A structure rotates with the inner mandrel, the structure including a flow inductive profile exposed to a bearing lubricant flow path.

    Abstract: A wellhead assembly includes a wellhead housing having a bore with a wellhead housing sidewall and a longitudinal axis. A hanger lands in the bore, the hanger having a hanger sidewall. Parallel circumferentially extending hanger sidewall ridges are located on the hanger sidewall. Each of the hanger sidewall ridges have upper and lower flanks that converge to a crest. Hanger sidewall bands are located between adjacent ones of the hanger sidewall ridges. A metal seal ring has an outer seal surface in metal-to-metal sealing engagement with the wellhead housing sidewall and an inner seal surface in metal-to-metal sealing engagement with the hanger sidewall bands. Crests of the hanger sidewall ridges embed into the inner seal surface to restrict relative movement between the hanger and the seal ring. A recess extends through each of the hanger sidewall ridges from the upper flank to the lower flank to allow any fluid trapped between the hanger sidewall ridges to flow out.

    Abstract: A pipe handler trailer assists with the handling of very large and heavy pipes that are regularly raised to and lowered from an elevated surfaces. A height adjustment assembly sets the maximum height that a skidway will reach when a lift cylinder is fully extended and lift arms are thereby rotated. Located within lift arms are toothed racks. An adjustment block couples the skidway to lift arms through the racks and also supports locking blocks that have teeth complementary to the teeth on the racks. A lock will vary from firm contact with the inner wall of lift arms to having a gap there between. When the lock engages the inner wall of the lift arm this drives the complementary teeth into secure engagement with the rack teeth, which can then rigidly support heavy load without motion.

With this configuration, the upper scaffold portion is located on the upper ends of the smoke funnels, and thus there is no possibility of contact between the scaffolds in the smoke funnels causing a worker to lose his balance, thereby improving safety.

    Abstract: A method for lubricating a downhole tool into a wellbore with a lubricator assembly comprising a hydraulic cylinder with a cylinder and a rod and a pressure isolation assembly connected to the bottom of the cylinder of the hydraulic cylinder. The pressure isolation assembly has a base, a top, a plurality of posts supporting the top in a spaced apart relationship to the base, and a seal assembly supported by the base and configured to seal around the rod. The seal assembly includes a packing flange body having a flange portion and a tubular portion formed as a one piece unit. The flange portion extends across a portion of a lower side of the base and the tubular portion extends through base. The rod extends through the seal assembly of the pressure isolation assembly.

    Abstract: A rigidizer and method for its use in supporting a tubular string during handling operations. The rigidizer includes upper and lower sleeves which pivotally open and close to clamp about the string. The upper and lower sleeves are rigidly connected by a number of structural telescopic legs that allow adjustment to different lengths for accommodating different strings.     Abstract: A spider and method for supporting a tubular within a well bore. Radial dogs, controlled by cylinders that extend and retract simultaneously, are operable to support the tubular by the lower lip of a box connector. When a tubular connector is set down upon the dogs so as to depress one or more triggers located thereon, an interlock in a control system is actuated to prevent movement of the dogs. However, even while the spider is thus loaded, the dogs may nevertheless be retracted via an emergency override mechanism thereby allowing the tubular to be dropped into the wellbore. When the tubular has been lifted off of the triggers, the interlock is deactivated, and the dogs of the spider can be operated once again. The triggers may actuate sensor valves located within the dogs, which in turn actuates an interlock valve isolating the flow path of the cylinders.

    Abstract: A system and method is provided for hydraulically presetting a metal-to-metal seal, which may be installed in an annular space between wellhead components. A hydraulic running tool may be landed on a first wellhead component and coupled to a second wellhead component, for example, via a hydraulic or mechanical coupling assembly. Fluid pressure may then be applied to the hydraulic running tool to move the components axially together, thereby setting the metal-to-metal seal (i.e., axially compressing and radially expanding the seal). A coupling may secure the wellhead components in place relative to one another, while fluid pressure is being applied so that the metal-to-metal seal remains in the set position after the hydraulic tool is removed.
