And Adjunct Structure Patents (Class 135/88.17)
  • Patent number: 11014505
Abstract: The present invention relates to a device (10) for attaching to bars (20) including: a C-shaped rail (105) with an overall rectangular section having a plane of symmetry (110); a screw (115) defining a first axis (120) parallel to the axis of the rail; and at least two jaws (125a, 125b), each jaw including: a guiding body (130a, 130b) running in the rail with a certain play and including a through-opening (135a, 135b) and a clamp (140a, 140b) outside the rail. In this device: the head of the screw (145) is inserted into the opening (135a) of one jaw (125a); another jaw (125b) includes a nut (150) in the opening thereof (135b), rotatably locked; the clamps are off-center relative to the axis, each on one side of the plane, clamping the bar by shearing; the screwing of the screw translates the jaws towards one another in the rail, and the engagement of the clamps of the jaws with the bar rotates the jaw, thus causing same to stick by self-locking.

  • Patent number: 10753120
Abstract: A quick assembly tent is provided which may be quickly assembled and disassembled without using any tools or requiring know-how by the user. The tent includes a dynamic platform that can rotate about an x-axis along a platform pivot from a closed position to an open position. The tent may be configured to be mounted on a vehicle. The tent may include a rain fly and an entry ladder. The tent may be configured to deploy simply by pivoting the dynamic platform from a closed to an open position. Methods for assembling a quick assembly tent are also provided.

  • Patent number: 10208502
Abstract: A tent system may include a base system adapted to mount to a roof of a vehicle, an inflatable tent frame, and a canopy. The base system may include a rigid platform and an air delivery mechanism integrated into the base system, the air delivery mechanism may have an air port adapted to receive pressurized air. The tent system may include an inflatable tent frame including an inflatable tube coupled with the base system, the inflatable tube having an air inlet coupled with the air delivery mechanism, the air inlet receiving the pressurized air from the air delivery mechanism into the inflatable tube, the inflatable tube adapted to support a tent canopy when the inflatable tube is inflated using the pressurized air. The tent canopy may be attached to the base.

  • Publication number: 20100263698
Abstract: A car-top tent includes a top cover and a bottom base and is mounted to the top of a car. The tent can be folded on a rear portion of the car roof. The top cover forms an opening, which, when the tent is opened, is put in alignment with a sunroof of the car. When the top cover is opened, the tent is driven to expand so that when the top cover is moved to an angular position to be substantially flush with the bottom base, the tent is completely expanded on the car top. A sleep mat composed of multiple pieces is received in recesses defined in the top cover and the bottom base and is adjustable in angular position thereof. The tent can be accessed directly from inside the car through the sunroof so as to offer enhanced safety and be suitable for entertainment, vocation, and exercise.

  • Publication number: 20080308138
Abstract: The invention relates to a car roof tent that attaches to the roof bars and offers storage space for the user's luggage in a compartment that is an integral part of the roof tent but which offers two means of access: external access and internal access. When the tent is closed, the user gains access from the outside to his luggage situated inside the compartment through a separate cover (3). Since the compartment part is integrated, the user also has access to it from the inside when the tent is open (tent cover (2) open) and he himself is inside the tent. He is therefore not obliged to keep going in and out between the inside of the tent and the vehicle, where his luggage would otherwise be stored. Moreover, given such a compartment, the luggage is available without clambering over the inhabitable space or through the tent sleeping area. The compartment may be on the opposite side or on one of the sides of the entrance of the roof tent.

  • Patent number: 6179513
Abstract: A clamp for securing a canopy to a telescoping rafter while simultaneously securing the rafter is provided by the present invention. A handle is pivotally mounted on a rafter arm used to support and extend a retractable awning canopy. When the handle is rotated to a first position, the clamp is disengaged and a rafter arm may be extended freely. When the handle is rotated to a second position a spring lock is engaged by a cam attached to the handle, such that the spring lock secures the position of a first member relative to a second member of the telescoping rafter. At least one end of the handle includes a pair of clamping jaws for securing a canopy to the handle. The clamping jaws are tightened or loosened by a thumb screw connecting the jaws. The thumb screw may also be used to secure the handle to the rafter when the handle is not in use.
