Abstract: The present invention aims to provide a method for bonding protective tapes to the cut edges of an electrode plate within a short period to prevent short circuit in an electrode assembly. An electrode plate cutting & tape bonding process includes (1) cutting an electrode plate into pieces 100a and 100b, (2) forming a gap W between edges 106 and 107 of the pieces 100a and 100b, (3) bonding protective tapes 51 and 52 to both sides of the pieces 100a and 100b, covering the edges and the gap, and (4) conveying the pieces 100a and 100b connected together. Next, the tapes 51 and 52 are cut into pieces 51a & 52a and 51b & 52b. Then, the electrode plate piece 100a with the tape pieces 51a & 52a and 51b & 52b is wound together with a negative electrode plate, with a separator sandwiched therebetween.

Abstract: The disclosure relates to a method for the production of a diaper having a main part comprising a front region, a back region, and a crotch region located there between that comes to rest between the user's legs in the longitudinal direction, and side sections attached on both sides. The method is characterized in that a material web forming the side sections is supplied in the longitudinal direction; the material recesses for attaining an oblique course or contouring of the side sections are formed by placing an opening with a continuous circumferential edge in the material web; the material web is then divided in the longitudinal direction and said separation runs through the opening; sections are removed from the two partial webs transversely to the longitudinal direction in order to form the side sections to be applied on both sides; and the sections are attached to the respective back region and/or to the front region.

  • Patent number: 7901534
Abstract: Diapers are made with substantial reduction of waste using a composite web of diaper main body material having a liquid impervious outer layer, a liquid pervious inner layer and an absorbent intermediate layer there between. The composite web has an indeterminate longitudinal extent substantially intact and uncut with parallel lateral side edge margins for substantially the entire web length. An independent web of diaper tab material is cut into discrete tab sections of predetermined mating shapes with substantially no unused waste material. The tab sections are affixed to the opposite edge margins of, and at regular longitudinal spacings along, the composite web. The composite web is cut transversely at regular longitudinal intervals there along corresponding to the spacings of the tab sections to produce discrete diapers each having a generally rectangular main body and four tabs at the respective corners of the main body.

  • Patent number: 7601238
Abstract: A heat-sensitive adhesive sheet is inserted into a printing device and heated by a thermal head to perform printing on a printable layer of the sheet. After printing, the heat-sensitive adhesive sheet is conveyed forward until the leading edge of the sheet abuts upon a guide roof member. While contacting the guide roof member, the leading edge of the heat-sensitive adhesive sheet is slid down and guided along the guide roof member to the nip portion of a pair of insertion rollers and is held at the nip. Once the insertion rollers have been halted, or have begun rotating slowly, the heat-sensitive adhesive sheet is conveyed further and deflected downward and assumes a concave shape. Then, the heat-sensitive adhesive sheet is cut to a predetermined length by a cutting device, and the heat-sensitive adhesive layer of the cut portion is heated and thermally activated by a thermal activation device.
