With Side Guides Patents (Class 160/172R)
  • Patent number: 6085823
Abstract: A window covering assembly has first and second rails adapted to be secured to first and second sides of a window frame, at least one resiliently tensionable cable member (16) extending between the first and second rails, and a flexible covering material (14) being supported and guided by the tensionable cable members between extended and contracted conditions of the material. Sliders (18) and locking mechanisms or clamps (44) are provided to tension the cable members (16). Each slider (18), to which at least one cable member (16) is attached, is manually longitudinally slidable along one of the rails and has a clamp associated with it, preferably a self-locking clamp formed on the slider, to clamp the slider at a desired location on the second rail (12).

  • Patent number: 6062291
Abstract: Base rail (12) and arch rail (13) frame holds horizontal slats (14). The frame (12, 13) is removable from a window opening for service. The slats (14) are mounted on ladders (17) with notches (31, 32) in the slats for removal individually. The base rail (12) opens down and receives a closure piece removable for access to the mechanism. Guide plates (21) on the arch rail (13) facilitate sliding the ladder cords (18, 19) forward and rearward for tilting the slats (14) without mechanism external to the base rail (12) or arch rail (13), other than the ladder cords (18, 19) themselves. The arch rail (13) inside face is channeled to receive slat ends to obscure direct line of sight through the assembly when the slats (14) are closed. Slat ends are chamfered for tilting the slats (14) without interference with the inner surface of the arch rail (13) when the slats (14) are closed.

  • Patent number: 6035920
Abstract: The screening arrangement, in particular a Venetian blind, is intended for installation in a roof window and comprises a screening length having a number of mutually connected elements as well as profile lists to be mounted on each of the side members of the sash and each having a track for receiving a structure displaceable along the track, the structure comprising a spring housing and a slide shoe. The slide shoe is provided with an abutment surface for the elements of the screening length during their gathering during raising of the screening arrangement. A bottom list of the screening length facing the bottom member of the frame is connected at each end with the displaceable structure and loaded in the direction of the bottom member of the sash by a coil spring rotatably mounted in the spring housing, the uncoiled portion of the spring extending in the track in question from the displaceable structure to a fixing point at the bottom member of the sash.

  • Patent number: 5983971
Abstract: A burglar- and weather-resistant cover for an opening such as a door or window. The cover includes a pair of opposed and generally parallel tracks with an upper housing extending therebetween. A plurality of louvers are generally parallel and connected to the upper housing by a first cable in a manner that allows the first cable to be coiled, and to a pair of second cables which engage the louvers in a manner that spaces the louvers at regular intervals. The cover further includes a pair of locking members, with each locking member coupled to one of the tracks an movable between a first position and a second position. The locking members are adapted to automatically move from the first to the second position when the louvers are deployed from a retracted position to a deployed position.

  • Patent number: 5954109
Abstract: The present invention relates to a modular window unit for an aircraft comprising a nonopaque lens and a reveal, the reveal joining the lens, as well as a shade comprising a multiplicity of discrete elongated panels, each panel cooperating with one another and being movable between an open and a closed position. The panels lay one next to the other to substantially cover the lens when the window shade is closed and, in an open position, lay stacked atop each other to substantially uncover the lens. Electric motors are provided for moving the panels of the shade between the open and closed positions.

  • Patent number: 5887637
Abstract: A covering system for apertures, such as windows, has a cross bar that is slidably mounted between a pair of tracks. Each end of the cross bar is connected to a belt that circulates in its respective track. The belts positively engage respective pulleys which are connected by a shaft. The cross bar is thereby prevented from becoming skewed as it is slid along the tracks. A locking device locks the cross bar at a desired position along the tracks. The free end of a roller blind may be connected to the cross bar. Preferably the roller blind turns with the pulleys and the belts are tapered so that the roller blind rolls and unrolls at the same rate that the cross bar is moved. This makes it unnecessary for the roller blind to be spring loaded. The cross bar may also be used to support horizontal or vertical slatted blinds.

  • Patent number: 5839492
Abstract: A window apparatus includes a window framework, a shading device and a control device. The window framework comprises a first pair of parallel frames, a second pair of parallel frames which are perpendicularly mounted between the first pair of parallel frames defining a window framework, and a pair of transparent boards which are mounted on the window framework in parallel manner to define a receiving chamber therebetween. The shading device comprises a plurality of slats and a supporting device for mounting the slats parallelly inside the receiving chamber, i.e. between the pair of transparent boards. The control device which is incorporated with the supporting device for adjusting various displacing angles of the slats, gathering the slats toward a side of the window frame, and distributing the slats over the receiving chamber.
