  • Patent number: 10571052
Abstract: Mining methods and systems are disclosed for In-Situ Leaching (ISL) of the mineral ores. ISL extraction is conducted by injecting a suitable leach solution into the ore zone below the water table; oxidizing, complexing and mobilizing the minerals; recovering the pregnant (loaded) solutions through production wells (extraction wells or recovery wells); and, finally, pumping the minerals bearing solution to the surface for further processing. In these methods strips of fabrics saturated with resin are helically or non-helically wrapped around desired shape vertical mandrels, located over the wells, and the partially cured pipes are lowered into the wells to line the wells. These onsite manufactured pipes/linings are used to pump chemical solutions into the ores and subsequently to recover the pregnant (loaded) solutions.

At locations where the cover covers the electrodes, the cover comprises one or more openings dimensioned such that the one or more openings which facilitate electrical conduction to allow stimulation of tissue and/or measurement of electrical signal s by the electrodes while preventing tissue ingrowth. The support member can be of an advantageous structure, that would not be usable without the cover since tissue ingrowth would not allow the removal of the implant. At the same time, the cover still allows the stimulation of the tissue so that the functionality of the device is not prevented by the cover.

Abstract: A universal barrier system includes universal barrier components that may be assembled together to shield floors and walls from moisture and provide a thermal break in an operational area of the universal barrier component. A lap zone of the universal barrier component may allow universal barrier components to be assembled and installed to protect floors, walls, ceilings, footings and the like from moisture and heat gain or loss by minimizing the need for tapes and other joining methods. The universal barrier system may also act as a sound deadening material. The operational area and lap zone of the universal barrier component may be disposed on a vapor block layer to provide some rigidity. The operational area of the universal barrier component may include a thermal break disposed upon the vapor block layer. The thermal break may include an outer protective layer. In addition, universal barrier tape and universal barrier edging may be provided to couple adjoining universal barrier components.

Abstract: A hollow composite bicycle component is provided that basically provided with a hollow metallic member, a fiber-reinforced polymer member and a heat-ductile member. The fiber-reinforced polymer member is positioned inside the hollow metallic member. The heat-ductile member is positioned inside the fiber-reinforced polymer member, with the fiber-reinforced polymer member being adhered to an inner surface of the hollow metallic member. The fiber-reinforced polymer member is preferably adhered to the inner surface of the hollow metallic member by disposing the heat-ductile member with the fiber-reinforced polymer member disposed on the heat-ductile member within the hollow metallic member, and then heating heat-ductile member to expand the fiber-reinforced polymer member into contact with the inner surface of the metallic member.

Abstract: A method of mounting a flexographic printing plate includes disposing a backing tape on a printing plate cylinder forming a taped printing plate cylinder. A transverse center of the flexographic printing plate is attached to the taped printing plate cylinder at a mount line offset relative to a scribe line of the printing plate cylinder. A first portion of the flexographic printing plate is wrapped around a first portion of the taped printing plate cylinder from the mount line outward in a first direction away from the mount line. A second portion of the flexographic printing plate is wrapped around a second portion of the taped printing plate cylinder from the mount line outward in a second direction away from the mount line. The mount line is offset relative to the scribe line at a distance that ensures banding occurs in a non-patterned non-printing area of the flexographic printing plate.

Abstract: A method of manufacturing flexible insulated duct includes wrapping a substantially flexible tubular core with a layer of insulation. A substantially flexible outer layer is wrapped about the layer of insulation such that longitudinal edges of the outer layer circumferentially overlap to define a longitudinally extending seam. The overlapping longitudinal edges of longitudinally extending seam in the outer layer are bonded together, thereby forming the flexible insulated duct. The flexible insulated duct is then cut to a discrete length and installed at a job site.

Abstract: The described embodiment relates generally to the field of press-fit technology. Press-fit technology results in deformation of one component to lock another component in place. This deformation commonly causes surface strain to occur on the deforming component. When a component is anodized surface strain can result in anodization cracking; this ruins the finished appearance of cosmetic surfaces, generally resulting in ghosting lines and splotches appearing on the surface of a component. The described embodiment achieves a careful balance between component deformation and surface strain. By utilizing specific press-fit geometries and assembly methods, surface strain can be sufficiently limited to eliminate anodization cracking while also achieving a durable press-fit joint.
