Abstract: This invention is a unique “split” comb, fitted with moveable teeth, giving said comb the ability to cut any hair, that happens to fall between the teeth of said comb, at the touch of an activating button, located near the handle of said comb, making it a “hair-cutting” comb. It is easily manipulated, using one hand only, it can lift the hair to a ninety degree angle to the scalp, slide outward to the desired length of the hair, and then cut the hair, eliminating the use of a pair of scissors, making it possible for the average individual to look in a mirror, and cut his or her own hair, also making it much easier for a professional barber or beautician to cut and style hair, while almost eliminating the use of scissors.

Abstract: A curling iron includes a concave clamping member having a lateral straight edge and an opposite lateral comb edge. The clamping member is adapted to mate with a curling rod when the curling iron is in a closed position. The straight edge of the clamping member is substantially parallel to the comb edge. The comb edge includes a plurality of uniformly spaced combing teeth. A pair of pivotally attached handles enable opening and closing of the curling iron. The clamping member may be removable and reversible. During curling, the curling iron may be rotated so that either the straight edge or the comb edge moves towards the hair and engages and styles the hair. During curling, the hair may be compressed between the clamping member and the rod. The curling iron may then be rotated on the lateral straight edge to form a solid barrel curl.

Abstract: The present invention is a curling iron accessory that is used to protect sensitive areas, such as ears, forehead, neck and scalp, from painful hot iron burns and burn scars that are often the result of using heated hair devices such as curling irons and straightening irons. The present invention is a wearable, expandable, adjustable comb, which holds the ears down painlessly while the consumer uses both hands to curl her hair. Another aspect of the invention also consist of two separate burn protector combs, included within a kit; one being an adjustable comb to protect the hairline areas of the head, scalp and neck and the other a small companion comb that protects the scalp in areas that the expandable comb does not reach such as the crown or the head.

Abstract: A finishing comb designed to meet the grooming needs of men is disclosed. The finishing comb has an elongated body having three parallel rows of bristles extending from end to end from the bottom surface of the body. The rows of bristles are a combination of natural bristles and synthetic bristles arranged so that the synthetic bristles penetrate the hair pack and the natural bristles distribute the natural sebum of the hair along the lengths of the hair shafts. In one embodiment, the center row of bristles comprises synthetic bristles and the outer rows of bristles comprise tufts of natural bristles. In an alternative embodiment, the inner row of bristles comprises tufts of natural bristles and the outer rows of bristles comprise synthetic bristles.

Abstract: A hair pick comprising an elongated base member made from a material which is both flexible and resilient. A plurality of teeth project from an upper side of the base member. Finger engagement means is provided on the lower side of the base member, approximately midway between the base member's ends. Transversely oriented finger gripping means are provided on each of the base ends, having portions extending above and below the base member. With the base member in an unflexed state, the axes of the teeth are substantially parallel. When the hair pick is gripped, forces may be applied through the combination of the finger engagement means and the finger gripping means to flex the base member causing the teeth to be reoriented either into a converging closed position or a diverging open position.

The system comprises a hair care instrument including a mounting base having opposing sides each defining a mounting portion in its cross-section. The base includes a proximal end. A first implement is removably connected to at least one of said opposing sides of said base. A handle is provided having an interface edge, the interface edge is adjacent the proximal end of the base, wherein the handle is removably connected to the proximal end of the mounting base.

Abstract: A device for removing lice and nits from affected hair and scalp of an individual, has first and second movable blades, the first blade including a plurality of first saw teeth, the second blade including a plurality of second saw teeth, and means for movably retaining the first and second blades parallel and adjacent to one another with their respective first and second teeth in opposition and parallel planes along their respective longitudinal axes, whereby the blades can be selectively moved toward one another to cause their teeth to mesh together with hairs captively held therebetween, the first and second teeth being configured to thereafter provide via combing a scraping action against the entrapped hairs for removing lice and nits therefrom.

Abstract: A hair combing apparatus, which is adapted for applying a colorant on a user's hairs, includes an elongated comb body having a handle portion and a guiding portion extended therefrom to define a guiding wall on the guiding portion, a plurality of combing teeth transversely and spacedly extended along a bottom edge of the guiding wall, and a plurality of brush members upwardly and spacedly extended along each of the combing teeth for contacting with the hairs of the user. Therefore, when the colorant is applied on the brush members, the user is able to slide the combing teeth from a scalp of the user at a position slightly above roots of the hairs until ends of the hairs to guide the hairs of the user in 3-dimensionally contact with the brush members so as to evenly apply the colorant throughout the entire hairs.

Abstract: A hair cutting guide, for use by a hairdresser in cutting the hair of a person using scissors, having a pair of guide halves that are hingeably attached and selectively enter an open position and a closed position. Each of the guide halves have a plurality of teeth arranged along its longitudinal edges. The teeth have an inner surface that face the inner surfaces of the teeth in the other guide halve when the guide is in the closed position. Combs extend perpendicularly to the inner surfaces such that hair is extended transversely between the longitudinal edges and is held in place by the combs when the guide is closed. Straight cutting and point cutting is carried out by cutting with the scissors adjacent to the teeth along one of the longitudinal edges when the guide is in the closed position.

Abstract: A hair-band comb fastener and method for securing sections of hair of a human being. The apparatus comprises a retaining comb with an attaching member toward an end of the comb base and a resilient band attached toward the other end of the comb base. The resilient band has an attaching means for mating with the attaching member on the comb base. Whereby, the comb can be placed in the user's hair, a hair section can be placed in front of the comb, the band can be stretched across the hair section, and the attaching member on the band can be secured to the attaching member on the comb base.

