  • Publication number: 20140251474
Abstract: A combination flow control and reverse flow check valve controls the flow of fluid in a desired downstream direction and limits undesired backflow of liquid in an upstream direction into a fluid source such as a reservoir. The flow control and reverse flow check valve may include a housing having a fluid conveying channel with an upstream end configured for mounting to the liquid source and a downstream end for discharging fluids, a flow control valve positioned between the ends, and a check element positioned in the channel between the flow control valve and the downstream end. The check element is advantageously positioned between the flow control valve and the downstream end of the housing to prevent possible contaminants in a backflow liquid from reaching the flow control valve.

Abstract: A device for metering fluids includes a block provided with a channel connecting a fluid inlet in fluid communication with a fluid outlet. The device also includes a filter assembly within the channel and a fluid meter within the channel at a position downstream from the filter assembly. The device further includes a check valve assembly within the channel at a position downstream from the fluid meter. In addition, the device includes a calibration valve assembly within a channel section of the channel between the fluid outlet and the fluid meter. The calibration valve assembly is operable to move between a first position allowing passage of fluid from the fluid meter towards the fluid outlet and a second position blocking the passage of fluid from the fluid meter towards the fluid outlet.

  • Patent number: 8205638
Abstract: A fluid pressure regulator with a no-drain valve where the no drain valve also serves as a pressure reactive member to operate the pressure regulator valve. At low pressure settings, the no-drain valve is biased closed, and the regulator is biased open. As pressure progressively rises, the no-drain valve opens, then abuts a piston component of the regulator valve, and as pressure continues to rise, moves together with the regulator piston to move the regulator valve toward a closed position, thus regulating pressure.

  • Patent number: 8171950
Abstract: A compressed gas regulator of a piston type is disclosed in which a regulator is configured with an input valve situated entirely inside a compressed air canister, which regulator is then attached to a paintball gun, marker or other device for providing discrete charges of gas at a predetermined pressure to the attached device. The overall size and weight of the regulator are minimized, which allows increased capabilities to the user. A regulator overpressurization port vents behind a conventional safety gauge for safety purposes. Fill, gage, and canister overpressurization rupture ports are interconnected with a fill channel that extends from the canister to the ports without intersecting or interfering with the regulating components within the regulator. The input valve seat face is surrounded by a shallow generally conical surface within an input plenum. The shallow generally conical surface extends at approximately 5 to 15 degrees.

Abstract: A first check valve has a narrow flow path portion (68) formed between an arcuate portion (46) of the outer periphery (45) of a support member and a second enlarged-diameter portion (11) of a casing. The narrow flow path portion (first portion of an intermediate flow path) is in fluidic communication with a back-pressure chamber (50) defined in the support member at the rear of the top of a valving element through a communicating passage (67) including a gap (66) between the outer periphery of the valving element and the inner periphery of a large-diameter portion (38) and grooves (27) on the rear surface of the top of the valving element. Thus, a low static pressure of fluid flowing through the narrow flow path portion is introduced into the back-pressure chamber to move the valving element by a large differential pressure during the supply of fluid, thereby allowing the valve opening to become larger than in the conventional apparatus and enabling a reduction of pressure losses.

  • Publication number: 20110048561
Abstract: A pipe is provided through which a fluid can move without backflow in the absence of a gravity force provided by a downward pitch. This is accomplished by providing within the pipe a series of one-way valves, each having a structure similar to a mitral valve, with a rigid upper flap cooperating with a semi-rigid but flexible lower flap. Fluid pressure upstream of the valve will displace the lower flap enough to allow fluid to accumulate in a reservoir area downstream of the valve and upstream of a ramp structure. When sufficient fluid accumulates in the reservoir area, it overflows the ramp structure and proceeds to the next one-way valve, and the process is repeated.
