Abstract: A hair-highlighting device has a handle and a reservoir for storing a highlighting composition. The device is adapted to dispense a tape of barrier material and also adapted to simultaneously dispense highlighting composition via a reservoir outlet to a lock of hair. The device comprises a manually operated mechanism to expel highlighting composition from the reservoir such that when the device is in use a user may vary the amount of highlighting composition dispensed from the reservoir by varying the pressure that is applied to the mechanism.

Abstract: An improved sponge apparatus is a body washing sponge device with a liquid soap reservoir, which automatically releases liquid soap in controlled amounts onto the sponge-like material through apertures in the main body, and is able to be used multiple times before refilling the reservoir.

Abstract: An application device applies an active agent to a fibrous material. The application device has a housing defining a storage volume which is arranged in the housing and is intended for storing the active agent, and an applicator. By the applicator, the active agent located in an application volume is applied to the material. In order to make reliable and straightforward application possible, the applicator has an application volume, a number of hollow teeth which are arranged in a comb-like manner and have an upper wall and a lower wall, between which at least part of the application volume is arranged, and also gaps which are located between the teeth and are intended for introducing the material into the application volume.

Abstract: A hair dyeing device includes a handle unit having a connecting section; a hair dye container removably positioned in the handle unit and having a front mouth and a rear zip lock opening; a comb unit including a base and a comb element defining a hollow space each; and an elastic absorbent member positioned in the hollow spaces of the comb unit. One end of the base of the comb unit has a sleeve for detachably fitting in the connecting section of the handle unit to engage with the mouth of the container, and a fastening element is provided on the sleeve for wrapping around the connecting section of the handle unit. The comb element has a rear portion formed into a fixing section for detachably inserting into the base and a front portion formed into upper and lower rows of teeth communicating with the second hollow space.

Abstract: A dye applicator including a head with a cavity (reservoir) and a plurality of bristles in the form of pins each covered with a sponge sleeve extending into the cavity and moistened with a catalyzed dye in the cavity by capillary action. A handle is connected to the head and includes a first container for receiving a dye compound, a second container for receiving a catalyst compound, a pump for each container, and a mixing chamber with a threaded compartment connected to the head cavity on one end, connected to the first container on the other end, and connected to the second container by a manifold for distributing the catalyst throughout the threaded compartment of the mixing chamber. A solenoid is positioned to actuate both pumps to deliver the dye and the catalyst separately to the mixing chamber and to deliver the mixed catalyzed dye to the head cavity.

Abstract: Disclosed are topical leave-on cosmetic compositions, including packaged leave-on compositions, for direct application to the scalp, comprising a) from about 40% to about 99% by weight of a volatile liquid, b) from about 0.005% to about 20% by weight of a skin active agent, and c) from about 0.1% to about 20% by weight of a moisturizing material, preferably a liquid humectant. The composition is a leave-on formulation that is substantially free of cleansing surfactants and is applied directly to the scalp. Also disclosed are methods of treating the scalp by directly applying the topical composition to the scalp. It has been found that the compositions and methods of the present invention can provide improved scalp moisturization and improved deposition of an anti-dandruff or other skin active agent on the skin, without unduly affecting hair cosmetics.

The second body member has a flange for engagement with a treatment fluid supply at a first end and a second treatment surface proximate a second end. A fluid path extends through the body from proximate the flange to a plurality of apertures on the second treatment surface. The first and second elements are hingeably engaged to allow the first and second treatment surfaces to be brought into proximity each other.

Abstract: A fluid dispensing comb for applying a fluid to the hair has a body upon which a plurality of teeth are formed such that they are configured to have a V-shape, thereby defining a groove. An absorbent pad is disposed within the groove defined by the teeth and functions as a reservoir and application means for containing and dispensing a fluid such as hair oil, coloring, or conditioner to the hair. The absorbent pad is preferably replaceable and may be inserted into the groove of the teeth from the end of the comb, from the top of the comb, or alternatively by pivoting the teeth along a living hinge, formed at the apex or one end thereof. Alternatively, the absorbent pad may be permanently molded into the groove of the teeth. A cuff may optionally be disposed upon the comb to catch and/or absorb excess fluid which would otherwise tend to drip therefrom.

The body has opposed surfaces with the surface on one side having teeth arranged in a more open or less dense pattern than the teeth on the opposite surface. The teeth on each face pass through a non-woven fabric sheet of water absorbant material with inner ends of the teeth seated in recesses in the inner body of the head of the brush. The non-woven fabric on one surface of the brush is isolated from the non-woven fabric on the other face so that its water absorbing function is isolated from the fabric on the other surface.

Abstract: A dispenser for multicomponent hair-cosmetic products, such as hair-dyeing preparations, includes in one embodiment a tubular element including absorbent material in separate storage compartments for each product component, respectively, and a plurality of tines of absorbent material partially inserted into the storage compartments for transferring the components by capillary action from the storage compartments into the tines, where the components are mixed and immediately thereafter available for transfer from the tines to hair to be dyed.
