Abstract: An X-ray-permeable bag is provided with a hinged compartment attached to a wheeled trolley bag by a zippered hinge in side-by-side relationship but are spread horizontally about said hinge for edge-to-edge placement on a conveyor belt so as to allow separate X-ray inspection of the compartments without content removal. In its preferred form, the bag permits separate scanning of a laptop computer and the rest of the bags contents by utilizing a method that reduces the time required to perform an inspection while maintaining the integrity of the inspection process. Additionally, the zippered hinge allows the compartments to be separated so that they may be transported independently.

Abstract: A travel bag having a storage compartment is provided with opposed support members either side of the storage compartment. Each support member defines an upper rear corner area. A seat is pivotally attached to the support members adjacent the upper rear corner areas, operable to pivot from a stowed position adjacent a rear face of the storage compartment to an operating position between upper edges of the support members. A separate seat structure, for use in association with a travel bag to be attached thereto, is also provided. The seat structure has opposed support members connected by a cross-bracing structure. The support members are adaptable to be fitted around the sides of the travel bag. Each support member defines an upper rear corner, and, a seat is pivotally attached to the support members adjacent the upper rear corners, operable to pivot from a stowed position adjacent a rear face of the travel bag to an operating position between upper edges of the support members.

Abstract: A unique tapered and expanding sectional liner that allows the liner to fit different size bags, with each section having its own attachment means is provided. The interchangeable liner includes a liner body having a closed bottom and an open top end for receiving items inside. In one embodiment, the liner body comprises three sections: a top section, a middle section, and a bottom section. Each time a section of the liner body is folded over, the resulting size of the liner decreases, allowing it to be used in smaller and smaller bags.

Abstract: A bag apparatus for carrying a portable computer where the computer is mounted to an outside surface of the bag for quick and convenient access where a user can perform computing tasks ergonomically with the hands and eyes in their normal positions. The bag includes a means for providing electrical connections to access the interior surface of the bag. The bag further provides extra storage for carrying additional computer components, accessories or peripherals.

Abstract: A wheeled cabinet assembly comprising a wheeled base cabinet fitted with a locomoting handle, and at least one detachable container made from a pliable material and designed as an independent carrying bag wherein a base portion of the carrying bag is attachable over a top edge of the base cabinet at an upright position or at a bottoms up position.

Abstract: A travel case for liquid cosmetics, medications and the like includes an interior pocket with a separate transparent plastic pouch for the liquid materials such as cosmetics. Access to the interior of the bag may be effected through a principal access opening in the top of the bag. Access to the interior pocket which holds the pouch may also be effected through an auxiliary opening in the side wall of the bag. The access opening to the pocket within the bag as well as to the interior of the bag are all oriented in the same direction.

Abstract: A protective sleeve for a portable computer, or other fragile article, is described. The protective sleeve is specifically designed to be used in conjunction with, and inside of, a larger piece of luggage, such as a suitcase or backpack. The protective sleeve is comprised of a semi-rigid material, such as closed-cell polyethylene foam. The semi-rigid material is preferably covered by abrasion-resistant fabric.

Abstract: A tote bag for being partitioned or alternatively expanded. The bag has a partition mode and an expansion mode and includes a front panel, a rear panel, and a pair of side panels. The front panel is attached to the rear panel by the pair of side panels. The pair of side panels fold and attach to each other to form a partition thereby dividing the tote bag into a pair of compartments when the tote bag is in the partition mode thereof and separate from each other and unfold to eliminate the partition thereby expanding the tote bag when the tote bag is in the expansion mode thereof.

Abstract: An article of luggage is described, incorporating a folding hanger, mirror and shelf, and a number of permanent and removably attached containers inside the luggage. The article of luggage may be hung in an open configuration for use of the items stored within. It may also be folded for storage or transport, in which folded configuration the hanger, mirror and shelf are folded and stored internally in the luggage. The removably attached containers may be rearranged within the luggage to provide a custom configuration.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a container for controlling odor and scent incident upon a hunter's clothing stored prior to hunting to prevent the stored items from contamination with a human scent and as well inhibit human scent on the clothing escaping from the container. The container includes an open-topped housing and a lid removably connectible to the housing to form an enclosed accessible interior chamber. A check valve in communication with the interior chamber is connected to a vacuum pump for withdrawing air and reducing the pressure in said chamber to a value significantly lower than atmospheric pressure. A sheet or liner of activated carbon is disposed within the interior for adsorbing scents. The present container can be used to store household items, bridal accessories and gowns as well as other various and sundry items where odors are to be prevented.

A system and method for customizing luggage may comprise offering a user a design catalog from which to select a graphic design for an item of luggage, the item of luggage having a recessed panel, generating a custom label using the selected graphic design, and applying the custom label to the recessed panel.

