Method for masking cooling holes and device for using in a masking process for masking cooling holes
Patent number: 8021719Abstract: A method of masking cooling holes of a turbine component, in particular a turbine blade or vane, for a coating process is provided. The component includes an external surface to be coated, at least one internal cavity having an opening towards the outside of the component, and cooling holes extending from the at least one internal cavity to the external surface. The method comprises the steps of: filling the cooling holes with a masking material and hardening the masking material. The masking material, water, is used to fill in the cooling holes. The hardening is done by freezing the water to water ice. A method of coating an external surface of a turbine component and a device for use in a masking process for masking cooling holes in a turbine component are also provided.Type: GrantFiled: February 19, 2009Date of Patent: September 20, 2011Assignee: Siemens AktiengesellschaftInventor: Andreas Graichen -
Patent number: 8020511Abstract: An exemplary film coating holder includes a main body, a plurality of workpiece holders, and a driving module. The main body includes a plurality of through holes defined therein and a central axis. The main body is capable of rotating around the central axis. Each workpiece holder is arranged in each through hole and pivotally connected with the main body by an axle. A rotating guide groove is defined around each axle. The driving module includes a control unit and a shaft. The control unit inserts the shaft in the rotating guide groove of the workpiece holder. When the main body is rotating around the central axis, the shaft can drive the workpiece holder to turn over by the guiding of the rotating guide groove.Type: GrantFiled: December 9, 2008Date of Patent: September 20, 2011Assignee: Hon Hai Precision Industry Co., Ltd.Inventor: Shih-Che Chien