Abstract: A self-analysis hair density measuring device comprises a housing body with a calibrated gauge element movably affixed to one side of the housing body. There are at least two or preferably three movable pronged tines extending from within the proximal end of said housing body with a gear or pivot mechanism disposed within the housing body that operatively connects the tines with the gauge. There is also a flexible, handle extending from the distal end of the housing body that is numerically calibrated with a flexible, tapered distal tip. Using a minor, the tines may be used to measure the width of one's part which, over time, may indicate whether the part is widening or narrowing and thereby is directly indicative of the rate of hair loss and/or regrowth. The flexible handle is wrapped around the user's ponytail or mane and is directly indicative of hair density.

Abstract: A braid removal tool has a comb, a strap, and a plurality of prongs. The strap is used to fasten the comb to a user's thumb. To remove a section of braids, a user first engages prongs with braids by grasping a section of unbraided hair between an index finger and the comb. Once the prongs are engaged with braids, use a downward motion and comb braids toward a hair end. Repeat this procedure until braids are completely removed. The tool may be worn on the thumb of a second hand to assist the second hand in grasping the braids to prevent excessive pulling on a scalp during combing.

Abstract: A hair styling comb which has a conventional comb portion and from which extends a double tang assembly, the tangs are of unequal length, are normally separated and are biased to resist movement toward one another but are slidably compressed together by a sliding compression member permanently attached to the comb. The compressible tangs are used to grip portions of hair for curling. After a curl is formed, the compression member is released and the tangs are then withdrawn from the cornroll. The device is easily constructed using plastic forming techniques and provides a useful tool for forming cornrolls or other tightly rolled curls. The double tangs are enclosed by a protective cylindrical cover when the user simply wants to use the conventional comb portion.

For treating teeth, the generator will generally be chosen to generate an oxidizing agent such as a peroxide, ozone, oxygen, or mixtures thereof. When the generator requires it, the brush will also include a battery and a switch associated with the stem and in electrical contact with the generator. The switch may be associated with the first stem end and will be in operable (e.g., electrical) contact with the electrochemical gas generating cell and the battery.

The plate body has an inner acting face on which the elastic clip is secured using bolts. The left and right tracks on the plate body are provided with left and right limiting grooves each having a stop boss. A comb strip is also included that is pivotally coupled to the retainer unit of the base plate. The comb strip has longitudinal rows of teeth and is displaceable between a first position, in which the comb strip is closed on the base plate and retained thereto by the clamping plate, and a second position in which the cob strip is extended out of the base plate and secured in the extended position by the clamping plate for cleaning and smoothing the hair.

Abstract: An adjustable hair holder and method for same allows attractive, stylish hair retention comprising a comb, a restraint member, and a fabric or similar flexible midsection forming a pouch connecting the comb and restraint such that the restraint can secure a ponytail, the ponytail can be substantially surrounded and retained within the flexible midsection pouch, and the comb is placed at substantially the base of the ponytail to secure the hair in a fashionable, reliable holder. The pouch preferably includes elastic sides which secure the hair in a snug fashion which allows the invention to be utilized in health-conscious and safety-conscious environments such as food service establishments, hospitals, high-technology manufacturing facilities, etc.

Abstract: Several small-size mustache shaving devices, each grippable between a user's forefinger and thumb, for enabling the user to precisely shave and edge his own mustache to a desired shape, and related trimming accessories, are disclosed. Each device is lightweight and has as an elongated narrow body having a forward head portion and an integral offset rear fingertip grip portion. Each device has a small elongated razor blade strip mounted upon the head portion. The blade's razor sharp edge, which in some designs is straight and in other designs is curved, extends laterally outwardly from the head portion. The razor-sharp blade edge of the device is placed by the user against his skin adjacent the periphery of the desired mustache line and then, through fingertip movement, shaves and shapes the hairs of the user's mustache. The several embodiments of the shaving device include guarded, blunted and assembled blade designs, all-metal designs, and designs featuring a symmetrical appearance.

Abstract: A method of introducing therapeutic, cosmetic, and dyeing agents in buffer medium created by the electrophoretic flow of these solutions into the hair. The result is to increase the therapeutic effect of treatments for the hair including hair growth and regeneration. Other results include the even and stable dyeing of hair due to the increased adhering properties created through the electrophoretic device and the solutions used with it. These solutions include, but are not limited to, those dyeing and therapeutic agents which do not readily stick to the hair or those which may form unstable compounds.

The pair of combs can be moved laterally relative to one another the teeth of one comb can be moved into and out of engagement with the adjacent teeth of the other comb. By moving the teeth into engagement, hair can be held in position away from the scalp while blow drying so that the hair between the scalp and the comb teeth can be dried while in the upstanding position to provide lift to hair styles.

Abstract: A hair coloring applicator formed as a unitary, monolithic structure having an applicator portion, an intermediate portion and a pick portion is provided. The applicator portion is provided with a spoon for scooping hair coloring materials and a rounded head for spreading the material into the hair. One side of the applicator portion is provided with a serrated edge with ridges for lightly scratching the hair shaft to enable even distribution of the hair coloring materials. The other side of the applicator portion is thicker and provides a comb having a plurality of teeth which aid in spreading the materials and detangling the hair. The intermediate portion connects to one end of the applicator portion and includes a handle and guard portions on both sides of the handle. The pick portion extends in a tapered manner from one end of the intermediate portion and provides a mechanism for the user to section and weave hair during a hair coloring procedure.

Abstract: A thin, flat miniature cosmetic kit made of plastic and designed to hold in separate compartments a one-day supply of perfume, lipstick and face powder and an applicator for the cosmetics. The cosmetic kit has a self-locking cover which when closed prevents the scattering or loss of the cosmetics when the kit is closed and locked.
