  • Publication number: 20020096355
Abstract: The invention related to a device (2) to set up an electrically conducting contact, and in particular, of an elongated, illustratively, a substantially cylindrical body, for instance a pipe or a cable, and comprises a base structure (4) to rest against the body (42) to be contacted and a contact element (40) held at a side of the base structure (4) which in the assembly position faces the body (42) to be contacted, this contact element implementing an electrically conducting connection with the body (42) to be contacted. The invention provides adjusting means to adjust the position of the contact element (40) relative to the edges of the base structure (4). The invention reliably precludes, at manufacture of the device (2), that there will be slippage of, or projection by the contact element (40) beyond the edge of the base structure (4) when the contact element (40) is affixed to the base structure (4). This feature simplifies manufacture and saves the time and costs of refinishing work.

  • Patent number: 6323430
Abstract: A clip (30) grips the shields (24) of each of a plurality of cables to hold the front ends of the cables relative to connector contacts (12) and to ground the shields to a shell (16) of the connector. The clip includes a main part (40) that has been bent into a plurality of loops of about 220° each, with alternate loops opening upward and downward. The shields can be installed in the loops by pressing them into the loops, with the opposite sides of the loops resiliently spreading apart as the shield is installed and then closing around it. The loops have holes (80) that permit inspection of the shield at the side of the cable that would otherwise be hidden. A wire (32) that connects the clip to the connector shell, has a wire inner end (82) that extends across a hole, with a quantity of solder (84) soldering the wire to the clip and soldering the wire to a cable shield.

Abstract: A lead-in clamp with electric wire protective casing are disclosed. The electric wire protective casing is a long plastic roll tube, whose longitudinal free edges are not sealed, but rather can be expanded out and drawn back, on the roll tube there being formed a series of uniformly spaced transverse recesses. The lead-in clamp comprises left and right clamp stems, left and right clamp bodies and a clamping spring. When the left and right clamp bodies are fitted together, a wire passing cylinder and a casing guiding head are formed. When in use, the wires are put into the wire passing cylinder, then insert the casing guiding head into one end of the wire protective casing tube. After the wire protective casing tube is fixed stationary by hand, the lead-in clamp is pushed toward the other end of the wire protective casing, thereby to encase all of the wires into the wire protection casing.

Abstract: A support structure for a wire harness having a connection section. The structure includes a hollow support member, open at, one end, on a wall of an electrical connection box. An insulative cap is provided which has an outer diameter greater than the inner diameter of the support member. The cap surrounds the connection section and is pressed into the support member. Its resilience distorts the cap and thereby creates internal friction to resist inadvertent withdrawal. In a preferred form of the Invention, the cap is provided with one or more alternating shelves and grooves which assist in distortion. A further support can be provided on the support member and a portion of the wires taped thereto.
