  • Patent number: 8357259
Abstract: According to the method, drops of an adhesive material are deposited on one of the plates, with the drops being spaced from one another. A grid having a predefined thickness lower than that of the drops is applied to the plate receiving the drops. A perpendicular and uniform pressure is applied to at least one of the plates, so that the drops spread and come into contact with the opposing sides of the two plates. The spacing of the drops is defined so that after spreading under the pressure applied, air is not trapped between the drops.

  • Patent number: 8349120
Abstract: A muco-adhesive patch for delivery of drugs into mucous membranes. On the muco-contact side, a water impermeable layer covers the center of the patch and less than half of the muco-contact side of the patch. Drugs may be added by mixing the drug with an adhesive material and placing a spot of the drug plus adhesive onto the exposed side of the water impermeable layer. A lenticular medical patch with a thin, tapered edge can be made with multiple layers by passing a single sheet such as a sheet of plastic through a production line in which each layer is applied in turn maintaining registration by reference to edges of the sheet or to marks on the sheet.

  • Patent number: 8345342
Abstract: A photochromic structure includes a plastic support of optical grade with good light transparency, having at least one face with an adhesive layer impregnated with a solution of a solvent with photochromes, having a flexible host matrix for the photochromes, which is mounted by adhesion onto another support. A structure with a uniform flexible photochromic matrix, which has rapid transition times, notably a rapid relaxation time, is thus obtained. The structure is mountable, and advantageously repositionable. It is produced via a process using roll-milling combined with a system for dispensing the solvated solution of photochromes upstream of the rolls, via which a support strip of an adhesive is entrained by the rolls, and the adhesive is gradually impregnated and then laminated on another support.

Abstract: A bundle (20) comprising two or more cases (2a, 2b), each case having a width (W) and a length (L). The cases are releasably attached together by attachment means (12) defining at least one twisting axis (T). The cases can be detached by being twisted apart along said twisting axis (T), and the width of each case is from 50 mm to 200 mm. A method of bundling together two cases with attachment means such as glue spots defining a twisting axis is also disclosed.

Abstract: Device for coupling two or more paper webs or plies by gluing, comprising gluing means destined to apply glue to a paper ply (N2) and pressure means which are located downstream of said gluing means and press more paper plies (N1, N2; N3) onto each other determining their coupling. The said gluing means comprise at least one body (1) provided with corresponding reliefs (R1) which apply the glue on predetermined gluing zones or areas of a paper ply (N2) advancing along a predetermined direction (F2) and said pressure means comprise a presser (3) which is located downstream of the said gluing means with respect to the said direction (F2) and is provided with corresponding reliefs (R3) which exert, on said paper plies (N1, N2; N3), a localized pressure on pressure zones or areas interfering with said gluing zones or areas, so that the glue passes through the glued ply (N2) only in correspondence of said pressure areas or zones.

Abstract: A paper attachment system and method includes providing a plurality of flexible panels. Each of the flexible panels has a first side, a second side and a peripheral edge. A plurality of adhesive patches is provided. Each of the panels has one of the adhesive patches attached thereto. The adhesive patches are positioned on the first sides of the panels. A plurality of coverings is provided. Each of the coverings is positioned on and removably attached to one of the adhesive patches so that each of the adhesive patches is covered by one of the coverings. A plurality of the panels is positioned on top of each other to define a stack of the panels. The coverings are then removed from the stack of the panels. Pressure is then applied to the stack of panels to releasably secure the panels together with the adhesive patches.
