding position being determined by a plug (18) simulating the cap and its bush.

Abstract: An indicator for a dispenser device, having an actuator element (1) displaceable between a rest position and an actuated position, a rotary counter element (5), and a drive element (6) that transforms an axial displacement of the actuator element into a rotary displacement of the counter element (5). The counter element (5) including a set of teeth (9) that co-operate with a resilient mechanism (7, 8) of the drive element (6). The resilient mechanism (7, 8) having two flexible tabs (7, 8), a first flexible tab (7) co-operating with the teeth (9) causing the counter element (5) to turn in a counting direction while the actuator element (1) is displaced towards its actuated position, and a second flexible tab (8) co-operating with the teeth (9) causing the counter element to turn in the same counting direction while the actuator element (1) returns to its rest position.

Abstract: A date indicator for use with a contact lens case having a base and at least one lens container is disclosed. The indicator comprises a lid to selectively close the at least one contact lens container. A generally annular day wheel has a plurality of day indicators on an upper surface thereof, and is rotatably captured within a cylindrical depression of the lid. A generally circular month wheel includes a plurality of mouth indicators on an upper surface thereof, and is rotatably captured on a central spindle of the lid. A torsion spring is fixed to a spring mounting mechanism of the day wheel. One end of the spring engages a sawtooth-notched wall of the month wheel and the other end of the spring engages a sawtooth-notched wall of the lid. The spring allows the day and month wheels to rotate in one direction together while preventing the day wheel from rotating in the opposite direction.

Abstract: An indicating device suitable for indicating the number of metered dosages that have been dispensed from or remain in a container includes a base member adapted to be mounted to the container and a cap member moveably connected to the base member. The cap member is moveable relative to the base member along an axial path. A shaft is non-rotatably mounted to one of the cap member and the base member and defines an axis. An indicator member is rotatably mounted on the shaft and is rotatable in at least a first direction. One of the shaft and the indicator member has a helical groove while the other of the shaft and the indicator member has a follower disposed in the groove. The indicator member is moveable relative to the shaft along the axis as the indicator member is rotated in the first direction. In another embodiment, the indicating device includes first, second and third indicator members.

Abstract: A dosage reminder device (100) and medication carton (130) includes an indicator/support (140) formed from the carton's flat exterior wall (132) retentively engaging a rotateable ring (110). The ring includes dosage time period indicia (118) establishing (120) a dosage schedule and the indicator includes a co-operating next dose pointer (146) for selecting the next dosage time period so indicated. A patient can rotate the ring to align the next scheduled dosage time period with the indicator pointer. The indicator pointer and the scheduled dosage time period form a reminder indicating when the next dose is due or when the last dose was taken.

Abstract: A method and an apparatus by which rules and record keeping in games employing miniature figures as game pieces are incorporated onto the base of the miniature figures themselves. Counters or wheels keep track of a character's characteristics and how they change as a game progresses. Values can be customized for each character by providing differently numbered wheels for the bases. Also, a method for providing collectable game pieces with varied features by providing them to the consumer concealed in packaging.

Abstract: A closure for a container including an indicator mechanism to record the removal of the closure from the container and a child-resistant mechanism to resist the removal of the closure from the container by a child. A spring in the indicator mechanism urges the indicator mechanism toward the child-resistant mechanism to provide sufficient force to engage the child-resistant mechanism for the attachment of the closure to the container, but not sufficient force to engage the child-resistant mechanism for the removal of the closure from the container, so that an additional external force must be applied to engage the child-resistant mechanism for the removal of the closure from the cap. The additional, external force is also necessary to engage the indicator mechanism, so that the mechanism cannot be inadvertently advanced.

Abstract: An apparatus for indicating line type on a fishing reel having a spool for storing a supply of fishing line and structure for wrapping the fishing line onto the spool to effect retrieval of paid out fishing line. The apparatus includes a rotatable dial or other settable structure on the fishing reel for giving a user a visual indication of which of a plurality of different types of fishing line is on the spool.

Abstract: A reminder device with circular dials similar to the face of a clock for pill and medicine containers is adapted for attaching to a pill bottle or other container. The rotatable dials may be manually set to indicators showing the weekday, date and time for taking a pill or other medicinal dose. The reminder device is disposable and may be pinned to the bottle top or other medicine container or temporarily affixed by means of an adhesive.

