Abstract: Apparatus for monitoring the rotation of the spraying arms of a trolley (10) for holding objects to be cleaned. The trolley may be introduced into the spraying compartment (40) of a cleaning machine for utensils arranged on the individual tiered levels (11) of the trolley (10). The rotational axis (B) of the spraying arms of the trolley (10) in the spraying compartment (40) are offset from the center plane (A) of the spraying compartment (40). On side walls of the spraying compartment (40), sensor tubes (51) are arranged, in which a number of magnetic detectors (53, 54) assigned to a possible rotational plane of a spraying arm (3) are arranged. This detection range encompasses the rotational plane of an individual spraying arm (3) and the area immediately above and immediately below it. Magnets (52) are arranged at the ends of the spraying arms (3) to actuate the magnetic detectors (53, 54).

The rinsing and drying apparatus has a group of nozzles that are offset from a longitudinal axis of a probe passage and may be inclined and oriented to provide tangentially oriented fluid-jet trajectories exiting into the sample probe passage. The offset nozzles, nozzle orientation, and cavity geometrical features of the device permit the drying capacity of probe-impinging planar air-knife jets to be maximized by stabilizing local internal fluid movement to form a swirling (e.g., helical) gas flow field directed away from a drying region and toward a vacuum exhaust. The rinsing and drying apparatus eliminates rinse water re-circulated entrainment and up-wash (spitting) during the air-knife drying operation. Abstract: Methods and apparatus for removing condensed metal from the surfaces of metal processing chambers, such as, vacuum induction melting (VIM) furnaces having, for example, condensed Mg or Ti, are disclosed. The methods and apparatus provide a robotic arm end positioned in the furnace having a nozzle operatively connected to a source of dry ice. The robotic arm end directs a stream of dry ice particles against the surface of the furnace to displace condensed metal. The displaced metal is collected for reuse or disposal. Aspects of the invention provide a safe and automated process for cleaning process chambers and recovering metal that can typically be dangerous when performed by conventional methods.

Abstract: Embodiments of the invention are directed to pool cleaning devices adapted to simultaneously couple to a telescopic pole and a nozzle of a hose at separate openings, respectively. In one embodiment, the pool cleaning device comprises a primary component having a tubular configuration and terminating in an angled configuration therewith. A secondary component is in fluid communication with a medial portion of the primary component and angled at between 15° and 30° relative to the primary component. The secondary component is coupled to a ball valve for restricting or allowing the flow of water through the device. When a telescopic pole and a hose are simultaneously coupled to the separate openings on the primary component and the secondary component, respectively, the device may be use to create high pressure flow to clean submerged surfaces or water surface debris with little effort exerted by the user.

Abstract: A high pressure rotary nozzle having a rotating shaft operating within a fixed housing wherein the of axial force which acts upon the shaft due to the fluid pressure at the shaft inlet is balanced by allowing passage of a small amount of the pressurized fluid to be bled to an area or chamber between the outside of the opposite end of the shaft and the inside of the housing where the fluid pressure can act axially in an opposing direction upon the shaft to balance the axial inlet force. The balance of axial forces is self-regulating by controlling escape of the fluid through a tapered or frusto-conical region between the shaft and housing. This further provides a fluid bearing between the two surfaces and allows use of interchangeable rotating jet heads having jet orifices which can be oriented in virtually any desirable configuration including axially forward of the nozzle.
