    Abstract: A substrate lift bar includes: an outer lift bar which is in shape of a box structure and includes one surface having an opening; an inner lift bar which is able to be accommodated in the outer lift bar and includes a supporting surface used for supporting a substrate; an elevator structure for controlling the inner lift bar to move up and down to change from a first state to a second state and back again; and an anti-static liquid smearing structure for smearing an anti-static liquid onto the inner lift bar if the inner lift bar is in the first state. In the first state, the inner lift bar is completely located inside the outer lift bar, and in the second state, the supporting surface of the inner lift bar is substantially flush with the surface having the opening of the outer lift bar.

    Abstract: A paper coater includes a frame, an entry guide roll and an exit guide roll both carried by the frame and along a path of travel of a continuous paper sheet. The paper coater includes independently controllable hot wax applicators carried by the frame between the entry and exit guide rolls. Each independently controllable hot wax applicator includes a press roll, an engraved applicator roll opposite the press roll so that the continuous paper sheet is therebetween, and with the engraved applicator roll extending into a hot wax reservoir to pick up hot wax. Each wax applicator includes a doctor blade adjacent the engraved applicator roll to control a thickness of hot wax. At least one selectively operable positioner relatively moves the press and engraved applicator rolls between active and idle positions. The paper coater provides different wax application rates and can be reconfigured relatively quickly between different application rates.

    Abstract: An apparatus and a method of preparing stacks of individual wet, dripless disposable towels ready for sealed packing. The apparatus includes a creel for rollably supporting a plurality of continuous rolls of disposable towel stock material formed of non-woven cotton cloth and the like. The apparatus in step sequence includes a guide for merging each length of towel stock material together and edgewise aligned after being drawn from each roll to form a web. The web is then drawn through a flood box whereinto a suitable washing and/or dermicidal liquid is pumped to completely saturate the web to produce a liquid saturated web portion. A squeeze roller arrangement positioned immediately adjacent the flood box removes some of the liquid from the saturated wet portion to produce a wet, dripless web portion which uniformly contains a preselected liquid content, depending upon preselected tensioning of the rollers. A collecting tank positioned below the flood box and the squeeze rollers collects excess liquid.

The rows converge and the fillets are pressed together to join the fillets and the cushion material. The pressing preferably occurs at a station where glue is simultaneously applied to other rows of fillets. Each glue applicator has an outwardly-directed face for applying glue to the fillets as they slide by the face, and the face is apertured with a recess which contains glue supplied from a pressured source.
