Intersecting Bend Axis Patents (Class 156/478)
  • Patent number: 11897718
Abstract: A tape applicator configured for applying a tape to a carton (e.g., for sealing and/or assembling the carton). The tape applicator may include an edge folder assembly having an edge folder roller operatively coupled to a support member that allows the edge folder roller to rotate around the support member. The edge folder assembly may also include an alignment assembly (e.g., a self-alignment assembly) that allows the edge folder roller to move axially along the support member. The alignment assembly may comprise one or more biasing members (e.g., springs, or the like) and/or one or more restraining members (e.g., washers, or the like) to aid in allowing the edge folder roller to rotate and/or move axially with respect to the one or more support members in order to account for shifting of the tape transversely through the tape applicator.

  • Patent number: 8726963
Abstract: An anti-vibrating tape dispenser of a carton sealing machine includes a stand erected on the carton sealing machine, a fixed shaft extended transversally from the stand, a sleeve provided for loading a tape and coaxially sheathed on the periphery of the fixed shaft, a slide mechanism installed on the stand and below the sleeve and including a slide rail slidably installed on a fixed rail, an abutting rod fixed onto the slide rail and extended in the same direction of the fixed shaft, an abutting roller sheathed on the abutting rod and abutted against the external periphery of the tape roller. As the external diameter of the tape roller varies, the abutting roller slides along the slide rail to abut against the external periphery of tape roller normally, and the abutting roller includes one-way bearings for limiting the abutting roller to rotate round the abutting rod in a direction only.

  • Patent number: 8622110
Abstract: In order to seal the corner joint of an elastoplastic tape placed as a spacer on a glass pane, a film strip is pressed with a first portion of its length against the first leg section of the spacer and the protruding portion of the film strip is wrapped around the corner and pressed against the second leg section. For the purpose of automating this process, the film strip is severed mechanically from an automatically supplied film tape and held via a transfer apparatus which thereafter presses the film strip with the first portion of its length against the first leg section. The portion of the film strip protruding freely over the corner is wrapped around the corner via a pressure carriage and pressed by tautening against the second leg section of the spacer.

  • Patent number: 8393375
Abstract: A commercial tape applicator capable of folding at least one side edge of a tape as it is fed to the applicator to provide an easily a gripped edge on the tape after it has been applied to the case. The invention provides a folding station on a dancer platform mounted on a dancer arm that has a nip roll at its free end and the arm is biased so that the nip roll is in contact with the periphery of a tape roll forming the source of tape and is usable to align the tape path through the folding station with the tape leaving the tape roll and accommodate deformation of the roll. A latch and cooperating cog wheel may be used to control the off feeding of the tape for the supply roll.

  • Patent number: 6494243
Abstract: A self-inflatable mattress is formed from an open pore foam core and one or more layers of dual melt film. Initially, a layer of dual melt film is placed on top of the open pore foam block such that the side with the lower melting temperature contacts the foam core. A non-stick, heat transferable buffer layer is then placed on top of the film and heat and pressure are applied, preferably through a roller, causing the bottom surface of the film to stick to the top surface of the foam core. The edges of the top sheet are also adhesably attached to the sides of the core using a pair of heated side pressure rollers. Lastly, the cushion is inverted and a second, or bottom, sheet of dual melt film is placed on top of the foam core and attached to the bottom surface and sides in a similar manner. Finally, a valve, which may be either oral, or one way, is attached to the side of the mattress.

  • Patent number: 5863369
Abstract: There is provided architectural molding apparatus including a supporting frame assembly and a paper roll assembly which delivers a continuous paper web via tension and drive rollers to an adhesive applicator where hot melt pressure sensitive adhesive is deposited on the web. The glue coated paper web passes over roller to a profiled polystyrene core at a set-up roller assembly. The core is delivered by a core feed assembly which is adapted to receive lengths of the core in abutting relation. The set-up roller assembly receives the core and urges the paper web glue side first into the core to form the molding assembly which passes to a laminating roller assembly adapted to urge the glue covered web into intimate contact with the profile face of the core. The molding assembly then passes to a series of rollers adapted to progressively fold and roll the web to completely wrap the core.

Abstract: A press, carried by a first table and having punch and die components, receives a rectangular filler sheet and forms a lateral accordian fold sheet. The accordian fold sheet is lifted from the press by transfer means and placed upon an envelope sheet overlaying a second table. Hinged panels carried by the second table fold the envelope sheet over the accordian fold sheet, forming a rigid compartmentalized panel having an opening along a longitudinal edge. The second table, with the opening upright, moves to a position under a receptacle from which granular loose fill material is entered into the compartments through the opening. Subsequently, flaps extending along the panels move to further fold the envelope sheet and close the opening.
