A solvent is present to form a solution of the oil and resin. A coating is imparted to an applicator that in turn can transfer the coating as a hydrophobic film. The coating composition is stable and able to impart hydrophobic film even after storage for several weeks at elevated temperature. The coating composition does so through the exclusion of synthetic waxes especially including silicone waxes. A kit is also provided that includes a wiper blade having the above coating composition applied along with instructions for the securement of the wiper blade to a vehicle to impart the hydrophobic film to a vehicle windshield contacted by the wiper blade.

Abstract: A substrate cleaning apparatus performs scrub cleaning of a surface of a substrate with an elongated cylindrical roll cleaning member. The substrate cleaning apparatus includes a roll holder for supporting the cleaning member and rotate the roll cleaning member, a vertical movement mechanism for vertically moving the roll holder so that the roll cleaning member applies a roll load to the substrate at the time of cleaning the substrate by actuation of an actuator having a regulating device, a load cell for measuring the roll load, and a controller for performing feedback control of the roll load through the regulating device based on the measured value of the load cell. The substrate cleaning apparatus further includes a monitor unit for monitoring whether an operation amount of the regulating device falls outside an allowable range of a preset reference value of an operation amount corresponding to a preset roll load.

Abstract: An automated washing system for vertical surfaces of buildings comprises a frame assembly including a substantially planar base portion and a mast portion extending upwardly from the base portion. A pair of rolling wheels are disposed on the opposing sides of the base portion adjacent the rear end thereof. A main brush is rotatably disposed on the frame and partially enclosed by a shroud. An electric drive motor drives the main brush and is powered by an onboard battery. Bumper wheels disposed on the shroud extend laterally outwardly beyond from the opposing circular ends of the main brush. The angle between the mast and the base is configured to hold the main brush against the vertical surface of the building when the mast is lifted vertically by a cable attached to the mast.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for removing condensed metal from the surfaces of metal processing chambers, such as, vacuum induction melting (VIM) furnaces having, for example, condensed Mg or Ti, are disclosed. The methods and apparatus provide a robotic arm end positioned in the furnace having a nozzle operatively connected to a source of dry ice. The robotic arm end directs a stream of dry ice particles against the surface of the furnace to displace condensed metal. The displaced metal is collected for reuse or disposal. Aspects of the invention provide a safe and automated process for cleaning process chambers and recovering metal that can typically be dangerous when performed by conventional methods.

The drive belt defines a first article engaging surface substantially parallel to a second article engaging surface of the apparatus and positioned to receive the article between the first and second article engaging surfaces. The drive belt is powered to move in a first direction such that the first article engaging surface imparts a forward motive force on a side wall of the article. The wiper belt defines an article wiping surface positioned to contact the article, the wiper belt being powered to move in a second direction opposite the first direction such that the first article wiping surface imparts a rearward wiping force on the article.
