Abstract: A fastening mechanism configured to connect a first member to a second member may have a clamp member having an enclosure for enclosing the first member. The mechanism may also have engagement sheets extending from two side edges of the enclosure. Each engagement sheet may have a first engagement portion. The mechanism may also have a locking member having slots where the engagement sheets of the clamp member may be configured to be inserted through the slots. The mechanism may also have an actuating and tensioning device having a main body portion provided with second engagement portions engaged with the first engagement portions, and a force application mechanism affixed to the main body portion for applying a force on the locking member to shift the relative position between the locking member and the clamp member. A furniture assembly using the fastening mechanism is also provided.

Abstract: Provided is a connection structure of an operation rod in which a connection object such as a tip tool can be easily attached to and detached from the operation rod in a relatively short time without causing a fixed state. The main body is inserted into the cylindrical operation rod on the tip side. An engagement pair is formed of an engagement part with a notch provided to the main body on a tip side and an engagement part with an engagement pin provided to a tip tool. An inner slider on which a recessed groove is formed in a circumferential direction is relatively slidably disposed to the main body on an inner diameter side. An outer slider is relatively slidably disposed to the main body on an outer diameter side, wherein an opposing recess which can oppose to the recessed grove is formed on the outer slider.

Abstract: A bayonet-type locking and unlocking system for a circular connector with audible indicator of locking, including: a socket including at least one unlocking ramp, a locking ring including at least one locking ramp in which the lug of the socket slides in translation, a locking piece including a blocking tooth, an unblocking lug, and a guideway, the system including a locking position in which the blocking tooth is positioned in the guide slot blocking the position of the lug of the socket in the circular part of the locking ramp.

Abstract: A microfluidic device for the detection of drugs, explosives, chemical warfare, or other substances which is able to directly accept a swab into the device for testing. This device additionally contains on-board reagents to perform colorimetric testing for threshold determination directly in the device. These features are useful in a wide array of situations, such as at security checkpoints, environmental monitoring, clinical analysis, which require testing completely unknown substances and therefore must test for multiple different substances in one test. This is especially useful for police and other law enforcement officials who often must use field-deployable platforms making accurate field-testing critical for safety.

Abstract: An adjustable tool holder is configured for interchangeable use with a variety of tools provided with different connection elements. The connection elements include at least a first connection element configured for a first manner of connection with the tool holder and a second connection element configured for a second manner of connection with the tool holder. The tool holder includes a distally extending tool support operable to detachably support each of the tools. The tool support includes a first tool connector configured to releasably connect with the first connection element in the first manner of connection. The tool support includes a second tool connector configured to releasably connect with the second connection element in the second manner of connection.

Abstract: An improved telepole device having attachment means for attaching swimming pool cleaning, and other tools. The improved telepole device preferably includes an inner tube which freely slides within an outer tube, and a locking device to temporarily secure the inner tube in a desired position within the outer tube. A preferred lightweight design may be at least partially hollow along the length of the tube(s), and durability may be provided by inner/reinforcement wall(s) that extend across the hollow portion(s) of one or both of the tubes. On the end of the outer tube through which the inner tube slides/extends is a collar element attached thereto and comprised of a locking device having a detent mechanism for “locking” the inner tube in place within the outer tube. Preferably, the collar's opening and the profile of the inner tube have one or more sides that, due to their relative position with respect to each other, can prevent the inner tube from rotating within the collar.

Abstract: A telepole for swimming pool cleaning is disclosed as including an inner tube and a locking device to temporarily secure the inner tube in a desired position within an outer tube. A preferred lightweight design may be at least partially hollow, and durability may be provided by inner/reinforcement wall(s) in one or both of the tubes. A collar element is disclosed as “locking” the inner tube in place within the outer tube. The collar's opening and the profile of the inner tube are disclosed in a relationship that prevents the inner tube from rotating within the collar. The inner tube is disclosed as having a series of holes along its length to receive a pin element of a detent mechanism. The end of the outer tube opposite the collar is disclosed as having multiple sets of attachment holes to receive attachable and detachable swimming pool cleaning tools.

Abstract: A mop includes a mop handle with a grip end and a mopping end. A locking cup is disposed on the mopping end. The locking cup includes a cup portion with interior threads and a locking tooth. A mop head is disposed at the mopping end. The mop head connects to a locking cap. The locking cap includes a locking tab configured to engage with the interior threads of the locking cup to allow for selective removal of the mop head from the mop handle and to engage and be retained by the locking tooth when the locking cap is threaded into the locking cup. A biasing element is disposed in the cup portion and contacts the locking cap and generate a bias between the locking cap and the locking cup and urge the locking tab against the locking tooth when the locking cap is threaded into the cup portion.

