Abstract: The invention takes advantage of an elasticity of brush bristles and an axial movement of the brush assembly with respect to a brush housing to configure the brush in a retracted or an expanded position. The brush with retractable bristles allows for both an easy removal of hair and/or debris on the bristles simply by the axial movement of the brush assembly and a replacement of the brush bristles when the brush bristles are damaged or dirty. The brush with retractable bristles is configured to be used with an electric tool which enables a rotation of the brush.

The device may be used for refilling liquid containing vessels, for example.

A plurality of bristles is attached to the outside of the second end of the body and a cavity is defined by the inside of the body and handle. The cavity is connected to the outside of the second end of the body by at least one channel. The invention also includes a removable cap covering an opening at a terminating end of the handle.

An arm extends from the handle to an attachment flange to which an applicator pad is removeably coupled. A passageway extends between the reservoir and the attachment flange to provide oil from the reservoir onto the applicator pad to at least partially saturate the pad. The pad is placed into contact with a cooking surface such as a grill grate to apply the oil therein onto the grill grate and/or to scrub residue or debris from the grill grate. A heat shield may be provided between the handle and the cooking surface to protect a user's had from exposure to heat from the cooking surface. The applicator pad is removable for replacement or washing.

Puncturing the seal of the packaging allows access to the sterile collapsed toothbrush therein. The inner-most segment is pulled outward, away from the brush head, with the adjacent outer segments following. Upon extension the segments form an interference fit with each adjacent interior and exterior segment forming a rigid handle. A filament, such as dental floss is contained within the toothbrush. An end of the filament extends from the end of the handle opposite the brush head, and when the handle is extended a user can pull the filament from the toothbrush and use the filament to floss their teeth.

The typical device is a resilient, water permeable tubular band or sleeve, designed to surround a bundle of bristles when in a radially expanded state. An elastic restoring force exerted by the sleeve acts radially inwardly against the bundle, compacting the bristles against one another. The compaction tends to preserve or restore a desired shape of the bundle, and substantially closes interstitial regions or open spaces ordinarily present between and among the bristles. Substantial closure of the interstitial regions, along with the use of a breathable material in the fibers used to construct the sleeve, contribute to a surprising and considerable reduction in bristle drying time. A system suitable for simultaneously drying several brushes includes a flat panel supporting a plurality of the sleeves, each sleeve aligned with a receptacle for the brush handle.

The cosmetic brush system may include a displaceable cap coupled to a handle and a group of bristles fixed to one end of the handle. The displaceable cap may be slideably or peelably coupled to the handle. The handle may include ballast to position a centroid of the cosmetic brush closer to the end of the handle. In embodiments where the displaceable cap is a slideable cap, an end cap may be fixed to the end of the handle and the slideable cap and the end cap may form a uniform elongated cylindrical shape having the same outer diameter. The displaceable cap may also include a ventilation system. By virtue of having a displaceable cap permanently coupled to the handle of the cosmetic brush system, the user cannot misplace the cap and the system is portable and convenient.

The cleaning solution can be discharged from the packet when the packet is positioned in the pocket and the packet is pierced by the at least one piercing projection. The cleaning solution can then be dispensed through the passageway onto a surface to be cleaned.

Each of the panel sections and an adjacent set defines a head. A frangible area in the panel is formed at junctures of each of the heads to facilitate breaking the heads off from one another. The panel is slidable outwardly through the first end to expose the heads and allow the heads to be used for brushing teeth. The heads are broken off of the panel to allow a next one of the heads to be used.

The head can be retracted by sliding a sleeve mounted on the handle forward over the sides of the head. The head, when removed from the handle, can be washed without the risk of water penetrating the sleeve mechanism. The head can also be replaced or interchanged, which can greatly enlarge the versatility of the brush and also avoids waste of material.

The terminal ends of the two sets of brushes define a substantially narrow passageway in alignment with the portals. At least one of the upper and lower sets of brushes has a plurality of bristle zones wherein the brush bristles of one bristle zone are of a different length and rigidity than the brush bristles of a different bristle zone.

Abstract: A hair brush includes a brush head and a bristle/handle assembly. The head includes a cylindrical barrel with a plurality of apertures in it, and the bristle/handle assembly includes a handle and a bristle tree assembly. The bristle tree assembly includes a central bristle rod, a plurality of bristles radially extending from the rod, and a connecting rod extending between the bristle rod and the handle. The bristle rod is positioned within the barrel, and the bristles extend through the barrel apertures in an extended position. The brush head and the bristle/handle assembly are not attached to each other, and instead they slide longitudinally relative to each other. When the handle and the barrel are slid apart from each other, the bristle rod travels with the handle to retract the bristles to a retracted positioned further within the barrel.
