Plural Noncommunicating Flow Paths Patents (Class 137/625.18)
  • Patent number: 6973936
Abstract: A fluid injection system controls the distribution of fluid from a supply line to a selected well at an adjustable rate. A fluid barrier divides a cylinder into first and second chambers. A multi-position valve comprises a first position for passing fluid from the supply line into the first chamber to displace fluid from the second chamber back through the valve to an injection point, and a second position for passing fluid from the supply line to the second chamber to displace fluid from the first chamber back through the valve to the injection point. A control system in communication with a position sensor times displacement of the fluid barrier to selected positions, and selectively adjusts a variable valve opening to adjust flow rate, switch between the first and second positions, and periodically increase the valve opening for cleaning.

  • Patent number: 6857448
Abstract: A control apparatus simultaneously controls flow rates of a first fluid and a second fluid. The apparatus comprises a control valve for controlling the flow rate of the first fluid and a bleed device for bleeding the second fluid. The control valve is operatively connected to the bleed device, whereby, as the control valve is opened progressively greater amounts to increase flow of the first fluid, the bleed device is progressively closed to decrease bleeding of the second fluid, and, as the control valve is closed progressively greater amounts to decrease flow of the first fluid, the bleed device is progressively opened to increase bleeding of the second fluid. The control apparatus may be installed in a burner unit of the type having a compressor supplying pressurized air to the burner and a fuel pump supplying fuel to the burner. The control valve controls the fuel and the bleed device increases bleeding of the air as the control valve closes.

  • Patent number: 6818068
Abstract: Aconveyer for treating hollow bodies, comprising several identical treatment stations (12, 13) that process at least one hollow body, whereby the respective treatment station for a given treatment stage communicates with a pressure source via distribution means that include a tight revolving extention. The invention is characterized in that the machine includes at least two independent and equivalent pressure sources (A1, A2) for the given treatment stage. The invention is also characterized in that it is divided up into the same number of treatment stations (12, 13) as the number of pressure sources existing for the machine and in that the distribution device (18) are such that each pressure source (A1, A2) is associated with a specific group.

  • Patent number: 6647965
Abstract: A pump assembly and method for an internal combustion engine includes a high-pressure pump for pressurizing oil used to actuate fuel injectors or other devices, a hydraulic inlet throttle valve, a three-way valve for alternatively connecting the inlet throttle valve to output pressure or to the sump and a solenoid responsive to signals from an electronic control module for shifting the three-way valve.

  • Patent number: 6543480
Abstract: A valve for controlling a flow of water to an appliance comprises a valve assembly having a pair of inlets for coupling to a water supply and a pair of outlets for supplying water to the appliance. A valve mechanism is coupled to the valve assembly to control the flow of water from the inlets to the outlets. A timer is coupled to the valve mechanism to control the valve mechanism and thereby control the flow of water. The timer allows water to flow from said inlets to said outlets for a preset length of time.

  • Patent number: 6526974
Abstract: The pressure of breathable gas exiting a flow generator is controlled by adjusting the efficiency of the flow generator. In one embodiment, a baffle plate of a control element can restrict the open entry area of a motor driven turbine of the flow generator. In another embodiment, the degree of opening of the mouth of the flow generator inlet is automatically adjustable in response to the needs of the user, hence creating a pneumatic impedance, and which simultaneously controls, in the same manner, the impedance of the outlet of the device.

  • Patent number: 6412513
Abstract: A valve includes a housing having a chamber and two inlets communicating with each other, two casings received in the chamber of the housing and each having a bottom orifice and an upper port and a side aperture communicating with each other. A valve seat is slidably received in the apertures of the casings and has two openings communicating with the inlets of the housing, and a valve member is slidably engaged in the valve seat. A number of sealing members may be easily and solidly engaged between the casings and the housing and a cover for forming an excellent water tight seal.

  • Patent number: 6170524
Abstract: A fast-acting valve includes a valve body and a spool slidably mounted within the valve body between first and second limit positions. Both the spool and the valve body have a flow passage which come into alignment with the valve spool at a position intermediate the first and second limit positions and spaced therefrom by a given distance. That given distance allows the spool member to accelerate in travel from the first and second limit positions to the valve open position so that the opening of the valve (and closing) occurs quite quickly. Reciprocating movement of the valve spool relative to the valve body can be provided by springs mounted in opposing ends of the valve body bore in cooperation with solenoids mounted on opposing sides of the valve body. The fast-acting valve may be modified into the form of poppet valve or a cartridge valve.
