Including Means To Vent Die Cavity Or Gate Patents (Class 164/305)
  • Patent number: 11498120
Abstract: A molding apparatus for obtaining an annular molded article has a fixed die D1 and a movable die D2 capable of forming an annular cavity C. A first block B1 and a second block B2 are formed inside the cavity C in the fixed and movable dies D1 and D2. The blocks form a flow channel R communicating with the cavity C. Thus, gas generated in the cavity C and a molten metal can flow in the flow channel R. A discharge hole B2b is formed in the second block B2 to discharge the gas flowing in the flow channel R to the outside. A forming surface of the flow channel R, in the first and second blocks B1 and B2, is formed in an outer circumferential shape following an inner circumferential shape of the cavity C.

Abstract: The venting valve assembly for casting moulds comprises a venting valve for closing a venting channel. The venting valve comprises a valve housing in which a closure member is received that is movable between an open position and a closed position. The closure member can be frictionally locked in its open position and simultaneously biased in closing direction. For frictionally locking the closure member, a chamber is provided that can be put under a hydraulic overpressure. The chamber has a wall portion that bulges towards the closure member in response to the overpressure. The wall portion is resilient such that it moves back to a position releasing the closure member once the overpressure in the chamber is reduced. For reducing the pressure in the chamber, a release valve is provided which is controlled by a sensor detecting any casting material penetrating into the venting channel. The biasing of the closure member in closing direction is performed pneumatically.

  • Patent number: 6513568
Abstract: The valve assembly for venting die casting molds includes a venting channel, a venting valve communicating with the venting channel, as well as an actuating device for closing the venting valve. The actuating device includes a power pick-up member that is axially movable under the influence of the liquid casting material entering the venting channel. The venting valve includes a closure member biased against a stop member and operatively connected to an actuating element. The stop member is pivotable by the power pick-up member such that the closure member of the venting valve is displaced from its open position to its closed position under the influence of the actuating element. Thereby, a reliable closing of the venting valve is ensured, even under unfavorable operating conditions.

Abstract: A vacuum valve for die casing machine comprises a valve seat, a bottom die and a top die and a wavy lead-in runner between the bottom and top die. The bottom die has a vent hole and the top die has a feed-in inlet. The valve seat has an accommodating tank enclosing two gears, each gear engaged with one tooth rack. An induction rod is arranged on the tooth rack near the feed-in inlet and passing through an induction hole on the bottom die. A control rod is arranged on the tooth rack near the vent hole and passes through a valve hole on the bottom die. The control rod has a plurality of axial slots on one end thereof. The axial slots are initially exposed out of the valve hole and moved with the control rod to indent into the valve hole to seal the valve hole.

  • Patent number: 6425433
Abstract: An apparatus to inject molten material into and evacuate gasses from a mold cavity, including a pair of ganged pistons in communication with the mold cavity. An injection piston injects molten material into the cavity from the bottom, and a vacuum piston pulls a vacuum in the cavity from the top through a vacuum line. A filter in the vacuum line catches any material that escapes from the mold cavity. A vacuum regulator may selectively regulate the vacuum in the vacuum line. During the injection sequence's first phase, a vacuum is created at a rate proportional to the rate of injection. Part-way through the piston stroke, a second phase is entered and causes a vacuum break valve to open and control the amount of vacuum. The injection sequence has a step function velocity, with the second phase being at a much higher velocity than the first.

Abstract: In order to vent a diecasting mold of a diecasting machine, it is proposed that the mold cavity and/or the pressure chamber are vented during the filling operation by a second venting valve, additionally to a first venting valve. The first venting valve is located in a venting channel portion that communicates with a venting channel leading out of the mold cavity. For operating the first venting valve, an impact transmitter is provided that is operationally connected to the first venting valve and that is exposed to and moved by the casting material advancing from the mold cavity to the venting channel. The second venting valve is operated by separate independent means and is closed before the mold cavity is completely filled. As a criterion for closing the second venting valve, the length of the path can be used along which the casting piston runs during the filling operation.

  • Patent number: 6158495
Abstract: In the venting valve device for die-casting, the evacuation valve which is intended to be closed comprises an evacuation piston and is actuatable by a pneumatic control piston which is in the form of a double-acting differential piston, whereby one of its pressure surfaces is supplied with compressed air by a high response valve in order to open while its other pressure surface is supplied with compressed air by a second control valve in order to close. The high response valve is provided with a vent in order to reduce the pressure maintaining the control piston in the open position within a very short time and thus to ensure a very short closing time of the evacuation piston. While being simple in construction, such a venting valve allows a very short closing time and is therefore particularly suitable also for high-speed die-casting.
