  • Patent number: 10843838
Abstract: An apparatus for and a process of applying labels to boxes are disclosed. A box (1) is received in a labeling zone. A label carrier (30) is vertically moveable relative to the labeling zone to place the center portion of a label (5) onto the upper side of the box. Two presser elements (21, 21?) arranged on two mutually opposite lateral sides of the labeling zone are downwardly moveable both relative to the labeling zone and relative to the label carrier so as to fold and apply end portions of the label onto the lateral sides of the box.

  • Patent number: 8726963
Abstract: An anti-vibrating tape dispenser of a carton sealing machine includes a stand erected on the carton sealing machine, a fixed shaft extended transversally from the stand, a sleeve provided for loading a tape and coaxially sheathed on the periphery of the fixed shaft, a slide mechanism installed on the stand and below the sleeve and including a slide rail slidably installed on a fixed rail, an abutting rod fixed onto the slide rail and extended in the same direction of the fixed shaft, an abutting roller sheathed on the abutting rod and abutted against the external periphery of the tape roller. As the external diameter of the tape roller varies, the abutting roller slides along the slide rail to abut against the external periphery of tape roller normally, and the abutting roller includes one-way bearings for limiting the abutting roller to rotate round the abutting rod in a direction only.

  • Patent number: 8393375
Abstract: A commercial tape applicator capable of folding at least one side edge of a tape as it is fed to the applicator to provide an easily a gripped edge on the tape after it has been applied to the case. The invention provides a folding station on a dancer platform mounted on a dancer arm that has a nip roll at its free end and the arm is biased so that the nip roll is in contact with the periphery of a tape roll forming the source of tape and is usable to align the tape path through the folding station with the tape leaving the tape roll and accommodate deformation of the roll. A latch and cooperating cog wheel may be used to control the off feeding of the tape for the supply roll.

  • Patent number: 5614042
Abstract: The present invention discloses a tape binding device winding a tape piece having an adhesive surface on one side around an electric wire bundle to bundle it. In the device, a pair of arms having a holding surface are lowered while holding the tape piece cut into a predetermined length on the holding surface. As it is lowered, free ends of both arms are lowered to both sides separated by a top portion of the electric wire bundle. At the time of lowering, after winding the tape piece by pressing it around a surface of the electric wire bundle, the free ends of both arms make adhesive surfaces of both ends of the tape piece under the electric wire bundle to adhere each other and are clipped between them, thereby laminating adhesive surfaces each other.

  • Patent number: 5520773
Abstract: A label applicator applies adhesive labels to opposite surfaces of a piece of stock. The labels are affixed to a backing sheet having turning strips on a leading edge thereof. The backing sheet is advanced along a label tray in a manner that peels a first portion of a label from the backing sheet and feeds the peeled portion to a transfer point. A piece of stock is placed on a stock tray such that the area to which the label is to be applied is under the transfer point. The stock tray is tilted to bring the first surface of the piece of stock into contact with the first portion of the label at the transfer point. Continued tilting of the stock tray causes the label to be squeezed between the stock and a plate and to peel a second portion from the backing sheet. The plate is linked to a wrapping roller by bars and levers.

  • Patent number: 5009741
Abstract: A device for the application of labels to packages, such as cigarette packs. Each label is applied to one or more faces or end portions of the pack. The application of the comparatively small labels to the packs can impair the performance of a packaging machine. According, the present mechanism continuously transfers the labels to packs, during the continuous transportation of each pack between two processing station by a label conveyor. The conveyor includes several label holders, each of which has a pocket to retain a package within. As the conveyor rotates between stations, the package is shifted within the pocket, and is forced through a label holder. The label holder, retains a label in a position perpendicular to the direction in which the package is moved. Thus as the package is forced through the label holder the label adheres to the package. In this manner, label application is achieved in a continuous process.

  • Patent number: 4846921
Abstract: A machine is provided for applying vertical tape courses to the ends of cartons. Cartridges carrying taping members are stroked downwardly to tape the cartons. Return or upwardly directed travel of the cartridges is either delayed while a taped carton is off-feeding from the machine or the taping arms and cutter in the cartridge are retracted to allow the cartridge to be immediately returned upwardly following taping. This precludes cartridge travel interfering with carton off-feed or carton entry to the taping station.

  • Patent number: 4596620
Abstract: The open cut edge of a cardboard blank is covered by a cover strip folded around the cut edge. The cover strip is cut from a band having a width corresponding to the length of the cut edge to be covered. The strip is held flatly on a folding device and is subsequently folded around the cut edge of the cardboard blank. On the folding device a folding slit is provided which may be slid, together with the cover strip, over the cut edge of the cardboard blank in a direction transversely of such edge.

  • Patent number: 4075053
Abstract: A device which applies a strip of masking tape to a pipe, particulary to the inside pipe surface. A frame carries a pair of rollers which roll along the inside pipe surface. The tape is mounted on a reel and is unwound in a strip which is pressed against the inside pipe surface by the rollers. An outer guide roller is carried on a hand lever assembly and is biased against the outside surface of the pipe in order to maintain the inner rollers against the inside pipe surface. The hand lever may be pulled away from the pipe to disengage the outer roller therefrom for removal of the applicator device from the pipe.

  • Patent number: 4012273
Abstract: Disclosed is a hand tool for wrapping sealing tape such as unsintered polytetrafluoroethylene around the end region of threads on a cylindrical conduit or pipe. The tool includes a holder for a tape dispenser which has mounted thereon a tape cutter so that the dispenser with a roll of tape rotatably held therein is a complete unit usable independently of the tool. The dispenser has a flange, however, which is slid into a groove in the tool and held frictionally therein by a leaf spring in only one predetermined position so that the free end of the tape is presented between a grooved roller and the threads of the pipe. A third roller, mounted on the end of a hand operated lever, is spring-pressed against the opposite side of the pipe wall so that the grooved roller is pressed against the tape to force the tape into the threads, the tool being rotatable about the pipe to wrap one or more turns of tape around the pipe threads.
