Publication number: 20140076059Abstract: Techniques disclosed herein include systems and methods for pressure measurement of fluids including vehicular fluids. The pressure sensor includes a microelectromechanical system (MEMS) sensor for pressure measurement. The MEMS sensor is attached to a glass tube which is compressively sealed to a mounting frame that is attachable to a pressure port of a fluid-containing enclosure. Techniques disclosed herein provide an hermetic seal between the tube and the mounting frame and a rigid seal between the MEMS sensor to a pressure sensor while decoupling thermal expansion stress from the MEMS sensor. With such decoupling techniques, pressure sensing reliability and accuracy can be improved because thermal expansion stress is decoupled from the MEMS sensor. Such techniques provide an accurate, durable, and cost-effective pressure sensor.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 14, 2012Publication date: March 20, 2014Applicant: SENSATA TECHNOLOGIES, INC.Inventors: Erik Hop, Gerard Klaasse, Rob Slakhorst, Wico Hopman, Arnout van den Bos

Patent number: 8673097Abstract: Methods of forming a loop product are provided. Methods include needling polymeric fibers through a substrate to form hook-engageable loop structures of the fibers extending from one surface of the substrate and then using heat and pressure to soften and bond polymer of the fibers directly to the substrate and adjacent fibers, thereby anchoring the loop structures to resist fiber pullout under fastening loads. Loop products are also provided.Type: GrantFiled: June 5, 2008Date of Patent: March 18, 2014Assignee: Velcro Industries B.V.Inventors: James R. Barker, George A. Provost

Publication number: 20140072869Abstract: A tab lead including a first insulating film made of resin is adhered to one of surfaces of a part of a region of a metal plate in a length direction of the metal plate and a second insulating film made of resin is adhered to the other surface of the part of the region. Both end portions of the first insulating film and both end portions of the second insulating film are integrally welded to each other. First protruding portions protruding outward in a thickness direction of the first insulating film are formed at regions of the first insulating film corresponding to both widthwise side edges of the metal plate and vicinities thereof. Second protruding portions protruding outward in a thickness direction of the second insulating film are formed at regions of the second insulating film corresponding to both widthwise side edges of the metal plate and vicinities thereof.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 27, 2013Publication date: March 13, 2014Applicants: SHOWA DENKO K.K., SHOWA DENKO PACKAGING CO., LTD.Inventors: Hiroshi HATA, Takurou WATANABE

Publication number: 20140069548Abstract: The present invention addresses the problem of providing a resin end-face butt joint, a method for welding the joints, and a piping member, with which it is possible to ensure a sufficient clamping margin with the clamp of an ordinary welding machine and to ensure an appropriate distance between the centers even when joints having short tubular welding ring parts are welded, and with which it is possible to align the centers by positioning the centers along the same axis. The device for solving this problem is a resin end-face butt joint for which multiple welding ring parts (13, 14) which communicate with a flow path (15) within a joint base part (12) are provided on the joint base part, and fastening parts (18, 19) are provided so as to be coaxial with at least one of these welding ring parts at the outer end of the joint, for the purpose of clamping a welding machine.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 17, 2012Publication date: March 13, 2014Inventor: Takashi Hasegawa
