  • Patent number: 7328719
Abstract: A sensing module for a fluid valve utilizes a sensor body having a sensing chamber. An extension member is fixedly coupled to a main valve element, is slidable within the sensing chamber along a first axis, and has an inclined cam surface. A plunger has a cam follower for engaging the cam surface and is slidable along a second axis between a first position when the valve element is in its deactuated position and a second position when the valve element is in its actuated position. The plunger is exposed to the sensing chamber. A sensing switch is coupled to the plunger for generating a switch signal indicative of the first and second positions. The valve body and the sensing body cooperate to form a fluid passage between the outlet port and the sensing chamber, and the plunger moves to the second position when the valve element is in the deactuated position if a fluid pressure greater than a predetermined pressure is present at the outlet port.

When a diaphragm chamber is placed at the secondary pressure by switching the directional control valve, the primary pressure is reduced by the main valve, and a predetermined reduced pressure is outputted. When the diaphragm chamber is at the primary pressure, the main valve is fully closed. • Patent number: 6978636
Abstract: A portable device for measuring the refrigerant pressure in an automobile air conditioning system and, if needed, charging the system with additional refrigerant, is provided. An actuator is coupled to a pressurized container that selectively opens the container valve. A hose is provided, the first end of which is connected to the actuator, and the second end is coupleable to a service port of an automobile air conditioner. A T-connector with a check valve is disposed in the hose, and a pressure gauge is connected to the T-connector. When the second end of the hose is coupled to a service port and the actuator is not activated, the pressure gauge measures a pressure of the air conditioner. When the second end is coupled to a service port and the actuator is activated, refrigerant is released from the pressurized container and into the air conditioner.

Abstract: A vacuum generator that is coupled to a double-walled fuel supply piping internal to a fuel dispenser that carries the fuel from the underground storage tank to the hose and nozzle of the fuel dispenser. The double-walled fuel supply piping contains an inner piping that carries the fuel. An interstitial space is formed by the space between the inner piping and an outer piping that surrounds the inner piping to capture any leaked fuel from the inner piping. The interstitial space is coupled to a vacuum created by the vacuum generator to determine if a leak exists in the interstitial space. The vacuum generator may be a standalone unit or may be a submersible turbine pump that also pumps fuel from the underground storage tank to the fuel dispenser.

Abstract: An end of a hollow member is connected to an air valve for introducing air into a tire. A detecting and transmitting unit for detecting an air pressure in the tire and transmitting pressure information out of the detecting and transmitting unit is connected to an opposite end of the hollow member. A detecting and transmitting unit is mounted on a hub of a wheel portion. The positioning of the detecting and transmitting unit minimizes any deviation from the dynamic balancing of the wheel. Consequently, the air pressure detecting device for a wheel can be subsequently installed on the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 6968851
Abstract: A double block valve and a valve proving system are disclosed. The double block valve is actuated by a single actuator and includes a valve body housing a cavity. The cavity defines an upstream portion with a fluid inlet and a downstream portion with a fluid outlet. A seating assembly is interposed between the upstream and the downstream portions. A first and a second blocking element are disposed in the valve body and are both movable within the cavity between opened and closed positions. With the first and second blocking elements both contacting the seating assembly, the space therebetween defines an enclosed space with a finite volume. The proving system is used for two safety shut-off valves on a valve train, such as a double block valve. The proving system connects to an enclosed space established between the two safety shut-off valves and includes a pair of three-way valves, oppositely biased pressure switches, and a pump, all of which are interconnected through pneumatic conduits.

Abstract: A flow meter, particularly for warm water heating systems, includes a measuring element and an indicator element. The indicator element has a basic component with a cylindrical attachment extending into the collector pipe. An indicator rod with a rebounding plate extends into the measuring element and vertically slidable. According to the invention, a filter is installed ahead of the rebounding plate in the flow direction of the heating medium. Where the basic component extends to a cylindrical attachment affecting the flow against the rebounding plate, it is suitable to provide a number of slits in the cylindrical external wall of the lower portion of the attachment, the slits being distributed around the perimeter parallel to the axis. In this manner, dirt particles, which could impair the function of the indicator, are virtually filtered out.

  • Patent number: 6953057
Abstract: A control solenoid and valve includes a valve bodying having a magnetic assembly, hydraulic assembly, and a pressure regulation member. The magnetic assembly and pressure regulation member are formed respectively on offset axes preferably substantially parallel to one another. The hydraulic assembly exchanges forces created by the magnetic assembly and pressure regulation member. This design accomplishes a more compact arrangement. The pressure regulation member includes longitudinal cavity within the valve body situated on its corresponding axis. Within this cavity, a spool valve reciprocates relative to fluid pressure interacting with the spool valve and forces generated by the magnetic assembly. To accurately sense pressure of the fluid within this cavity and acting on the spool valve, a pressure sensor is positioned at an end of the longitudinal cavity bounded by an end of the spool valve.

  • Patent number: 6948516
Abstract: An excess tire air pressure relief valve positioned on an automobile tire for relieving the pressure within the tire caused by heat or over inflation. The valve has a main tube that extends through the tire rim, to selectively communicate air from the tire interior to the tire exterior. The tube has a spring that extends between a pair of disks. A seal is positioned below the spring support disk and is pressed against a lower lip by the spring to prevent air leakage through the tube. The spring is selected to exert sufficient force against the seal to prevent air leakage through the main tube. When internal pressure is greater than normal within the tire, the spring is urged outward, allowing air to escape around the edges of the spring support disk until the internal pressure lowers such that the spring can once again hold the seal tightly against the bottom lip.

  • Patent number: 6940414
Abstract: In a pressure switch, which emits an electrical switching signal as a function of the magnitude of a pressure which is supplied to it, which electrical switching signal assumes a first value when the pressure is less than the threshold value and which assumes a second value when the value is greater than the threshold value, the threshold value is adjusted—assuming that this is provided at all—by hand, for example by moving a cam disk which is coupled to a rotary knob. In order to adjust the threshold value by an electrical signal, the pressure is supplied to a pressure sensor, which emits an electrical output signal, which is a measure of the pressure which is supplied to the pressure sensor. The pressure switch is supplied with an electrical input signal which is a measure of the threshold value.

  • Patent number: 6938642
Abstract: A variable device for regulating the outlet pressure of a fluid from a valve body, includes a pressure-sensing chamber having a wall formed by a resilient self-restoring diaphragm which is responsive to pressure in the chamber. A valve element connected to the diaphragm controls flow into the chamber. Increased pressure in the chamber decreases the flow into the chamber and decreasing pressure increases flow whereby fluid flow out from the chamber is maintained at a desired pressure. The outlet pressure is adjusted by deflecting the diaphragm in a direction to open the valve while permitting a section of the diaphragm connected to the valve member to remain responsive to the pressure in the chamber. An adjustment cover is provided to adjustably deflect the diaphragm and includes a catch mechanism to allow adjustment of the fluid outlet pressures and also retain the device at a desired value. An indicator arrangement may be provided to visually indicate the fluid outlet pressure.
