Abstract: A motorized window treatment system (e.g., a motorized blind system) may include a headrail, a covering material extending from the headrail, a battery compartment coupled to the headrail, a valance clip comprising a stationary portion coupled to the headrail and a movable portion configured to be coupled to the stationary portion such that the movable portion is movable from a first position to a second position, and a valance configured to be coupled to the movable portion of the valance clip. When the movable portion is in the first position, the valance may cover the battery compartment. When the movable portion is in the second position, the battery compartment may be at least partially exposed. The battery compartment may be configured to hold at least one battery for powering a drive unit of the motorized window treatment system.

Abstract: A battery-powered motorized window treatment for covering at least a portion of a window may be adjusted into a service position to allow for access to at least one battery that is powering the motorized window treatment. A headrail of the motorized window treatment may be adjusted to the service position to allow for easy replacement of the batteries without unmounting the headrail and without requiring tools. The motorized window treatment may comprise brackets having buttons that may be actuated to release the headrail from a locked position, such that the head rail may be rotated into the service position. The headrail easily rotates through a controlled movement into the service position, such that a user only needs one free hand available to move the motorized window treatment into the service position and change the batteries.

The light source may include at least one of a light bulb, light bar, light strip, LED lighting or reflective device. The light source may be LED lighting that is modular or provides different colors over the window shade fabric. The light source may include a lens. The light source may be at least one of removeable from the first bracket or rotatable within the first bracket. The light source may be at least one of between the window shade and the window, or between the room and the window shade.

Abstract: A valance system for a window covering that can be folded and placed within the same shipping box as a wall bracket, top bracket and track sections. The valance extends a length between opposing ends and includes a clip feature that extends out from its rearward side. The clip feature is generally C-shaped or U-shaped when viewed from the side and includes a plurality of friction members in its exterior surface. The valance is covered with a covering material. An end cap having a hinge area that facilitates bending of the end cap is connected to the ends of the valance by connection of a tongue of the end cap to a slot of the valance. The clip feature is sized and shaped to frictionally fit within and be installed within a socket of a top bracket without any tools.

The brackets may form a channel between the bracket and the inside surface of the pocket. The roller shade may be able to be removed after the bracket is removed. The pocket may also be comprised of a first component having a first engagement device and a second component having a second engagement device, wherein the first engagement device engages the second engagement device to form the pocket.

The tongue portion (29) has an abutment face (33) disposed for assisting with prising apart the mounting device and the track by turning a tool, simultaneous with the operation of the tool against the tongue portion. The abutment face is opposed to and spaced from the track in use.

Abstract: A slide lock to releasably secure a roller blind fascia to the end plate of a roller blind. The slide lock comprises a lock body slidably received along an interior surface of the fascia. The lock body has an engaged position, where the lock releasably secures the fascia to the roller blind end plate, and has a disengaged position, where the lock releases the fascia from the end plate to permit the fascia to be removed therefrom. The lock body includes a flexibly resilient leg member that releasably engages between the fascia and the roller blind end plate. The leg member includes a deflection zone such that when the leg member engages between the fascia and the roller blind end plate at least a portion of the leg member is compressed or deflected about the deflection zone to releasably secure the lock body between the roller blind end plate and the fascia, thereby releasably securing the fascia to the end plate.

The all-around screen is secured tightly to all four sides of the air conditioner with an elastic seam. Abstract: A folding shade used with a cell phone or tablet computer to improve visibility of the device's display in bright light environments. The shade includes a top panel, two perpendicular side panels, a top extension panel, and an optional rear edge lip. Disposed between the top panel and the side panels and between the extension panel and rear edge lip are living hinges that enable the shade to be shipped and stored in a flat configuration and selectively folded into a three sided structure positioned. During installation, the top panel extends perpendicularly outward from the device's front surface and aligned with the top panel. The two side panels are unfolded and extend downward perpendicularly aligned with the top panel. The extension panel is positioned over the top horizontal surface and the rear edge lip is extended around the back. Clamping surfaces are then used to hold extension panel against a top horizontal surface.

