  • Patent number: 7842890
Abstract: A one-piece housing for the enclosure and protection of an optical imager or other device and a method for locking a one-piece housing assembly in a folded configuration. The housing comprises three segments permanently joined by flexible hinges that allow the housing to quickly fold into a box to enclose an optical imager. To releasably maintain the housing in closed position, the assembly contains two locking tabs that snap-fit into depressions on a platform extending away from the main housing segment. One tab snap-fits directly into a depression on the top surface of the platform while the other tab snap-fits into a depression on the reverse surface of the platform. By locking into depressions on the top and reverse surfaces of the platform, the opposing tabs tightly grip the surfaces and releasably maintain the housing in the folded configuration.

  • Patent number: 7834444
Abstract: An apparatus for heatsink attachment and a method for forming the apparatus. The apparatus includes a substrate, a semiconductor chip on top of and physically attached to the substrate, and a lid on top of the substrate. The lid includes a first thermally conductive material. The apparatus further includes a heatsink on top of the lid. The heatsink includes a second thermally conductive material. The semiconductor chip and the substrate share a common interface surface that defines a reference direction perpendicular to the common interface surface and pointing from the substrate towards the semiconductor chip. The lid is disposed between the substrate and the heatsink. The lid includes a first protruding member. The first protruding member of the lid is farther away from the substrate than a portion of the heatsink in the reference direction.

  • Patent number: 7607553
Abstract: The invention relates to a lower portion of an electric and electronic enclosure, comprising a bottom and fastening arrangements for fastening a cover to the lower portion with a bayonet-like fastening, the fastening arrangements comprising a bore and a shoulder-like stopper for receiving a mounting bracket of a spindle-like element. So as to be able to fasten the cover to the lower portion with either bayonet snap lock means or conventional screws, the bore of the lower portion comprises threads for receiving the screw. The invention also relates to an electric and electronic enclosure.

  • Patent number: 7569777
Abstract: A thermostat is provided that includes a lock disposed in a sub-base, which includes a cam coupled to the lock to permit rotation of the cam between an unlocked and a locked position. The cam includes an offset portion that is configured to rotate over a vertical retaining portion of the thermostat housing, to retain the thermostat housing to the sub-base. The cam further includes an outwardly extending portion, wherein the outwardly extending portion is configured to rotate adjacent to a door that is pivotally coupled to the thermostat housing. When the cam is in the locking position, pivoting of the door is impeded by the outwardly extending portion of the cam, to resist pivotal movement of the door and thereby inhibit access to one or more input means or controls of the thermostat.

  • Patent number: 7550668
Abstract: An electronic device includes a case (100) and a supporting member (40). The case includes a cover (10), a base (20), and a receiving member (30) received between the cover and the base. The cover includes a first bottom wall (12), and the base includes a second bottom wall (22). A receiving recess (144) is formed in the first and second bottom walls. A retaining portion (32) is formed in the receiving member, and received in the receiving recess. The retaining portion includes at least one slot (328). The supporting member is mounted to the retaining portion, and includes at least one locating portion (426) slideable in the slot. Thereby, when the electronic device is in a horizontal position, the supporting member is fully received in the receiving recess of the case; when the electronic device is in an upright position, the supporting member is perpendicular to the receiving recess of the case.

  • Patent number: 7394018
Abstract: Upper and lower casings (10, 11) are coupled together and are fixed to a holder (20) by a bolt (B). The upper casing (10) has an upper wall (10b) with a bolt hole (11c) and the lower casing (11) has a bottom wall (11b) with a bolt hole (11c). A cylindrical collar (15) is molded with the bottom wall (11b) of the lower casing (11) and projects from the edge of the bolt hole (11c). The collar (15) has a length to penetrate through the bolt hole (10c) in the upper wall (10b) of the upper casing (10). The collar (15) has a step (15a) for supporting a lower surface of a bolt head (Bb) of the bolt (B) and inward projection (15b) for engaging an upper surface of the bolt head (Bb). Thus, the bolt head (Bb) is held rotatably between the step (15a) and the inward projection (15b).