Abstract: A luggage bag comprising a luggage bag housing and separate storage units affixed thereto, wherein the separate storage units are extendable and removable from the luggage bag housing. Abstract: A multi-compartment bag configured to objects specific to one or more applications is described herein. The multi-compartment bag comprises a housing having sides extending between a base and a top, a fastener, e.g., a zipper or snap, to connect the top to at least one of the sides, a panel releasably connected to the top, and two or more modular containers configured to fit within the housing. The modular containers sub-divide the housing into two or more compartments. The multi-compartment bag may further comprise an insert configured to hold an object within the modular container. The insert may include one or more cutouts that frictionally hold one or more objects.

Abstract: A handbag system for efficient changing of handbag styles. The handbag system can include a first outer shell, a second outer shell and a removable liner. The removable liner can be configured for removable placement and attachment within either the first outer shell and the second outer shell. The removable liner can be filled with the typical belongings of the user including a wallet, cosmetics, keys and the like. The removable liner can be detached and removed from the outer shell while retaining the belongings of the user. The user can use the removable liner with the outer shell deemed most appropriate for use with a particular outfit or activity. In addition, the first outer shell can have a first style matching a first outfit and the second outer shell can have a second style matching a second outfit so as to form a fashion system.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a collapsible utility bag which may, for example, be sized to fit within an athletic locker. The utility bag is generally rectangular in shape with a door that is hingedly attached to the front of the utility bag. Top and bottom rigid panels are provided, which are hinged or removable, and when in position support a top wall and a bottom wall. Removable side panels provide rigidity to side walls. Generally rectangular frames may be incorporated into the utility bag to provide further rigid support to the front and the rear of the bag. The utility bag can be collapsed for easy storage or shipping by removing the side panels, detaching the top and bottom panels, and collapsing the front of the bag towards the rear of the bag. A method for utilizing the present invention as a vehicle for advertising is also described.

Abstract: Cases and methods of use of a laptop computer are provided such that the laptop computer need not be removed from the case, enabling use of the laptop computer keyboard, display and ports located on a back edge of the laptop computer while the laptop computer remains in the case. According to example of the invention, a case for a laptop computer is provided having first and second portions formed of rigid material. The first portion is adapted to be secured to a display portion of the laptop computer, and the second portion adapted to be secured to a keyboard portion of the laptop computer. Opening and closing the laptop computer is thereby permitted. A covering flap is also provided to be selectively securable across the connective portion. Another embodiment of the invention is usable with laptop computers having a multi-axis rotation display portion.

Abstract: There is provided a soft-sided, collapsible, vehicle organizer operative to create a collapsible storage space. The vehicle organizer includes a base and a pair of opposing primary walls coupled to the base. The vehicle organizer further includes a pair of opposing secondary walls coupled to the base. The vehicle organizer is foldable between a stowed position and a deployed position. In the stowed position, at least two opposing walls are generally parallel to the base. In the deployed position, the pair of primary walls and the pair of secondary walls are substantially upright. The vehicle organizer also includes at least two batten pockets operative to receive a batten to enhance wall rigidity.

The drawers and shelves may be folded relatively flat and stored in the main housing of the luggage when not in use. The luggage may have a cover support to hold the cover of the luggage open at various angles and under various loads when the cover is open.

Abstract: A versatile lunch box is provided, comprising a rectangular inner box unit with removably mounted compartment dividers within guide slots, an outer fabric cover with a zippered front flap having utensil and napkin holders and an inner pouch, with the outside of the fabric cover having a side pocket and pouch and a handle connected to the top. The versatile lunch box has particular utility in connection with accommodating large food items or multiple food items at different temperatures in a compact design that can easily fit inside a school bag or small office refrigerator.

Abstract: Travel bag for organizing computer and other items has a computer compartment that includes pockets for small items and a dual-entry pocket. Flat pockets are provided on two large sides of the dual-entry pocket. An opening on the outer body of the bag provides access to contents of the dual-entry pocket and flat pockets. The flat pockets are made of elastic material for securely holding small items and devices that are frequently retrieved, such as cell phone, travel tickets, sunglasses, etc. A briefcase style includes a retractable flap that covers the top of the bag and slides down into the bag to provide unfettered access to contents. A tote style has deep pockets in expandable side gussets, for holding water bottle, umbrella, shoes, etc. Straps are rope-filled tubular leather. A cord kit, a tool kit, and a purse may be included.

Abstract: A portable enclosure for storing and carrying baseball and other athletic equipment consists of six fabric-covered rigid panels which can be closed by means of a single continuous zipper to form a rigid rectangular parallelepiped that can be carted easily by means of wheels located at a lower edge. When the portable enclosure is unzipped into the open position, the back wall and side walls open up flat so that the pockets, shelves and pouches located on the interior surfaces thereof are accessible. Yet, since the portable enclosure is now flat, it can be located out of the way, secured against the back of the dugout where it will not create a trip hazard for the players.

