  • Publication number: 20140352838
Abstract: A fiber preform architecture and method of making, including a plurality of fiber bands. Each band of the plurality of fiber bands is placed at a time, at a predetermined position and orientation, to generate an interwoven and interlocking pattern between the fiber bands. Each of the plurality of fiber bands is formed of a plurality of fiber tows, positioned side by side at a predetermined spacing to define one or more gaps between each tow in the fiber band and define a secondary based interleaving within each of the fiber bands. The plurality of fiber bands are interwoven in an in-plane and out-of-plane orientation by interleaving each of the plurality of fiber bands with one or more of the plurality of fiber bands previously laid down and not in a common plane. The plurality of fiber bands include three or more different orientation angles and provide uniformity in coverage.

  • Patent number: 7490633
Abstract: In this mechanism (7) a moving hook comprises a body (20) provided with a nose (202) for bearing against a corresponding knife (14), and a flexible blade (21) secured to the body so as to be capable of moving relative thereto and designed to interact with a retaining lever (16) belonging to the selector device. The selector lever (16) forms a ramp (313) over which a portion (214) of the resilient blade (21) slides when the hook (13) is moved in the vicinity of its top dead-center position. The ramp on which the selector lever slides is shaped in such a manner that the component (FA+FB+FC) parallel to the travel direction (X-X?) of the moving hook (13) of the resultant of the forces (RA, RB, RC) acting on the flexible blade (21) when in contact with the ramp (313) in the vicinity of the top dead-center point of its travel and at the beginning of its downward movement (F14), is directed downwards.

  • Publication number: 20080163952
Abstract: The present invention relates to a weave with a visual color variation, which is interlaced by a plurality of longitudinal yarns and a plurality of latitudinal yarns. One of the longitudinal yarns and latitudinal yarns includes at least one protruding yarn and two color yarns with different colors. The protruding yarn has a plurality of protruding portions presenting on the surface of the weave. The two color yarns are arranged beside the protruding yarn respectively, and the two color yarns have a plurality of color portions presenting on the surface of the weave respectively. If the weave is observed from different viewing angles, the color portions are interfered by the protruding portion to make the weave show various visual color variations.

  • Patent number: 6945282
Abstract: A shed-forming device and a method for using it are provided for creating a shed of warp yarns in a weaving machine. The shed-forming device includes a plurality of yarn separating elements operably disposed to one another within the weaving machine. The yarn separating elements individually separate the warp yarns into operational zones between the yarn separating element. A fluid supply apparatus supplies fluid to the yarn separating elements in the shed-forming device. The yarn separating elements direct the fluid to contact the warp yarns, forcing the warp yarns to form changeable sheds to allow proper weaving.

  • Patent number: 6179010
Abstract: A weaving method to put laser sheet onto weaving band without spoiling the diagrams printed on the laser sheet is disclosed. In the first step, a laser-processed diagram sheet is cut into a plurality of delicate strips a certain amount of which are then rolled up in group at one end onto each of a number of shuttles. The rolled sheet strips on a number of shuttles are used as warp yarns and natural fabric fibers are used as weft yarns so that a woven fabric on a weaving machine is obtained from the interwoven warp yarns and weft yarns.

  • Patent number: 5390709
Abstract: A shedding apparatus for being fitted onto a fabric-forming machine such as a loom for controlling the up and down movement of warp-carrying heddles to form a filling insertion zone. The shedding apparatus includes a computer for storing pattern information relating to a pre-determined pattern to be translated into a woven pattern on the fabric-forming machine. A plurality of pneumatic piston and cylinder assemblies are attached to respective heddles for pneumatically moving the heddle attached thereto into and out of shed-forming position. Pressurized air is delivered to predetermined piston and cylinder assemblies to thereby move the selected piston and cylinder assemblies and their respective heddles into upper and lower shed-forming positions to receive a filling yarn to thereby create a portion of the pattern.

  • Patent number: 5058628
Abstract: To operate the terry loom, one or more pile-forming elements is actuated by separate drives on an individual pick basis and in a freely triggerable manner and at a loom speed. Any desired terry cadence can be produced in any desired sequence without stopping the loom and changing mechanical control and actuating means. Pile height can also be varied as required. The terry loom has at least one servomotor as a separate drive. The servomotor, which is triggered by means of a control and adjustment circuit arrangement, drives the pile-forming element by way of a reduction transmission and transmission elements. The servomotor can be preferably brushless and electronically commutated and have a low mass inertia rotor and high-field strength permanent magnets.

Abstract: The jacquard needles are moved lengthwise via a reciprocable drive element and a selector in order to selectively press the lifting wires in a pressing direction. Each needle carries a force accumulator, such as a coiled spring, which abuts against the drive element and allows the drive element to move in the pressing direction when a given needle is not to be moved. Each needle is also locked to the drive element to move with the drive element in a direction opposite the pressing direction.
