Abstract: A cordless hair styling tool, method and system of same including a heated base unit, a plurality of hair rollers heated within the base unit, and a wand detachably engageable to the heated rollers. The rollers have an exterior surface, a clamping means mounted to the exterior surface for permitting clamping of the hair to be styled, and an interior cavity having a locking recess. The wand has a handle portion and an engaging member extending co-axially from the handle portion for detachably engaging with the locking recess of the roller. The wand has a clamping lever pivotally connected to the handle portion for coupling with the clamping means. The wand has a releasing means for detaching the wand from the roller. A spring locking mechanism having a spring element is interposed between the clamping lever and clamping means for opening and closing the clamping means.

The heating structure can comprise an elongated electrical heater having opposed sides, a plurality of thermally conductive heating elements in pairs on each side of the electrical heater, and a thermal insulator between the heating elements separating the heating elements from each other.

Abstract: Hairstyling appliance comprising a grasping means (2), a body (3) for winding a lock of hair around its longitudinal axis, the winding body containing an electric heating element and comprising an external hair-winding surface (5) extending along substantially its entire length, a clip (7) for hooking the lock of hair onto the winding body (3) and an electric motor for driving the winding body in rotation around its longitudinal axis. According to the invention, it includes at least one heating plate (9, 10) disposed facing the external surface (5) of the winding body (3), which plate is movably mounted with respect to the winding body so as to exert pressure on the lock of hair.

Abstract: An improved hair styling device with heating elements and heat retaining clips inside the device's housing. The clips present double concave inner faces, and form an enclosed space when in a closed position. A heat retaining element with an elevated heat capacity is incorporated into the clips adjacent the inner surface of the jaws of the clips; and also presents a double concave surface to the inside of the clips when in a closed position. The heating elements are made up of elongated heating rods with multiple heating locations along their length. Each heating location has an enlarged double convex area on the surface of the heating rods. The heating locations are complimentary to the shape of the heat retaining element, and therefore heat the clips quickly and evenly.

Abstract: An integrated hot air hair styling device with a hair care segment or a hair care segment attachable to a hair dryer is disclosed. The hair care segment has the following sections: Two articulated arms having substantially complementary facing surfaces forming a first hair styling gap. A flow channel for conducting the air stream from the hot air blower to the hair care segment and into at least one of the arms. Air escape openings connected with flow channel(s) in the arm(s). A curved outer surface on an arm with air escape openings. A hair styling finger with a complementarily curved surface is pivotably mounted to the arm with the curved surface, and extends longitudinally with this arm, forming a second hair styling gap between this arm and the hair styling finger. A brush attachment can be placed over both of arms, with air escape openings between its bristles.

Abstract: A hair styling device comprising a handle having a first curler-interlocking element, a heatable curler, a second curler-interlocking element, and a clamp attached to the handle and extending therefrom. The clamp is adapted to grasp hair between the clamp and the curler. The clamp, the first interlocking element, and the second interlocking element are adapted to cooperatively secure the curler removably to the handle. Various embodiments for the interlocking elements are provided. The hair styling device may be part of a hair styling system further comprising a plurality of curlers and a heater for heating the curlers. There is also provided a method for curling hair with the hair styling system described.

Abstract: A hair styling device comprising a handle having a first curler interlocking element, a heatable curler having a second curler interlocking element, and a clamp attached to the handle and extending therefrom. The clamp is adapted to grasp hair between the clamp and the curler. The curler has a non-conductive upper rim with a cutaway portion. The clamp, the first interlocking element, and the second interlocking element are adapted to cooperatively secure the curler removably to the handle. Various embodiments for the interlocking elements are provided. The hair styling device may be part of a hair styling system further comprising a plurality of curlers and a heater for heating the curlers. There is also provided a method for curling hair with the hair styling system described.

Abstract: A heatable hair clip that has a pair of normally closed jaws that can be opened by the user gripping finger grips at the end of the clip opposite the jaws. Inside of the jaws are heatable plates that are mounted for universal movement so that they can be positioned over and around U-shaped hair curlers which the user employs to curl the hair in a desired configuration. Small clips are used to hold the hair in place on the curler, and the heated clips are then placed over the curler and small clips to set the hair. An electric heating unit is used to heat the heatable plates of the clips until they are applied to the hair.