Abstract: A simplified and light-weight cornice or valance system that can be manufactured along with a window covering in colors and patterns to match, shipped flat, and easily installed with the window covering is disclosed. The cornice or valance system may include a single-piece core with a foldable region near each end, the foldable regions defining a central non-foldable region and an end return non-foldable region at each end of the central non-foldable region; and an angle bracket for coupling to each side of a selected foldable region to retain a desired angle between the central non-foldable region and the respective end return non-foldable region.

Abstract: A modular valance structure includes a fabric valance body, a zipper and a fabric cover. The fabric valance body includes a plurality of adjacent spaced apart openings, and the zipper is connected to the fabric valance body. Therefore, an easily detachable and attachable structure for cleaning purposes without removing the entire assembly is achieved. Also, it is to permit the user to easily change the curtain to change colors, or design for aesthetic purposes.

A façade is removably coupled to the return via at least one fastening device. Each fastening device is configured to be repeatedly fastened and unfastened.

Abstract: Example panel assemblies with frost inhibiting seal members are disclosed herein. Some example panel assemblies disclosed herein are particularly suited for creating a blast freezer (for food and other products) by using the panels in cordoning off a relatively small quick-freeze area within a larger freezer room. In some examples disclosed herein, a touch-and-hold fastener (e.g., VELCRO) connects two or more insulated flexible panels along their adjoining vertical edges to span the width of a supporting frame that is wider than a width of a single panel. To seal the joint and/or inhibit frost from developing along the joint, some example panel assemblies disclosed herein include a seal member with touch-and-hold elements plus sealing edges extending laterally in opposite directions. In some examples disclosed herein, the touch-and-hold elements couple two panels together while the sealing edges (e.g., foam strip or double looped sheet of material) block air from flowing through the touch-and-hold elements.

Abstract: A magnetic window valance is disclosed. The magnetic window valance can include a sheet of ferromagnetic material, and a decorative layer disposed about the sheet of ferromagnetic material. The magnetic window valance can also include a curtain rod coupling portion extending in a first direction from the decorative layer, and a tab extending in a second direction from the decorative layer and supporting a magnet configured to couple with a proximal magnetic window valance.

The sides of the mounting surface may include cut-outs for aligning multiple brackets. An optional screw-mounting system comprising corresponding holes in the clip, or a tab-mounting system, provide for connecting accessories to the bracket. A cornice centered around a spine element mounted to the bracket. The cornice has a front face and returns attached to either side of the front face, forming the structure. The spine is designed to fit into a plurality of brackets bent to provide backward pressure on the cornice, pulling it toward a mounting surface. The cornice is mounted by fixing the brackets onto a mounting surface and placing the spine of the cornice onto the brackets.

Abstract: A rail for use in a covering for an architectural opening to secure one edge of a retractable shade material includes a recess opening toward the top or bottom of the rail with the recess being adapted to secure an associated edge of the shade material so that the shade material covers a front of the rail to conceal it from view. The edge of the shade material can be releasably retained within the recess by being connected to a removable insert that can be slidably or otherwise retained within the recess. The recess opens upwardly when the rail is used as a headrail or downwardly when the rail is used as a bottom rail.

Abstract: The invention relates to a curtain support assembly to receive a curtain rail for a curtain for separating at least two regions in a cabin of a vehicle, comprising two or more header components for covering a space formed between the curtain rail and a ceiling in the cabin. The assembly according to the invention distinguishes itself from the state of the art in that between the header elements, for the purpose of holding objects, a hollow space is formed that is accessible by way of one or several closable openings to the cabin. In a further improvement, a roller is integrated in the hollow space, by way of which roller the curtain may be rolled up or down and may easily be stowed away.

The plurality of sheet fastener elements are positioned along and adjacent the sheet perimeter in a quantity and spacing over the entirety of the sheet perimeter to be attached to respective ones of the structural member fastener elements for hanging various other edge portions of the curtain sheet from the structural member so that the curtain can be hung from the structural member in a variety of alternative origami-like patterns.

