Abstract: A combination check valve and relief valve has a valve body with an inlet, an outlet, and a valve chamber operatively interposed between the inlet and outlet. A check valve may be integrated with the relief valve and therefore simplify a hydraulic system. The valve includes a relief valve member which is within the valve chamber. The valve also includes a resilient member with a first end and a second end. The first end of the resilient member operatively engages the relief valve member. The valve includes a setting member pressure-fit within the valve chamber to operatively engage the second end of the resilient member. The resilient member is resiliently biased between the setting member and the relief valve member to bias the relief valve member against a relief valve seat, whereby, when pressurized fluid communicates with the inlet, the resilient member is compressed, and the relief valve member disengages its seat to enable the fluid to pass through to the outlet.

  • Patent number: 7121298
Abstract: A reducer valve for pressurized gas includes a piston (2) displaceably mounted in a valve housing (3) against the force of a pressure spring (8). At one end, the piston (2) is subjected to pressure by the back pressure via a control pressure line (20) whereby the gas, which flows in from a pressurized gas source via a gas inlet (17), is throttled. The reducer valve is improved so that a specific gas volume remains in the connected pressurized gas source below a minimum pressure. A directional valve (24, 25) is provided in the control pressure line (20) and opens above a predetermined limit pressure.

  • Patent number: 7100637
Abstract: A water hydrant having a housing with inlet and outlet ends, and a valve assembly having a valve seat and a valve closure element. A valve operating rod is secured to the valve closure element to open and close the inlet end. • Patent number: 7055544
Abstract: Fire hydrants which feature additional structure for reducing the potential that those with ill intent can foul municipal water supplies by introducing toxins or other materials into fire hydrants. Various embodiments include valves which close off portions of the hydrant otherwise available for receipt of toxic or other materials when the fire hydrant nozzle cap is unscrewed and open. Such valves preferably open, manually or automatically, when water is flowing from the water supply through the nozzle, a condition which renders it difficult at best to introduce toxins through the hydrant into a water supply, but close off portions of the barrel when the nozzle is open and water is not flowing through the nozzle.

Abstract: A vacuum feed system for feeding liquid chemical into a stream of a second liquid flowing in a conduit includes a venturi connected in the conduit for supplying vacuum through first and second one-way check valves, a flow regulating valve, and a vacuum regulated flow control valve connected to a supply of liquid chemical to be fed. A pressure relief valve connected between the first and second check valves prevents back flow through the system. The components of the system, from the vacuum regulated flow control valve to the venturi, are arranged to provide a continuous upward flow path to thereby eliminate trapped gas in the system.

  • Patent number: 7028981
Abstract: A non-return valve (10), typically of commonly called duckbill valve shape, comprising a valve body (12) and a valve membrane (14). The valve body (12) is generally tubular and includes an elongate passageway (16) with inlet (18) and outlet (20) at opposing ends. The valve membrane (14) is of a generally conical-shaped diaphragm formed integrally with the valve body (12). The diaphragm (14) has a collapsible opening or aperture (22) located at or adjacent the cones apex. The conical diaphragm (14) is oriented with its apex pointing downstream. The resiliently flexible material from which the diaphragm (14) is constructed, ensures that the diaphragm (14) in a collapsed condition obstructs or closes the aperture (22) to prevent fluid flowing in a reverse direction, i.e. backflow towards the inlet.