Abstract: The present disclosure describes a labor assistance system comprising a perianal support member and grip. The perianal support member includes a contact surface, an inner surface opposing the contact surface, and a rigid compression element. The contact surface has a generally continuous compression surface apex extending from the contact surface in a first direction, oriented to extend from an anterior edge to a posterior edge along a midline axis in a sagittal plane of the patient without substantially interfering with the birthing canal of the patient. The grip is coupled to the inner surface between the anterior edge and the posterior edge of the support member. The present disclosure also describes an intrapartum pelvic floor support device that is applied to tissue in the perianal and/or anococcygeal regions of the patient during an intrapartum period to support the anococcygeal region tissues and at least a portion of the pelvic floor.

Abstract: An electrically driven device includes an electric motor with a drive shaft having a first rotary axis and a drive pin eccentrically thereto, and a driven shaft having a second rotary axis and mounted for pivoting motion. The driven shaft is coupled to the drive shaft by a scotch yoke mechanism, converting a rotary motion of the drive shaft into a reciprocating pivoting motion of the driven shaft. The scotch yoke mechanism includes a cross slider having a sliding support extending perpendicular to the first rotary axis and receiving the drive pin either directly or by a sliding block having a bearing receiving the pin. The cross slider is axially guided to move in an axial direction perpendicular to the first rotary axis and to the extension of the sliding support. The driven shaft is coupled to the cross slider by a pivotable crank arm, thereby converting a rotary motion of the drive shaft into a reciprocating motion of the driven shaft.

Abstract: The application provides a hair coloring brush. The hair coloring brush can include a handle and a detachable brush cap that detachably couples to the handle. The handle can include an elongated body, a brush attachment protrusion, where the brush attachment protrusion extends outward from the elongated body and has a first protrusion side and a second protrusion side. The handle can also include a first side ridge and a second side ridge. The detachable brush cap can include a distal brush end, a plurality of bristles, and a cavity opposite the distal brush end, where the cavity has a cavity wall and an internal groove located in the cavity wall. The first side ridge and the second side ridge can tension fit in the internal groove when the detachable brush cap is inserted over the brush attachment protrusion.

Abstract: A cleaning article for cleaning a target surface. The cleaning article has strips which present a dynamically changing surface area to the target surface during use. The surface area has also has a bundle of tow fibers which may be oriented transverse to the strips. The tow fibers may extend outwardly from the plane of the strips, allowing particles to migrate towards and be retained near the center of the cleaning article, without interfering with the strips.

Abstract: An oral care implement handle or a refill head therefor. The oral care implement handle may include a gripping portion and a stem protruding from a shoulder of the gripping portion. The stem may include a post located at a distal end of the stem. The post may have a non-circular transverse profile. More specifically, the post may include a hub portion and a protuberance that either protrudes radially from a side surface of the hub portion, protrudes upward from the shoulder of the gripping portion, or both. The refill head may include a sleeve having an inner surface that defines an internal cavity. The internal cavity may include a central portion and at least one slot portion extending radially from the central portion. Thus, the internal cavity of the sleeve portion may have a profile configured to receive the stem of the oral care implement handle.

Abstract: A medicated patch applicator includes a portable handle having a centrally registered longitudinal axis, a flexible frame pivotally connected to the handle and selectively articulated relative thereto, and an implement adjustably coupled to a distal end of the handle and disposed at a proximal end of the frame. Such an implement is located adjacent to a juncture of the frame and the handle such that the implement linearly protrudes outwardly from the handle along the centrally registered longitudinal axis. Advantageously, the implement is capable of removing an existing back liner of an existing medicated patch during an application process of the existing medicated patch.

The brush head retainer is adapted to receive a variety of different hair brush heads comprising a variety of types of bristles. The handle comprises a centrally tapered configuration that is easily grasped by a user. Upper and lower portions define a central longitudinal passage. Axially aligned within this passage is a handle coupling assembly comprising an activation member, push rod, spring, barrel, and one or more ball bearings. The brush head retainer comprises a brush head retainer lower opening, an inner annular groove, and one or more lower pins. The inner annular groove comprises an angled lower portion which is transversely aligned with the barrel side openings. The push rod is moveable between first and second positions such that the brush head retainer may be coupled and decoupled.

