  • Patent number: 6394099
Abstract: The present invention relates to an aesthetically appealing nail file/buffer comprising a core with an abrasive surface on at least one side of the core and a durable, decorative pattern or design. Preferably, the tool has a core which includes a substantially rigid substrate and at least one layer of resilient material laminated to the substrate. Abrasive material is adhered to at least one side of the core, and glitter may be mixed with the abrasive material. The tool preferably includes materials, such as substantially transparent plastics or gels, possibly with colored pigment, which create a unique, attractive nail file. The tool typically includes a colored pattern, preferably by embedding dyes into the hiatused abrasive surface of the tool using sublimation. Alternatively, the tool may incorporate a patterned sheet under the abrasive material, the abrasive material being composed of substantially clear materials allowing the pattern to show therethrough.

  • Patent number: 6363944
Abstract: A device for removing callouses, especially in chiropody, is provided. A functional element is exchangeably arranged on a handle. To make mounting easy and safe, the functional element can be clamped between a front mounting segment of the handle and a fastening element that is articulated on the mounting segment. In a first position, the fastening element is pivotable about a pivot axis that runs perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the handle. In a second position, the fastening element is displaceable relative to the handle via guides provided on the mounting segment. The fastening element can be fixed in a positive manner to the mounting segment by being displaced in the direction toward a rear handling segment of the handle.

  • Patent number: 6302117
Abstract: A nail file formed by providing an inner helical spring and an outer helical spring in a cover set; wherein, the outer helical spring is slipped over the inner helical spring to form an elastic inner filing member with an elastic toothed surface of multiple layers and bent to form a shape of an arciform new moon. The cover set is made of elastoplastics and includes an upper cover and a lower cover both in the shape of an arciform new moon. A user can press the cover set and the elastic inner filing member therein for elastic stretching and retracting the gaps in the elastic toothed surface of the elastic inner filing member, and can adjust the spaces of the gaps by screwing or unscrewing of a screw to suit filing of nails of various thickness at the positions of the outer and inner sharp edges to get rid of rough edges on the nails. Thereby efficiency, convenience and smoothness of nail filing can be largely increased.

  • Patent number: 6302118
Abstract: A fingernail stimulator for stimulating the fingernails and fingertips includes at least one plate having at least one portion with a rough substantially non-abrasive surface thereon. In a first embodiment, the device further includes a triangular-shaped stand for holding the at least one plate in an upright position. In a second embodiment, the plate is place substantially flat and the fingernails moved against the rough substantially non-abrasive surface in a brisk back and forth motion. In a third embodiment, the substantially flat plate is oscillated by a coupled plate driver while the fingernails remain substantially motionless on the rough, substantially non-abrasive surface. The oscillating motion of the substantially flat plate provides the necessary beneficial friction against the fingernails. A method for using the fingernail stimulator is also provided.
