Abstract: A side shade for an awning includes a mounting member having a top end, a bottom end, a hook at the top end and a vertical groove extending from the top end to the bottom end. The mounting member is removably connectable by the hook to the awning near an attachment support of the awning. At least a portion of a stiffening member and a first vertical side of the fabric panel are slidingly disposed within the vertical groove of the mounting member. When assembled and attached to the awning the fabric panel of the side shade is vertically adjustably positionable above or below a lateral side of a predominantly horizontal panel of the awning so that there is no vertical gap between the panel of the awning and the fabric panel of the side shade through which direct light can penetrate.

Abstract: A retractable rigid window awning includes a number of U-shaped panels pivotally attached to a building on the sides of a window. In the retracted position, the panels are disposed above the window, in tiers. Each panel has a pair of actuators that enable its extension and retraction. Each actuator is attached to the panel at one end and to a movable nut at the other end via articulated joints. The nuts are installed on a driving screw attached to the building. The awning is extended by rotating the screw, which causes the nuts to travel along the screw. The actuators push their respective panels out and tilt them down. Depending on the length of actuators, panels travel different distances from the building creating a continuous shade over the window. The awning is retracted by rotating the screw in the opposite direction.

Abstract: An awning construction for a camping accommodation or the like, comprising a roof and at least one side wall, as well as a container which is mountable on a wall of a camping accommodation, which is arranged to include, in a closed position of rest, at least the tent cloth of an awning, wherein the container comprises, in mounted condition, a substantially horizontal and at least one substantially vertical section, which container further has an open position to take the awning out of the container and put it up and wherein the container is further provided with fixing means for an edge of the tent cloth of the awning, located, in the operative position, in the container.

Abstract: A window awning system comprises an awning fabric defining an upper edge with a hollow hem formed therein and a lower edge with grommets. An extrusion mounts on the wall. Apertures in a face portion receive wall fasteners and an outwardly extending C-shaped channel. A hem rope is contained within the hem. The hem and rope are then fed into the C-shaped channel. A pair of hollow wall posts have an inboard wall mounting end and an outboard free end. The inboard end has a flat rectangular plate. Each outboard free end receives an end cap. A perimeter cable has a central section passing through holes in the end caps and attaches to the extrusion by the use of metal wire crimps. A lashing rope passes through each grommet of the awning fabric and encompasses the perimeter cable with each pass for securement of the fabric from below.

Abstract: A window screen installation system for releasably mounting a screen fabric or other pliable sheet material in such a manner as to self-tighten the fabric or material during installation. Moreover, the screen frame and trim mold are designed to allow for the mounting of the fabric or material without damaging the same such that it may be removed and reused as required. A screen is disposed and held securely in place between a screen frame extrusion member and a trim mold. The screen frame extrusion defines a mounting surface disposed below and parallel to an exterior face. A mounting rib extends along the mounting surface and terminates below the exterior face in the preferred embodiment. A bead is defined at the terminal edge of the mounting rib to serve as a locking mechanism. The trim mold defines a channel opening on the bottom surface thereof to closely receive the mounting rib of the screen frame extrusion.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a device for shielding a shed entrance, particularly during loading and/or unloading of a vehicle parked thereagainst, comprising: a wall-mounted frame arranged on an outside wall round the shed entrance; a hanging frame which is held in a plane substantially parallel to that of the wall-mounted frame and at a distance therefrom with resilient separating means; and at lest one fabric element extending at least over the distance between the wall-mounted frame and the hanging frame. The wall-mounted frame and the hanging frame are each formed from at least one hollow profile and at least one open profile, wherein the hollow profile and the open profile form a unit.

Abstract: A header is received within an interior of a vehicle and secured against the roof portion thereof to extend transversely with respect to the front to back directions of the vehicle. The header supports a roller which in turn supports a flexible transparent or clear curtain which may be drawn downwardly to provide a portion of the vehicle air barrier to divide one portion of a vehicle interior from the other. A pair of side curtains are provided along each edge of the center curtain and are extendable outwardly to provide a further barrier to air circulation or air flow past the barrier. In one embodiment, the side curtains are formed of a flexible material and are hingedly secured to the vertical edges of the center curtain. In an alternate embodiment, a pair of side rollers are pivotally secured to the header and support respective side curtains which may be extended downwardly and drawn outwardly to complete the air barrier.

Abstract: A double channel mounting strip is provided for a fabric-covered awning with a beaded end of the covering fabric secured in place in one of the channels and a beaded end of a flap fabric is held in place in the other channel so that the flap hangs down in a uniform and smooth unruffled fashion when the covering fabric is pulled taut on the awning mounting frame.

Abstract: A shield device or assembly for a bridge-mounted highway sign has upper and side panels forming a frame surrounding and projecting outwardly from the upper and side edges of the sign, so as to shield the front face of the sign from view from the bridge. The panels are secured to the sign by upper and side mounting devices, which may be arranged so that the panels flare outwardly at angles greater than 90.degree. to the front face of the sign. Corner pieces fill in the corners between the panels at the upper corners of the sign.

Abstract: An awning structure of the type having a frame work in which some parts are bent into a radius, and a fabric cover secured snugly over the frame, the curved frame parts extending generally between a vertical and a lower portion, and some of the frame parts being of identical cross-section, defining a generally U-shaped channel, with opposed side walls, and a bottom wall joining the side walls, and the side walls defining an open mouth remote from the bottom wall, an intermediate bracing wall extending from the bottom wall between the side walls, the side walls and the intermediate wall lying in planes parallel to one another and spaced apart from one another, and the intermediate wall defining a free edge, terminating substantially adjacent the open mouth, a bridge wall extending between each side wall and the intermediate wall, the bridge wall being spaced inwardly from the open mouth, and defining a generally arch shape in section.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for washing pulp according to which method the pulp is supplied onto a movable liquid-pervious support surface (2) to form a substantially continuous layer (7); and washing liquid is supplied to the pulp layer and passed in several successive washing phases through different areas of the layer in such a way that the washing liquid gradually flows in the opposite direction compared with the flow direction of the pulp layer. According to the invention the washing liquid is divided in two or more partial flows which pass alternately through different washing phases in such a way that the washing liquid which in one phase has passed through the pulp layer flows past at least the washing phase preceding it in the flow direction of the pulp layer. The apparatus of the invention preferably comprises a rotating cylinder (1) the casting surface (2) of which serves as the liquid-pervious support surface for the pulp.

Abstract: An awning having a modular frame with frame pieces, having longitudinal recesses, junctions joining the frame pieces to form a composite awning frame, flexible plastic panels stretched over the composite frame and fastened in the longitudinal recesses, and, elongated flexible wedging strips shaped to be force-fitted into the recesses together with portions of the flexible panels thereby wedging the portions of the flexible panels and securing them.
