  • Patent number: 7922858
Abstract: There is described a method for applying foil material (200) onto successive sheets (S), especially sheets of securities. In a first step, individual sheets (S) are transported in succession along a sheet transport path. In a second step, at least one continuous band of foil material (200) is applied onto the individual sheets (S) along a direction substantially parallel to a direction of displacement of the individual sheets, thereby forming a continuous flow of sheets linked to one another by the said at least one continuous band of foil material (200). In a third step, the said at least one continuous band of foil material (200) is cut such that the continuous flow of sheets is again separated into individual sheets (S) with portions of foil material (200*) remaining on the sheet. The cutting is performed at positions located on the sheets (S) such that said portions of foil material (200*) remaining on the sheets do not extend beyond leading and trailing edges of the sheets (S).

  • Patent number: 7918959
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a method for the production of a diaper having a main part comprising a front region, a back region, and a crotch region located there between that comes to rest between the user's legs in the longitudinal direction, and side sections attached on both sides. The method is characterized in that a material web forming the side sections is supplied in the longitudinal direction; the material recesses for attaining an oblique course or contouring of the side sections are formed by placing an opening with a continuous circumferential edge in the material web; the material web is then divided in the longitudinal direction and said separation runs through the opening; sections are removed from the two partial webs transversely to the longitudinal direction in order to form the side sections to be applied on both sides; and the sections are attached to the respective back region and/or to the front region.

  • Patent number: 7901534
Abstract: Diapers are made with substantial reduction of waste using a composite web of diaper main body material having a liquid impervious outer layer, a liquid pervious inner layer and an absorbent intermediate layer there between. The composite web has an indeterminate longitudinal extent substantially intact and uncut with parallel lateral side edge margins for substantially the entire web length. An independent web of diaper tab material is cut into discrete tab sections of predetermined mating shapes with substantially no unused waste material. The tab sections are affixed to the opposite edge margins of, and at regular longitudinal spacings along, the composite web. The composite web is cut transversely at regular longitudinal intervals there along corresponding to the spacings of the tab sections to produce discrete diapers each having a generally rectangular main body and four tabs at the respective corners of the main body.

  • Patent number: 7897233
Abstract: Adhesive antiskid material suitable for use with traction sensitive applications (such as a skateboard deck) is described herein. The adhesive antiskid material includes pieces that are visually distinguishable from each other. An adhesive patch layer of the adhesive antiskid material maintains the pieces in a single sheet for handling and application to the object of interest. The adhesive antiskid material may include a graphics layer and a clear or translucent filler grip piece that is applied over the graphics layer. This option allows stickers, advertisements, company logos, pictures, or any design element to be incorporated into the adhesive antiskid material itself.