Abstract: There is provided an attachment structure for a personal care appliance, the attachment structure comprising a body having a proximal end and a distal end, wherein the proximal end has a coupling receptacle that is for coupling to a drive shaft of a handle of the personal care appliance; and wherein the coupling receptacle has one or more portions of shear-thickening material on an interior surface thereof. A corresponding personal care appliance and method of securing an attachment structure to a handle of a personal care device are also provided.

Abstract: A telescoping utility line pole is disclosed. The pole includes an outer pole section configured to be held in the hand of a user and having an inner bore defined by an inner surface and an inner pole section configured to slide within the bore of the outer pole section. The outer pole section includes a plurality of grooves defined by a plurality of raised sections positioned around a circumference of the inner surface. The inner pole section includes a plurality of lugs positioned on a distal end of the inner pole section. The plurality of lugs and plurality of grooves are keyed to each other. When the plurality of lugs are aligned with the plurality of grooves, the inner pole section is permitted to engage the outer pole section for use by the user.

The positioning member includes an arched end and a hook end. The arched end is received in the arched guiding groove. The guiding cylinder is coupled with the engaging portion of the finger holding member.

Abstract: A surgical instrument configured to introduce a spinal fixation rod into a vertebral implant. When the spinal fixation rod is engaged with the surgical instrument and the surgical instrument is put into a retention configuration, the spinal fixation rod cannot be removed from the surgical instrument until the spinal fixation rod is properly oriented with respect to the surgical construct and the surgical instrument is released from the retention configuration. The surgical instrument includes a surgical instrument body, an actuator, an engagement assembly, and a transfer assembly that extends between the actuator and the engagement assembly. The surgical instrument can also be used as part of a method for introducing a spinal fixation rod or part of a kit for introducing a spinal fixation rod.

Abstract: A simple, compact stand is designed to attach to various types of hand implements with an elongated handle, such as a rake, that employs a leg that folds down to support the hand implement in an upright position. The leg folds upright out of the way when the rake is being used. Abstract: A brush cleaning system is provided that comprises a device body having a proximal and a distal end. The proximal end of the device body is configured to engage a first point on a handle of a brush at a first engagement point. The distal end of the device body is configured to engage a second point on the handle of the brush at a second engagement point. A vibration producing motor is configured to transmit vibrations to the first engagement point and to the second engagement point wherein the vibrations are transmitted to the bristles on the brush to loosen and remove particulates therefrom. The vibration producing motor can be contained in the device body or it can be contained in the brush handle or a vibration producing motor can be included in both the device body and in the brush handle.

The folding hat has the elastic ring sewn in an outer circumferential edge of a brim, and the elastic ring is formed by coupling both ends of a flat wire rod shaped by rolling spring steel round wire. Regarding the elastic ring, both ends of the flat wire rod are preferably coupled by: inserting both ends of the flat wire rod in both sides of a tubular metal stop, respectively; and crushing the metal stop. Abstract: A magnetic connection system with at least three components for connecting host and target systems. A first magnetic connector is attached to the host system, a second magnetic connector is attached to the target system; a third magnetic connector or puck is positioned between the first connector and the second connector. The first, second, and third connectors fit together with their magnets aligned, and the magnetic attraction is stronger between the puck and the target system connector than the puck and the host system connector. The system can transfer fuel, data, or electricity. In one example, the system transfers fuel from a fuel supply vessel to a target vessel with minimal human effort to attach the fuel connector components. The puck can have a conduit for fuel, data, or electricity that is centrally aligned with a receiving conduit in the target system connector.

Abstract: Devices and methods for restructure and stabilization of a fractured or weakened head of a bone are disclosed herein. A device includes a delivery catheter having a proximal end and a distal end, an inner void for passing at least one light sensitive liquid, and an inner lumen; an expandable member releasably engaging the distal end of the delivery catheter; and a light conducting fiber sized to pass through the inner lumen of the delivery catheter and into the expandable member. The expandable member moves from a deflated state to an inflated state when the light sensitive liquid is passed to the expandable member. When the light conducting fiber is in the expandable member, the light conducting fiber is able to disperse the light energy to initiate hardening of the light sensitive liquid within the expandable member to form a photodynamic implant.