Abstract: A storage container includes a base housing having first and second containers mounted to the housing. The base housing includes a cavity therewithin, having a rotatable dial projecting through a first side wall of the housing. The dial includes sequential digits visible through a window in a top wall of the housing, wherein sequential days are counted relative to contact lenses, and particularly disposable contact lenses stored within the first and second containers.

Abstract: An information recording device containing a body in the form of a thin plate having at least one and preferably three wheel wells rotatably receiving an alpha wheel, numeric wheel and a color coded wheel. The first two wheels are mounted in wheel wells formed in the top surface of the body and have portions extending past one of the side edges of the body positioned under windows in the top cover exposing a single letter or number. The third wheel is mounted in a wheel well formed in the bottom surface of the body--overlapping and underlying the first two wheel wells--and also has a portion extending past the other edge of the body. The third wheel contains color segments viewed by window apertures formed in the body and the bottom cover plate covering the other surface of the third wheel. Each wheel well has a rear hollow recess and a flexure cavity thus formed. A flexure strip bridges the cavity behind the line of circumference of the well.

Abstract: A correct answer displaying device for an arithmetic practicing device or the like. Plural chambers are arranged in matrix form with partition boards, and a colored transparent plate is placed over the chambers on which numerical problems to be solved are indicated and through which the configurations of the correct answer numbers cannot ordinarily be observed. Answer levers are operated to cause white plates to come near the lower surface of the colored transparent plate to display the correct answers. The white plates are pivotally mounted about one side thereof in which an engaging step is formed. Each answer lever, which has an engaging protrusion engaged with a respective engaging step, is accommodated in a guide frame in such a manner that the answer lever can pass in and out of the corresponding chamber.

Abstract: A container for pharmaceuticals and the like has a cap-like closure incorporating an indicator disk which is automatically indexed into successive indicating positions each time the container is used by removal and replacement of the closure. The container also has a manually operable rotary reminder wheel on its base. The disk may be used to indicate days of the week and the wheel to indicate hours of the day.

Abstract: In a knitting row counter, a settable member has a projection which can engage in a selected one of a number of recesses in a further member but is expelled from the recess on rotation of the settable member. A finger on the settable member engages in a groove in the further member to retain the members in assembled relation. The settable member flexes resiliently to permit the projection to be withdrawn from the recess.

Abstract: A dialable indicator comprising a lockable enclosure housing a rotatable drum. The outside surface of the drum is contoured to define a plurality of tag-holding stations. A window in the hinged cover of the enclosure allows viewing of one tag-holding station. The drum is biased by a coil spring against one side of the enclosure which is provided with a restriction against rotation of the drum. The drum must be pushed sideways against the spring before it can be moved to display an alternate tag-holding station. Spare tags can be stored in cavities running longitudinally within the drum. A locking mechanism mounted on the cover provides a restriction against lateral movement of the drum when the cover is closed.

Abstract: A hand held counter particularly adapted for counting cards during games of Blackjack. The counter includes two lever arms mounted for incremental rotation on a vertical axle in a cylindrical casing. The cylindrical casing includes a circular faceplate having two circularly arced slots. The lever arms are each spring mounted against notches in the cylindrical side wall of the casing and have positioning pins extending through a respective one of the slots. The lever arms may be incrementally rotated in an arc defined by the limits of the slot by using the thumb of the hand holding the counter to push the positioning pins. Position pins arrayed along the outer circumferences of the slots permit the user to tactilely identify the relative positions of the positioning pins of the levers and to thereby identify the counts being made.

Abstract: A dial type indicator in which the zero point on a scale fixed to a rotatable tubular outer frame can be set to the position of the pointer by rotating the outer frame around a circular inner frame. An elastic element at one side of the inner frame is pressed against the inner peripheral face of the outer frame by compressing the element in the thickness direction of the inner frame, using a manually adjustable arrangement to compress the element and cause it to extend laterally. In this manner the inner and outer frames can be reliably fastened together without damage to the outer frame and the operability of the outer frame is improved.

Abstract: A device for keeping a golf score comprises two flat panels fastened to provide a space in between. The first face is equipped with nine horizontal slots, numbered 1 to 9 and the second face an equal number of slots numbered 10 to 18 representing the holes on a golf course. Indicating runners or slides operate in these slots which are equipped with stops providing spaces and numbers from 0 to 10 for each slot representing the number of strokes per hole. Indicating slots are of novel construction so as to be easily moveable and yet may be readily arrested and held in place opposite the number corresponding to the strokes taken by the player. Numbered wheels are provided for totalizing the score as the game progresses.