Abstract: A purse organizing system is disclosed for removably positioning in a purse. The purse organizing system comprises an insert having a top and a bottom and being elongated between opposite ends. The insert includes a pair of laterally spaced side walls with the side walls each having opposite ends. The insert also includes a pair of longitudinally spaced end walls with each of the end walls extending between the side walls. The insert also includes a bottom wall extending between the side walls and the end walls for closing a bottom and creating an interior. An open top is located opposite the closed bottom. The insert also includes at least one divider wall extending laterally between the side walls to divide the interior into two compartments.

Abstract: A bag system for a breast pump system is provided. The bag system separates used and unused components of the breast pump system, provides thermal isolation for stored breast milk, and orientates the breast pump so that it is readily useable and accessible.

Abstract: A combination garment bag and luggage bag includes a relatively rigid outer luggage bag and a relatively flexible inner garment bag. According to one aspect of the invention, the garment bag is secured to the interior of the luggage bag with the aid of a releasable coupling mechanism. According to another aspect of the invention, the interior of the garment bag is provided with a spring expandable hanger bar. The hanger bar expands when the garment bag is removed from the luggage bag. This allows easier access to the contents of the garment bag.

Abstract: A slide fastener and related pull are disclosed. The pull is formed of an elongate strip of material defining a handle portion between a first end and an opposite second end. The first end of the pull is attached to the article bearing an elongate set of engaging structures for the slide fastener. A slide for operably engaging the set of engaging structures is attached to the pull toward the opposite second end. Accordingly, the handle portion forms an easily graspable quasi-pull chord for opening and closing the pull fastener. In a preferred embodiment, a tab portion of the pull extends from the slide attachment point on the pull to the second end of the pull, and it is detachably secured to the article when the slide fastener is in its closed position. Accordingly, the pull itself can be used as a storage device to hang objects such as a towel, a pair of shoes or the like therefrom. The pull can also serve as a protective cover for the pull fastener and have surface ornamentation thereon.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for sale of a custom made purse through a kiosk or Internet system. On computer screens, an individual purchases a purse and chooses the options, the size, the color, the fabric and everything necessary for the making of a custom made purse. This information is then electronically sent to the web company where the purse is prepared and shipped to the individual. The purse involved has been specially designed so that it can be customized; however, the purse is standard enough that it can be produced cheaply. The features that enable this are a releasable liner and releasably attached pouches on the outside and inside of the purse. This liner is attached to the purse by snaps or hock and loop fabric. The liner has several sides on which different types of pouches can be attached with snaps or hock and loop fabrics. This enables the inside of the purse to be customized with may different pouches.

Abstract: A travel cover for a golf bag and clubs includes an integrated suitcase portion with one or more compartments for packing articles of clothing therein. In a preferred embodiment, the suitcase portion is in the form of a garment bag that releasably attaches to an inside back panel of the travel cover. The garment bag can be removed from the travel cover for separate transport and use. In another embodiment, the suitcase portion is fabricated within the travel cover and includes a top panel which secures closed to separate the clothing compartments of the suitcase portion from the golf bag holding compartment. In still another embodiment, the suitcase portion is provided on the exterior top side of the travel cover and includes an independently secured cover panel which opens to permit access to the clothing compartments. In yet a further embodiment, the suitcase portion is a garment bag that releasably attaches to the exterior of the travel cover and is separable therefrom.

Abstract: A security handbag system comprising a purse with a detachable portion removably coupled to the side of the purse and attached to the waist of a user. The detachable portion has pockets to hold the users valuables including cash, credit cards, defensive chemical spray and cellular phone. Upon extraordinary pulling away of the purse, the detachable portion remains attached to the user and uncouples from the purse.

Abstract: A convertible carrying assembly has separable upper and lower sections, and a removable lower outer covering. The upper section consists of a small handbag with external fasteners for holding the lower outer covering and lower section. When disconnected, the upper section may be used as a handbag. The lower section includes a removable drawer-style organizer. Side panels formed from the outer covering may be unzipped to give access to the drawers in the organizer. If desired, the organizer may be removed for stand-alone use. The outer covering may be used as a stand-alone bag, or may be unzipped to form a flat surface that can be further used or folded for a variety of functions.

Abstract: A carrying case for storing and transporting various items. The carrying case is especially useful as a flight bag. The carrying case includes an organizing flap hinged to the carrying case, and one or more organizing pockets or internal flaps that are hinged to the organizing flap. The organizing pockets can thus be opened and rotated like pages of a book for convenient storage of particular items or papers. The organizing pockets may be sized to hold Sectional Aeronautical Charts published by the Federal Aviation Administration for use by aircraft pilots. The rotatable organizing pockets are easily accessible to pilots to allow a pilot to direct more of his or her attention to piloting an aircraft and less time fumbling through files or pockets to locate maps and papers.

