  • Publication number: 20030200629
Abstract: A Cam Hinge is a hinge mechanism that connects a Wing Framework to a horizontal Main Framework in a perpendicular orientation, and allows the Wing Framework to fold down and form a single close fitting platform in one plane. Such a hinge is generally used in portable staging and or folding wing systems. The Wing Framework folds down to a horizontal position and is supported by a leg in contact with the ground on the outside edge of the Wing Framework. At this point the cam lever is unlocked and rotated approximately 190 degrees to the final position creating a close fitting platform in one plane.

  • Patent number: 6088880
Abstract: A sliding shoe portion of a awning window hinge includes a cantilevered rail fitting within a channel of a track on which the shoe slides. A wedge screw placed between the fulcrum of the cantilevered portion and its open end deforms the rail to control the clearance between the rail and channel. The wedge screw may be displaced toward one longitudinal end of the shoe allowing its access when the awning hinge is assembled to a window and window frame with attached operator.

  • Patent number: 5966777
Abstract: A three point pivoting 360.degree. articulable pinchless hinge connects two members which may pivot 360.degree. with respect to each other. The hinge has two opposing couplers, each having a toothed semicircular portion meshed with the opposing coupler toothed semicircular portion. Each coupler is adapted to be connected to one of the members to be pivoted with respect to each other. A pin is in each coupler extending along an axis of the semicircular portion thereof. A link connects each pin to maintain the meshed engagement of the couplers through 360.degree. of coupler pivotal rotation with respect to each other. The link has a sufficient width substantially that of the width of the coupler body as to block and prevent the meshed semicircular portions from pinching an individual's finger or object.

  • Patent number: 5941011
Abstract: Solid rod-shaped hinges and articles incorporating the same, such as collapsible sports articles, e.g., landing nets and snow sticks. A tubular landing net frame and handle incorporates at least three rod-shaped hinges. The hinge for the landing net comprises a cylindrical base element with locking shoulders on each end with pin rotatable, cylindrical and hooked extension elements. The extension elements have slots to accommodate the pins on the base element. Each extension element has a spring-loaded locking button for interacting with first locking apertures in the tubular net frame and handle. Each hook on the extension element is connected to a spring, anchored within the tubular frame. The folding procedure only requires a pull on the landing net frame at the joints to dislodge the locking buttons to expand the anchor springs and engage the locking buttons in second (limited in diameter) apertures of the tubular frame, thus to hold the net and handle in the folded position.
