Abstract: Disclosed herein is a cable coupler for the connection of an armored cable having an armor layer. The cable coupler of the present invention includes a sleeve, which has an inclined surface, which is brought into contact with the armor layer of the armored cable, and a fastening ring and a support ring, each of which has a small width. Each of the fastening ring and the support ring includes inclined surfaces, which are formed by reducing the thickness thereof from a medial portion thereof to opposite ends. The inner inclined surfaces of the fastening ring and the support ring have inclination angles similar to that of the inclined surface of the sleeve. The diameter of the inclined surface of the fastening ring is relatively large, and the diameter of the inclined surface of the support ring is relatively small, so that a preliminary connection of the armored cable can be achieved using small force. In the preliminary connection process, the connected state of the armored cable can be confirmed.

  • Patent number: 7358448
Abstract: An electric connector assembly made up of a connector body having an inlet end portion, an outlet end portion, and a bore communicating the inlet end portion to the outlet end portion; and having a frustro-conical retaining ring mounted on the outlet end portion wherein the retainer ring includes locking tangs and one or more grounding tangs wherein the free end of the grounding tang defines the trailing end of the retainer ring. The locking tangs effect a snap-fit locking arrangement while the grounding tang effects an electrical grounding of the connector assembly, when connected to a knock-out hole of an electric box or panel. Various embodiments are disclosed wherein the grounding tang is formed so as to enhance the electrical grounding effect between the connector assembly and the electric box or panel connected thereto.

Abstract: The invention is a terminal assembly having a casing with at least one delivery tapered-cone conductor and at least one return tapered-cone conductor routed there-through. The delivery and return tapered-cone conductors are electrically isolated from each other and positioned in the annuluses of ordered concentric cones at an off-normal angle. The tapered cone conductor service can be AC phase conductors and DC link conductors. The center core has at least one service conduit of gate signal leads, diagnostic signal wires, and refrigerant tubing routed there-through. A seal material is in direct contact with the casing inner surface, the tapered-cone conductors, and the service conduits thereby hermetically filling the interstitial space in the casing interior core and center core. The assembly provides simultaneous high-current, high-pressure, low-inductance, and high-reliability service.

  • Patent number: 7288730
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for covering and sealing a hole (10) through a wall provided for leading cables therethrough, said hole being provided in, for example, a switchgear cabinet. The device comprises a retaining frame (16), which can be fastened to the edge (66) of the hole through the wall (12), and comprises a number of bushes (30, 31), which are made of elastomeric material, can be removeably inserted inside frame openings (28), and which can be fixed therein. A least one part of the bushes (30, 31) is provided with at least one through opening for a cable. In order to equip the cable leadthrough with cables in a particularly easy manner and to be able to mount it on the switchgear cabinet, the invention provides that the frame openings (28) are open on one side for inserting the bushes (30, 31). In addition, one of the bushes (31), which can be inserted into the frame openings, can be arrested in a direction of insertion in the area of the sidewalls (36) that delimit the frame openings (34).
