Abstract: Described herein are embodiments of a yarn-carrying and dispensing apparatus. The embodiments described allow knitters to easily transport, carry and use balls of yarn for knitting and other knitting materials. The embodiments prevent the ball of yarn from rolling away or getting tangled or intertwined. The embodiments also easily and smoothly dispense the yarn, making the knitting more efficient and easier for the knitter. The embodiments provide additional elements to accommodate a knitter: (i) a ruler allowing, for example, to measure a knitting sampler; (ii) a needle gauge and needle openings, allowing, for example, to measure the size of a needle; and (3) an insert allowing, for example, to hold one or more balls of yarn.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a mirror assembly for use by an individual, the mirror assembly comprising:—a base unit (4) having a user fastening (6) for releasably fastening the base unit to a user; and a mirror unit (1) connected to the base unit by an arm member (2,3), the arm member being deployable to move the mirror unit away from the base unit, wherein the arm member is formed of first and second limbs, hingedly coupled together. The present invention further concerns a strap for use with such an assembly.

Abstract: A casing for a cosmetic article has a base having an inner surface which accommodates a mirror. A lid is rotatably and directly mounted to the base, the lid being rotatable, relative to the base, between a closed position and an opened position. An intermediate tray is located between the base and the lid for accommodating the cosmetic article and covering the whole base, the intermediate tray being slidably mounted to the base so as to be movable relative to the base between a retracted position, in which the intermediate tray substantially covers the inner surface of the base, and an extended position, in which the intermediate tray exposes the inner surface of the base. The intermediate tray being further rotatably or slidably mounted to the lid so as to be movable relative to the lid. Rotation of the lid from the closed position to the open position causes the tray to slide from the retracted position to the extended position.

Abstract: A pop-up mechanism for use with a bag so that when operated by a user, a decorative object pops up from a hidden position within the bag to a position clearly in view. A twistable circular band is held within a sleeve at the top of the bag. The band has attached thereto at least one finger tab, and a pivotal post having an end to which the decorative object is attached. When the finger tab is operated, the band twists and thereby pivots the post and the decorative object from the hidden position to the viewable position.