Frame includes a spring loaded manual release portion for enabling quick manual attachment or removal of the frame portion to the record case. The rolling record case includes a hinged lid with one or more securing latches to secure the lid in a closed position, and a compartmented interior. A slideable latch member is extended or retracted by rotation of a handle. The compartments inside the case portion can include visible compartments as well as one or more hidden compartments. The hidden compartment can be formed by a false bottom in one or more of the visible compartments.

Abstract: The embodiment of this invention is disclosed, which allows a purse or handbag to be organized. The invention contemplates various sized compartments to accommodate the individual needs of a particular consumer. While the embodiments of this invention have been disclosed, certain modifications may be made, by those skilled in the art, to either the size of the organizer or the compartments in the upper section without violating the spirit of the invention.

Abstract: Dual access hand luggage having in the interior a stowage cell system or assembly, preferably made of stretch fabric, that permits isolation packing and orthogonal stowage and retrieval of goods retained in the cells by access from either face of the suitcase. For roll-on type travel bags, a pop-up handle is provided in a side wall, rather than on the back face as in current luggage. The inventive system is particularly useful for suitcases, carry-on or roll-on bags, back packs, totes, brief cases, and laptop cases. Dual-sided external access combined with internal, modular, fixed-size or variable-size stowage cells, oriented generally orthogonal to the planes of both sides, permits packing and selective removal of articles through either face of the bag so that articles otherwise buried in the bag are easily removed by flipping the bag over and accessing the item through the openable back face.

The transporting system for items of luggage comprises a rolling mechanism (10) and at least one item of luggage or case element (20), the rolling mechanism (10) having a wheel arrangement (11), a pulling device (12) and fastening means (13) for releasably connecting the item of luggage (20) to the rolling mechanism, and is characterized in that the fastening means (13), on the one hand, are connected to the rolling mechanism and, on the other hand, can be fixed in a releasable manner in an interior of the item of luggage (20). The fastening means may comprise, for example, touch-and-close fastener strips (13) which can be introduced into the interior of the item of luggage through slots (22) made in a rear wall (21) of the item of luggage (20), and can be fixed there on a touch-and-close fastener strip.

Abstract: Travel luggage includes a reinforced bottom panel and opposite end panels with a telescoping handle and wheels attached to the bottom panel and arranged to stiffen the end panels to provide for a semi-rigid configuration of the luggage. The carrying case comprises a first compartment and second compartment, with the first and second compartments relatively foldable along a common fold line between an open position and a closed position. A plurality of slots are defined in at least one of the compartments, and a plurality of inserts are provided. Each of the inserts is sized for insertion into a corresponding one of the slots, with each of the inserts having at least one closeable chamber. A divider panel is provided, with the divider panel mounted for shiftable movement between a folded position in which the divider panel is disposed over at least one of the compartments and an unfolded position in which the divider panel permits access to the at least one compartment.

The cradle may be selectively secured at different heights to divider members within the interior of the bag. When not needed, the protective cradle may be removed from the bag to free the bag to carry other contents.

Abstract: A portable bag such as handbag, backpack or the like has an inner pocket for carrying articles and an outer exchangeable cover such as formed from leather, fabric, vinyl or otherwise. The inner pocket includes an upper band which is flexible for pivoting and concealing a fastener therebeneath. The outer cover similarly includes a fastener for engaging the fastener positioned on the inner pocket whereby the outer cover can be slid over the inner pocket and the fasteners secured.

Abstract: A combination backrest and storage compartment for a motorcycle or the like includes a bag made of flexible material, dimensioned to fit in the space between the driver's seat and the sissy bar of the motorcycle. A rigid frame is removably located within the bag, and the front of the frame is connected to the back of the frame by an elongated rigid brace. A flexible strap member is attached to the bag and extends around the front of the bag to allow it to be releasably secured to the sissy bar to pull the bag, and the frame located within the bag, rearwardly into tight engagement with the sissy bar. This secures the combination bag and storage compartment onto the motorcycle. A padded lumbar support backrest is attached to the outside of the bag adjacent the driver's seat.

Abstract: The present invention provides a panel for use in an article carrier which has opposed sides which are generally connected by a material which include some form of a closure device. The panel is semirigid with interior and exterior faces. The interior face defines a chamber which opens to the interior of the article carrier and the exterior face defines a three dimensional structure. A method for forming the semirigid panel is also disclosed. The disclosed method provides a means for applying color to the three dimensional structure.