The retractable cover may be rolled out and opened using a pulley system (23) having pulley cables (16), pulleys (17) and/or rollers (24). The pulley system may be operated manually or automatically from fixed controls (18) or remote controls (19). Retractable shades/covers may be installed in every section of a screened enclosure or only in certain desired sections of the screened enclosure depending on a user's desire for privacy, shade and/or comfort level. In addition, a retractable cover may be installed horizontally along the length of a screened enclosure or patio opening to cover multiple sections of a screened enclosure.

A rod supporting member such as a ring or hook is removably attached to the arm and is adapted to receive and support a drapery rod. The rod supporting member can be removed from the support arm and attached directly to a surface to provide an inside mount for the rod. A separate mounting clip may be used to mount the rod supporting member to the surface. the mounting clip may be provided with a rod engaging element for centering the rod and a surface engaging element for fixing the position of the rod supporting member on the surface.

Abstract: An adjustable hanging apparatus for blind valances is provided. The hanging apparatus includes a hanging device and a mounting device. The hanging device has a hook, which can be slidably hooked over a headrail. In addition, a base of the hanging device has an opening. The opening is disposed with two resilient mounting plates, and each mounting plate has a plurality of troughs. A neck portion is formed therebetween the mounting plates. The mounting device has a joint portion, which can engage with the valance. Also, a jam portion passes through the neck portion and mounted therein. Positioning flanges can be engaged with the troughs of the mounting plates so as to limit the vertical movement of the mounting device, and the mounting device can be inserted through the opening in the vertical direction of any positions to adjust the valance to desired positions.

Abstract: A curtain assembly (10) to cover and protect an opening in a structure, such as a window (11), includes side rails (14) which extend between a header (12) and a sill (13). A roller (19) is positioned in the header (12) and carries a fabric curtain (15). Tabs (20) extend outwardly from the lateral edges (18) of the curtain (15), and at least some of the tabs (20) carry at least one retention member (21, 22 or 23). Tabs (15) and the retention members (21, 22 or 23) are received in a compartment (39) in the side rails (14). Flap walls (40, 52) form a portion of the compartments (39) and are spaced from each other. The curtain (15) can extend through the space (56) but the retention members (21, 22 or 23) cannot. As a result, upon impact against the curtain, the retention members (21, 22 or 23) engage the flap walls (40, 52) which engage the curtain (15) and the curtain (15) is maintained in the side rails (14).

Abstract: A specialized angle valence junction fitting forms a joint for connecting two lengths of valence molding. The fitting has a pair of openings angled apart and has an internal shape matching an external shape of the molding utilized. The specialized angle joint may have a color to match or accent two lengths of molding and has an external dimension which is only about 1.5 millimeters greater than the dimension of the molding which it surrounds. Valence junction fitting can have an end edge which is straight, or beveled to imply a more stabilized or substantial relationship to the molding.

The system further includes at least one retainer on the face section configured to engage a bracket for attaching the cornice system to a mounting surface. An opening may be provided on the sections to receive a portion of a cover material, so that the cover material may be applied over at least a portion of the face section.

Abstract: A retractable pool privacy device 10 for attachment to a screened patio or pool enclosure 2, the device 10 has: a frame 12 for attachment to a frame 3 of the patio or pool enclosure 2; a flexible privacy layer 20 stowed inside the frame 12; a means 40 or 50 for winding and unwinding the privacy layer 20; and wherein the frame 12 has a opening 14 through which the flexible privacy layer 20 can be withdrawn to extend outwardly to provide a visual privacy barrier. The frame 12 is shaped in a substantially square or rectangular tubular cross section having at least a one side open for allowing the privacy layer 20 to pass and has a pair of ends 12A, 12B, each end having attachment or holding structures 15, 16 for supporting the flexible privacy layer 20. A rotatable rod 22 for attaching the privacy layer 20 thereto is preferably used. The rod 22 is rotatably supported at each end 27, 28 to the attachment or holding structures 15, 16.

Abstract: A window blind safety device that fully conceals the lift cords and continuously maintains tension on the lift cords located between the slats of the blind. The present invention comprises a back plate for mounting adjacent to a window; a slide movably attached to the back plate and fastened to the lift cords; a front cover attached to the back plate for concealing the lift cords, wherein the front cover comprises a longitudinal slot and a plurality of retaining notches, wherein the front cover is adapted for receiving the lift cords; a handle engaging the slide for adjusting the height of the blinds; and a shank fastener attached to the upper portion of the back plate.

