  • Patent number: 7462775
Abstract: An adjustable electrical box assembly for mounting an electrical device on a stone wall either flush with the wall or at a desired offset. The assembly includes a base member, anchoring members, an electrical box, and an optional base extender. For a wall constructed of narrow depth stones, the base member is mounted directly to the substrate using the anchoring members. For a wall constructed of thick stones, the base member and base extender are secured together with the anchoring members and the assembly is secured to the substrate. The offset of the electrical box from the wall surface is set by adjusting the position of attachment of the anchoring members with respect to the sidewalls of the base member and base extender. The electrical box is adapted to receive a light fixture or similar electrical device.

Abstract: A cable assembly may be provided. The cable assembly may comprise a conductor core and a binding element. The binding elements may be configured helically around the conductor core. In addition, the binding element may be configured to, when the cable assembly is pushed through a conduit having at least one sweep, eliminate buckling of the cable assembly. Moreover, the binding element may be configured to cause a first pushing force on the cable assembly having a magnitude less than a second pushing force on the cable assembly corresponding to pushing the cable assembly through the conduit without the binding element on the conductor core.

Abstract: An electrical connector for use with providing an electrical termination to an end of a cable having a conductor helically disposed between a core and a layer overlying the core. The connector includes a first portion having an opening sized greater than a diameter defined by the helically disposed conductor but less than a diameter of the layer. A second portion has an opening sized greater than a diameter defined by the helically disposed conductor. A third portion is configured to receive a conductor of a second cable. As a result of the end of the cable being sufficiently inserted through the opening of the first portion, the helically disposed conductor is exposed about a length of the cable extending through another side of the first portion and received in the opening of the second portion.

Abstract: A grounding clip is a shelf-grounding device includes a resilient conductive clip that installs onto a fully assembled shelving unit, providing a plurality of electrical connections between the shelf and post to reduce the risks from electrostatic discharge, or ESD. The clip can be installed and removed without the use of tools and is held securely in place when attached. Since the clip is attached after the shelving unit is assembled, less skill is required by the installer during the installation or reconfiguration process. The clip is reusable and provides electrical connectivity between the shelf and post regardless of whether the shelving unit was assembled with conductive or plastic split sleeves.

  • Patent number: 7456363
Abstract: A line guard is configured so as to have a very large air gap with a small overall physical size of the device. Opposed interleaved sets of plural insulating leaves are formed along a discontinuity extending along the length of the line guard so as to greatly extend the length of the air gap. This air gap structure allows the overall size of the line guard to be small thus providing advantages of reduced weight, ease of handling, and ease of storage. A two piece coupler apparatus is provided for joining adjacent line guards in a way that is both flexible and provides sufficient dielectric to operate at high voltages in a small package.