Abstract: An oral care implement, such as a toothbrush, which includes a handle and a replacement head utilizing a specially designed structure for coupling the replacement head to the handle of the oral care implement. The replacement head comprises a head and a tubular sleeve comprising a cavity for receiving a handle. A protuberance protrudes radially inward from an inner surface of the tubular sleeve for engaging a boss of a stem on the handle to impede rotation of the tubular sleeve about the stem in a first angular direction. A locking tab protrudes radially inward from the inner surface of the tubular sleeve for engaging an undercut surface of the boss to prevent axial disengagement of the tubular sleeve from the stem. The locking tab is circumferentially spaced from the protuberance so that a first axial channel exists therebetween for receiving a section of the boss.

Abstract: A mesh back mop head includes a cleaning surface and a backing member. The cleaning surface is secured to the backing member along a plurality lines to define channels in the cleaning surface. The backing member is formed from an open mesh material that substantially allows the free flow of liquid therethrough. The backing member includes at least one receiver operably mounted to the backing member for receiving a mop head frame. A cleaning system and a method of cleaning using the mesh back mop head are disclosed.

Abstract: A multi-purpose tool includes a jaw head, a first handle removably coupled to the jaw head and a second handle coupled to the jaw head. The first handle includes a body and a hand tool pivotably coupled to the body. The hand tool is moveable between a closed position in which the hand tool is disposed within the body and an open position in which the hand tool extends out of the body. The first handle can be removed from the jaw head to be utilized separately from the jaw head.

Abstract: A floor treating apparatus comprises a chassis, a cleaning head assembly and a wheel lift assembly. The chassis has a wheel assembly and a handle assembly. The cleaning head assembly comprises a motor mounting plate that is suspended from the chassis at pivot points. The wheel lift assembly comprises a cam mounted between the chassis and the motor mounting plate, and a lever for rotating the cam to tilt the motor mounting plate on the pivot points.

Abstract: A cleaning scrubber for cleaning household surfaces is described. The cleaning scrubber includes an elongated handle having a gripping portion at the proximal end and a means for removably attaching a cleaning disk at the distal end. The cleaning disk comprises a foam or sponge cleaning pad and means for attachment to the handle. The handle may include means for releasing the cleaning disk from the end of the handle without the need for the user to manually handle the cleaning disk. A caddy for storage of the cleaning scrubber and spare cleaning disks is also described.

Abstract: A surface cleaner including a housing and a blade assembly with a blade element. The blade assembly is movable between a lowered position and a raised position relative to the housing. A spring is coupled between the housing and the blade assembly, and the spring applies a force on the blade assembly to move the blade assembly toward the lowered position. The blade element is allowed to move toward the raised position, against the force, such that the force maintains the blade element in contact with a surface to be cleaned. In addition, when in the raised position, the blade element is held against the force and inhibited from moving toward the lowered position.

Abstract: The invention includes a solid rinse aid that is particularly designed for pressed or extrusion solid formation and which is effective for spotless surfaces after rinsing, especially rinsing metals without corrosion. According to the invention, a solid acid is combined with a short-chain alkylbenzene and alkyl naphthalene sulfonate. The short-chain alkylbenzene and alkyl naphthalene sulfonate act as a solidification agent as well as a hydrotrope, and total dissolved solid (TDS) active and are combined with at least one nonionic low foaming surfactant.

Abstract: A device for connecting a thrust reverser front frame to a fan casing includes a crenulated flange secured to the front frame, an annular component to accept this flange secured to the fan casing, and a crenulated annulus of a shape that complements the flange and pivot-mounted on the annular component. The crenulated flange, the annular component and the crenulated annulus are designed in such a way that a rotation of the annulus with respect to the annular component has the effect of locking this flange against this annular component through the collaboration between the respective crenulations of the flange and of the annulus.

Abstract: A formable handle toothbrush has a handle portion that allows a user to heat and form the handle to the shape of their hand to provide for more secure grip of the toothbrush. In one embodiment, a hand formable toothbrush has a toothbrush head attached to a shank that can be inserted into a socket within the toothbrush handle. This configuration allows for the use of replacement toothbrush heads. This makes manufacturing of higher cost handles more economical, as the formable handle portions would not be thrown out when the toothbrush head needs replacement. To customize the formable handle portion, a user may simply place the toothbrush, or handle portion of the toothbrush, in boiling water for a period of time and then remove the toothbrush handle, allow it to cool to a safe temperature and then grasp the handle to form it into the shape of their hand.