Abstract: An adjustable hanging apparatus for blind valances is provided. The hanging apparatus includes a hanging device and a mounting device. The hanging device has a hook, which can be slidably hooked over a headrail. In addition, a base of the hanging device has an opening. The opening is disposed with two resilient mounting plates, and each mounting plate has a plurality of troughs. A neck portion is formed therebetween the mounting plates. The mounting device has a joint portion, which can engage with the valance. Also, a jam portion passes through the neck portion and mounted therein. Positioning flanges can be engaged with the troughs of the mounting plates so as to limit the vertical movement of the mounting device, and the mounting device can be inserted through the opening in the vertical direction of any positions to adjust the valance to desired positions.

The fabric cover has a periphery sized to extend beyond the exterior surfaces of the front and side panels on all sides with fasteners positioned through the fabric cover adjacent to its periphery into the panels.

The kit comprises a shutter cover which covers a portion or a substantial portion of the window shutter. The kit may further include an attachment member that attaches to the top of the window shutter. The top of the shutter cover and the attachment member can connect to each other. The kit may further comprise a securing member for securing the bottom of the shutter cover to the window shutter. The shutter cover may include a graphic display thereon, such as decorative or artistic representations. Additional interchangeable shutter covers may also be provided with the same or different graphic displays depicted thereon.

In accordance with the present invention, a lightweight cornices is provided that substantially eliminates or reduces the disadvantages associated with prior developed lightweight cornices.

The clamp base has an opening in a front wall, and a chamber extends longitudinally behind the opening. At least a clamp member is formed within the chamber with one end extends from the edge of the aforesaid opening and the opposite end has a projecting portion to define a smaller neck-like aperture at interior of the chamber. The fixing member includes a bottom plate with one surface being releasably gripped into the hanging block and the other surface being secured to the decorative plate, and a generally horizontal tenon with an end head formed sidewise at position respectively to the clamp member projecting forwardly from the bottom plate.

Abstract: This architectural assembly includes a wall, and a structure supported on the wall over a top portion of the opening. The structure has a light transmission portion permitting light from the opening to pass therethrough. The structure comprises a lower and an upper frame structures. A transparent or translucent, preferably stained-glass, panel is secured between the cornice members using a silicone or other adhesive material. The upper and lower frame structures each have a groove therein facing the groove of the other that receives the adhesive and the glass. A top panel cover structure covers the upper frame stucture. A method for efficiently manufacturing the structure is also provided.

The adjustable window cornice includes an elongated member having a front end and a cornice pivotally mountable on a front end of the elongated member. The jamb and casement system has a jamb that is sized and configured to fit within the window opening. A casement is connected to the first side of the jamb. An inner covering trim is also provided. A portion of the inner covering trim overlays a portion of the front face of the jamb and extends beyond the front face of the jamb adjacent the second side of the jamb.

Abstract: A modular cornice system includes at least one substantially rigid face section and at least one substantially rigid return section having a connector configured to couple the return section and the face section. The system further includes at least one retainer on the face section configured to engage a bracket for attaching the cornice system to a mounting surface. An opening may be provided on the sections to receive a portion of a cover material, so that the cover material may be applied over at least a portion of the face section.

Abstract: A decorative device, such as a cornice, for crowing a variety of architectural structures also having modular and interchangeable components is disclosed. In one embodiment, a cornice comprises a horizontal base unit having a face section, a top and a bottom, and one or more interchangeable decorative modules. A decorative centerpiece for the cornice is also disclosed. Additionally, the disclosure includes novel means for attaching particular components to one another. In the preferred embodiments, the components are wood.

Abstract: A system for mounting a covering for an architectural opening in the architectural opening includes a bracket in which an edge of the headrail for the covering can be inserted and a releasable locking system operative with a slide member to securely lock the headrail to the bracket in one position and allow the headrail to be easily removed from the bracket in a different position of the slide.
