  • Patent number: 7331359
Abstract: A fluid control valve has at its lower inlet end a bi-loading seal. The seal is generally ring shaped in top view. However, it has a first flexible load section for sealing the stationary disk with respect to the housing and a second load section having an annular insert that in cross-section is hook-shaped to form a bend of more than 90 degrees. The insert can be molded within the resilient body of the seal so that its outer rim is disposed at a circular shoulder that bears against a seal stop of the housing. The present 1-2 shift valve comprises a valve piston including at least one bi-directionally tapered valve stem that changes the direction of transmission fluid flow within the valve such that a rebound force is generated which acts to propel the valve piston in an axial direction toward the second gear position of the valve. The piston lands which comprise the valve piston are provided with a plurality of annular grooves that function to retain transmission fluid and to center the valve piston in its mating bore to resist to side loading during operation. In addition, the present valve piston is provided with an anodized surface finish, which increases service longevity.

  • Patent number: 6722633
Abstract: In a throttle body, a cylindrical body member is made of resin, and a core is made of a material different from the body member and insert molded in the body member. A notch is provided on an outer surface of the body in a peripheral direction, in a proximity of the core. The body member is readily split at the notch when external force is applied to the body member during a dismantling. Therefore, the core is readily removed from the body member. Alternatively, the body member can be constructed of a first body having a hook and a second body having a hook-receiving portion. Both the first and second bodies are connected to each other through the hook and the hook-receiving portion, and the core is held between both the first and second bodies. Thus, the core is readily removed from the body by unhooking the hook.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a light weight check valve for use in bulk material transfers that incorporates a smooth, generally spherical interior cavity to minimize flow inefficiencies. The check valve is made from two portions: a body portion and a lid assembly which is removably mounted to the body portion. The gate valve, or poppet, is hingedly mounted to the lid assembly. Hence, when the check valve assembly is opened for inspection, by removing the lid assembly, the poppet is removed along with the lid assembly, to allow for easy inspection of the poppet.

Abstract: A replacement actuator feed limit valve assembly, which regulates the flow and pressure of automatic transmission fluid within the actuator feed limit hydraulic circuit in an automotive transmission valve body is disclosed. The present actuator feed limit valve assembly comprises a hard anodized valve piston disposed within a mating, full contact valve sleeve having inlet and exhaust ports disposed about its circumference which increases actuator feed limit circuit control, reduces oscillation, and eliminates side loading and bore wear thereby correcting improper gear starts, soft/delayed shifting and clutch/band failure. The present valve assembly also includes fluid directing structures, which reduce the turbulence of hydraulic fluid passing through the valve. By substitution of alternative compression springs provided in an aftermarket kit format, the present replacement actuator feed limit valve assembly will function in either General Motors 4L60E or 4L80E early and late design transmission valve bodies.

Abstract: The present invention relates to automatic transmissions of land motor vehicles. Specifically, the present invention relates to pressure regulation in the system of automatic transmissions of land motor vehicles. The present invention is a pressure regulator valve that limits TV pressure. This valve is meant to replace the original equipment valve in the same casing the said original valve sat. The pressure regulator valve is slightly oversized and the kit has an o-ring equipped end plug to more positively seal the valve bore and prevent pressure loss, known in the industry as EPC/TV pressure. Furthermore, the valve has annular grooves added to prevent side loading by properly centering the valve in a bore. The pressure regulator valve comprises a steel ball and a spring combination with a gel like substance being added to prevent high wear and tear of the entire valve.

Abstract: A technique of assembling a solenoid operated valve to a hydraulic manifold in which the manifold has provided thereon undercut stanchions disposed on opposite sides of a cavity communicating with fluid valving passages. A U-shaped bracket with a central aperture is received over the solenoid and a first pair of tabs which engage lugs disposed respectively on opposite sides of the valve body function to prevent relative rotation between the bracket and valve. The bracket has a pair of oppositely extending resiliently deflectable spring arms each having a pair of second tabs thereon; and, the spring arms are deflected on the stanchions upon user insertion of the valve body into the cavity.
