Adjustable Patents (Class 19/292)
  • Publication number: 20080075983
Abstract: A continuous halogen-free flame-retardant filament and method of forming thereof includes providing MC, a phosphorus compound, and PET, and then, forming a mixture of the MC, phosphorus compound, and PET. And lastly, extruding the mixture to form the halogen-free flame-retardant filament. The filament can be braided, woven or knitted into a variety of fabric constructions, such as, for example, sleeves for protecting wires.

  • Patent number: 5619772
Abstract: An apparatus for measuring sliver thickness in a drawing frame includes a sliver guiding device having converging inner wall faces for bringing a plurality of simultaneously introduced slivers together to form a sliver assembly constituted by side-by-side positioned running slivers arranged in a plane. The apparatus further includes a sensor element laterally contacting the sliver assembly; and a counterelement laterally contacting the sliver assembly. The counterelement is so supported that it may pivot parallel to the plane of the sliver assembly for purposes of adjustment and immobilization. The sensor element is urged into a resilient contact with the sliver assembly whereby the sensor element undergoes excursions upon variation of thickness of the sliver assembly. The sensor element and the counterelement together define a constriction through which the sliver assembly passes. A transducer converts excursions of the sensor element into electric pulses.

  • Patent number: 5465465
Abstract: A two-apron drafting unit comprises at least one sliver guide which projects into the wedge-shaped gap of the roller pair which follows the apron unit. The sliver guide has a defined distance from the surfaces of the roller pair and can be moved within certain limits in the longitudinal direction of the roller pair. The sliver guide is arranged in a holding device which is aligned in parallel to the roller pair as well as with respect to the height of the drafting zone plane. The holding device, which has a slideway for the sliver guide, is arranged on a supporting part which is connected with the lower deflection guide for the bottom apron.

  • Patent number: 5343598
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for the processing of a plurality of fiber slivers, in particular a drawing frame with drawing-in cylinders for joint feeding of the fiber slivers to the device. A funnel with a passage opening is provided in the device to unite the fiber slivers into a fiber sliver amalgam as the fiber slivers go through the funnel (1). The cross-sectional area of the passage opening of the funnel is adjustable.

  • Patent number: 4424927
Abstract: A guide encloses a group of traveling filaments arranged in a pattern forming a main longitudinal axis. The guide comprises a carrier movable toward and away from the filament group. A plurality of relatively movable members are mounted on the carrier for movement between open and closed positions. Those members form a through-passage for the filament group in the closed position. An actuating mechanism is operatively connected to the carrier and members for extending the carrier toward the filament group, and closing the members around the filaments to converge the filaments. Thereafter, the carrier is retracted to a position where a longitudinal axis of the through-passage is substantially aligned with the main longitudinal axis formed by the filament group.
