Abstract: A method of connecting prefabricated pieces of an HTS cable onsite is disclosed. This quick and reliable procedure of connecting pieces of HTS cable adds to the flexibility of designing and installing power transmission and distribution grids. The joint can also be dissembled such that it can be dismantled for replacing the cable on one side of the connection. The joint can then be reassembled with a new cable in its place. This facilitates repairing the electrical grid in case of local damage to the cable, as well as reconfiguring the grid in case this is required. The complexity of creating demountable HTS cable joints is due to the necessity to create and maintain continuity of several media across the joint along the length of the cable. Abstract: The present invention discloses a pipe material including the pipe body. Spacers are set inside the pipe body. The outer wall of the spacer is in close fit with the inner wall of the pipe body. In the present invention, the spacer set inside the pipe material can well support the pipe wall and better enhance the mechanical strength and anti-bending performance of the pipe. Due to the close fit between the outer wall of the spacer and the inner wall of the pipe body, the bonding between the spacer with certain thickness and the pipe body enhances its force in any direction and improves the stress performance of the pipe body. The interaction of multiple spacers ensures the local stability of the pipe body between spacers. • Patent number: 8047328
Abstract: A muffler adapted for connection with an exhaust pipe of an internal combustion engine which has an outer housing constructed of a plastic material. The housing has an inlet and at least one inwardly protruding rib extends around the interior of the housing inlet. The rib is constructed of a plastic material and forms an opening complementary in shape, but smaller in cross-sectional area, than the outer periphery of the exhaust pipe. The exhaust pipe is inserted into the inlet and the exhaust pipe and housing are vibrated relative to each other for a time period sufficient to at least partially melt the rib and cause the rib to seal around the exhaust pipe upon cooling.

  • Patent number: 7819222
Abstract: A device for attenuating energy along a conduit, comprising a first member having an essentially semi-cylindrical outer surface and a first cavity extending substantially longitudinally from end to end. A second member having an essentially semi-cylindrical outer surface is provided, with the outer radii of the first and second members being the same. The second member also has a longitudinally extending cavity. When the two members are secured to one another to form the device, the two cavities face one another to form a bore that extends from end to end and has respective opposed tapered portions having a circular cross-sectional configuration that decreases in diameter inwardly. The bore also has a central, cylindrical portion disposed between the tapered portions and having an axial length that is no greater than one third of the overall axial length of the device.

  • Patent number: 7802445
Abstract: An insulated and refrigerated beverage transport line provides enhanced temperature control of one or more beverages conveyed through the transport line. A plurality of coolant lines carrying a re-circulated coolant makes contact with the one or more product lines. One or more empty lines, referred to as packers, may be placed between the coolant lines and the product lines to provide a dimensionally stable and tight group of lines that are bundled together. An external insulation is provided over the bundle of lines to further enhance insulation for the beverage being transported through the product lines. At least one dedicated coolant return line may be placed remote from the other lines. The dedicated coolant return line carries the highest temperature coolant found in a beverage transport system. Independent and separate insulation of this dedicated coolant return line prevents inadvertent heat transfer to the one or more product lines.
