Vertical Type Patents (Class 160/172V)
  • Patent number: 6152205
Abstract: Window cover systems include window cover material in the form of pleated panels or slats. The window cover material is suspended from a traverse track and is traversed along the track for opening and closing the window system. Arrangements for maintaining spacing and alignment of pleats or slats are provided. The alignment maintaining arrangements include traverse tapes which are substantially rigid in longitudinal and lateral directions in the plane of the tape, and are flexible in a direction perpendicular to the tape. The arrangements also include attaching the window cover material to vertical edge members and providing foldable spacer-members between adjacent edge-members. In one arrangement, a box-pleated panel of window cover fabric is suspended from a traverse track on slide-members. The slide-members are each attached to a spacer-tape at regular intervals along the spacer-tape.

  • Patent number: 5836114
Abstract: Birds, especially, pigeons dislike the presence of a magnetic field because each bird has a biological instinctive ability of sensing the presence of the magnetic field. In order to utilize this biological instinctive sensing ability for the purpose of preventing birds from crowding at the upper part of a building, a plurality of magnetic members are disposed on an arm(s) turnably held at the uppermost end of a support column. When a bird perches on the arm, the latter is turned by the action of his own dead weight, resulting in the bird amazingly flying away from the arm. It is effective that a rotary wind blade having two magnetic members immovably secured to the opposite sides thereof is disposed at the uppermost end of each support column so as to largely affect the magnetic field induced by the magnetic members disposed on the arm and the magnetic members disposed on the rotary wind blade.

  • Patent number: 5458178
Abstract: A lattice for use in providing a security closure for an opening includes a plurality of elongated lattice members with individual sliders being integrated as a member of each of the plurality of elongated lattice members. A pair of hollow guide rails are provided. The plurality of elongated lattice members are slidably disposed substantially parallel with respect to each other and are spaced along a length of the pair of hollow guide rails with the individual sliders being engaged within a portion of the hollow guide rails. A cord member extends within the hollow guide rail and is attachable to each of the individual sliders for securing the positioning of the plurality of elongated lattice members in a first predetermined position.
