Abstract: A middle-drive type elevator has a lift car, tractor, wire rope, guide pulley and counterweight device. The tractor is installed between the lift car and guide pulley. Both the tractor and guide pulley are disposed above the lift car. The tractor is located below the guide pulley. One end of the wire rope connects to the top of the counterweight device, and the other end connects to the top of the lift car after passing through the guide pulley and a traction wheel on the tractor successively. To make the tractor arranged in the middle, the guide pulley bears the majority of the weight of the lift car and counterweight device, while the tractor only bears the minority of the weight of the lift car and counterweight device. It can effectively reduce the load borne by the tractor and greatly improve the service life of the tractor.

  • Patent number: 6561318
Abstract: An emergency drive system for elevators allows manual raising and lowering of the elevator in an emergency condition when an emergency brake has been applied to a rotating member of the elevator drive system. A linkage element is pivotally mounted to the brake, and carries a manual drive member having a drag bearing and a pair of guide rollers. A drive line passes about the drive member, guide rollers and a hand crank. Operation of the hand crank creates a tensional imbalance in the drive line, pivots the linkage member to engage the manual drive member with the rotary member. The increased drag to crank rotation resulting from the engagement causes the linkage element to pivot about the manual drive member, backing the brake away from the rotating member and allowing the rotating member to be turned by the manual drive member. The device is self-regulating, permitting only sufficient release of the brake to cause a slow rotation of the rotating member and the elevator car motion.

The contact surface extends upward at a predetermined angle so that, when the lift plate is raised and the contact surface engages the edges of the wafers, each wafer is lifted incrementally higher than the preceding wafer. The actuator mechanism includes a bell crank rotatable about a pivotal axis for transforming rotational motion into translational motion. The bell crank has first and second crank arms that extend radially from the pivotal axis and an arcuate member that extends circumferentially between and joining the crank arms. Thus, the arcuate member forms the circumferential perimeter of the bell crank.

Abstract: An elevator is provided with an auxiliary escape device consisting of a manually-operated compression-decompression apparatus located at an emergency window of the elevator cab. The compression-decompression apparatus has a fluid pipe and a compression or decompression valve which is fastened at one end thereof with an oil pressure mechanism. In the event of an accident or power outage causing the elevator to incapacitate, the compression-decompression apparatus is exerted on by the pressure of a person's hand so as to actuate the compression or decompression valve, thereby causing the oil pressure cylinder to move up or down to drive the elevator cab upwards or downwards to a desired floor where the trapped passengers can escape.

A reversible electric motor is connected to the winch via two-way reduction gearing that remains in the drive train during manual operation and requires no clutches or disconnect means. The power option is initiated by selecting the position of a reversing switch that controls the motor, and closing an on/off switch which energizes the motor for rotation in the selected direction. When the on/off switch is open, the lift may be manually operated in the conventional manner.
