  • Patent number: 11214894
Abstract: A process for debundling a carbon fiber tow into dispersed chopped carbon fibers suitable for usage in molding composition formulations is provided. A carbon fiber tow is fed into a die having fluid flow openings, through which a fluid impinges upon the side of the tow to expand the tow cross sectional area. The expanded cross sectional area tow extends from the die into the path of a conventional fiber chopping apparatus to form chopped carbon fibers, or through contacting tines of a mechanical debundler. Through adjustment of the relative position of fluid flow openings relative to a die bore through which fiber tow passes, the nature of the fluid impinging on the tow, the shape of the bore, in combinations thereof, an improved chopped carbon fiber dispersion is achieved. The chopped carbon fiber obtained is then available to be dispersed in molding composition formulations prior to formulation cure.

  • Patent number: 10414670
Abstract: The present invention relates to water purification using solar energy. More specifically, systems and methods according to the present invention collect solar energy to heat non-potable water in a super-insulated structure. Compressed heated air is injected to evaporate water vapor out of brackish water, saltwater, or dirty water, thereby creating saturated air. The saturated air is drawn through a cooling tower and distilled water is precipitated. The systems and methods employ heat recovery and recycling processes to maximize energy efficiency.

Abstract: This electrostatic sprayer of coating products with external load, comprises a bowl rotatable about an axis, a turbine for rotating the bowl around this axis, and a plurality of first electrodes distributed around the axis and each capable of emitting, when the sprayer is operating and is at least partly in the direction on an object to be coated, a first ion flux from a first point. The first points are arranged in a first circle centered on and perpendicular to the axis. The sprayer comprises second electrodes each capable of emitting, when the sprayer is operating and mainly or exclusively in the direction of an edge of the bowl, a second ion flux, of the same sign as the first ion flux, from second points arranged in a second circle centered on and perpendicular to the axis, and having a different radius than the first circle.

  • Patent number: 10399169
Abstract: A solder supply device is provided with solder cup housing liquid solder that is tubular and open at one end, a positive/negative pressure supply device capable of controlling the pressure inside the solder cup, a supply nozzle for dispensing solder from the solder cup, and a solder cutting device that cuts solder supplied from the supply nozzle by ejecting compressed air. Solder is supplied from the supply nozzle by increasing the pressure inside the solder cup using the positive/negative pressure supply device. When stopping the supply of solder from the supply nozzle, the pressure inside the solder cup is decreased using the positive/negative pressure supply device, and solder is cut by the solder cutting device to match the timing of pressure inside the solder cup decreasing.

  • Patent number: 10395950
Abstract: A substrate processing apparatus performs: a pressure raising process of raising a pressure within the processing container to a processing pressure higher than a critical pressure of the processing fluid, after the substrate is accommodated in the processing container; and a circulation process of supplying the processing fluid to the processing container and discharging the processing fluid from the processing container while keeping a pressure at which the processing fluid is maintained in the supercritical state, within the processing container. In the pressure raising process, the supply of the processing fluid from the second fluid supply unit is stopped and the processing fluid is supplied from the first fluid supply unit into the processing container until at least the pressure within the processing container reaches the critical pressure. In the circulation process, the processing fluid is supplied into the processing container from the second fluid supply unit.

  • Patent number: 10354872
Abstract: Techniques herein include a bladder-based dispense system using an elongate bladder configured to selectively expand and contract to assist with dispense actions. This dispense system compensates for filter-lag, which often accompanies fluid filtering for microfabrication. This dispense system also provides a high-purity and high precision dispense unit. A meniscus sensor monitors a position of a meniscus of process fluid at a nozzle. The elongate bladder unit is used to maintain a position of the meniscus at a particular location by selectively expanding or contracting the bladder, thereby moving or holding a meniscus position. Expansion of the elongate bladder is also used for a suck-back action after completing a dispense action.
