Abstract: A band saw with a complex coordination of a tilting motion and a translational motion between the workpiece and the band saw blade, so that a curved cut is made in the workpiece. The geometric parameters of the cut can be continuously adjusted. This makes it possible to optimize a contact length of the saw blade in the workpiece, which is an important factor in the cutting process. It is thus possible to saw workpieces made of stone and similar materials that are typically difficult to cut. The cut and the contact length of the saw blade can be tailored individually to each workpiece to be sawed. Thus, workpieces of different geometrical dimensions and different material properties, in particular with different material hardnesses, can be processed using the band saw according to the invention without having to undertake significant changes.

A mounting frame is disposed around the work seat, and defines a rectangular hole therein, which has four sides that are respectively parallel to the four sides of the work seat, and a length and a width that are respectively and slightly larger than those of the work seat. An adhesive sheet has an adhesive top surface with an outer peripheral portion that is adhered to a bottom surface of the mounting frame. The interconnected workpieces are adhered to the top surface of the adhesive sheet so as to be cut while disposed inside the mounting frame.

  • Patent number: 6286905
Abstract: A cutting device for performing a cutting operation, which can reduce wasteful cutting, can easily perform an accurate and neat cutting, and can have a long service life. The cutting device includes a guide supporting member, mounted to a distal end of a working machine on a self-propelled working vehicle in such a manner as to be freely swingable; a guide element, horizontally supported by the guide supporting member; a cutter, mounted to the guide element; a first movement device, for moving the cutter with respect to the guide element; and a second movement device, for moving the cutter in a direction along the guide element. A vibration preventing system can be included. Since the cutter vertically moves at a time of entering, a cutting can be efficiently performed with no wasteful cutting; and since vibration is reduced, the service life is extended.

Abstract: A cutting saw machine has a motor arranged to be installed in a table frame which is used for supporting the cutting table and the coolant tray instead of mounted on the cutting head, so that the cutting head thereof can be made of light material to reduce the overall weight of the machine. Moreover, the motor is positioned below the coolant tray that can prevent direct contact with the user, and that the coolant tray also provides a cool surrounding to the motor that can help the motor to reduce its heat when it is functioning.

  • Patent number: 6216682
Abstract: A cutting apparatus having a chuck table for holding a workpiece and cutting means for cutting the workpiece held by the chuck table. The cutting means includes a spindle unit, a blade to be attached to a rotating spindle of the spindle unit, a cutting-water supplying nozzle for supplying cutting water to the blade and the workpiece, and an air-blowing nozzle provided adjacent to the blade, for supplying air to a peripheral portion of the blade. The cutting-water supplying nozzle and the air-blowing nozzle are provided on a blade cover for covering the blade. Air-blowing piping for feeding air to the air-blowing nozzle is arranged within the spindle unit. Air forced through the air-blowing piping is fed into the air-blowing nozzle, and is blown against the cutting edge of the blade, eliminating cutting water clinging to the cutting edge to carry out setup for adjusting the blade surely and precisely.
