  • Patent number: 5628398
Abstract: An anthropomorphic travel system includes a fillable module, the shape of which approximates the upper shoulder area of a human torso, enabling a coat or like garment to be carried over and along with the module so as to minimize wrinkling of the garment. In the preferred embodiment this module is multi-compartmentalized, and includes a bottom portion with a pair of spaced-apart hooks which extend downwardly therefrom, the hooks being adapted to releasably grasp the bottom member of a clothes hanger to carry a garment secured thereto. The module also includes a back surface from which there extends downwardly a flexible, compartmentalized panel such that even when the module and panel with overdraping garment(s) are covered with an outer bag, the entire system may be folded in half lengthwise and secured in that state for compact transport while continuing to minimize wrinkling of the garment(s).

  • Patent number: 5628443
Abstract: A modular apparatus for storage and transport of goods, primarily for use as a backpack. A first container for holding goods is provided with a first cooperating engagement portion, and a base is provided with a second cooperating engagement portion; the first and second portions cooperate to provide meshing engagement to detachably connect the first container the base. A stop is included in at least one of the first or said second cooperating engagement portions to limit the downward travel of the first container relative to the base. Further containers can be added, where each of the further containers includes cooperating engagement portion for meshing engagement with a complementary cooperating engagement portion of the already mounted containers. Preferably, the first cooperative engagement portion is a T-shaped slot formed from a pair of complementary, mirror image L-shaped members, and the second cooperative engagement portion is a T-shaped bracket of size and shape complementary to the T-shaped slot.

  • Patent number: 5628397
Abstract: Garment bags have been designed to carry garments on hangers, but have resulted in varying capabilities to help resist wrinkling these hanging garments during transport and storage. Disclosed is a garment bag with an arrangement of auxiliary pockets and compartments to help resists wrinkling. Specifically, one or more generally semi-cylindrical shaped pockets extend across the width dimension of the main packing compartment of the garment bag. When the bag is packed and folded in its transport configuration, the hanging garments fold or drape around these packed cylinder shaped compartments thus the garments are less likely to wrinkle.

  • Patent number: 5624026
Abstract: A novel garment holding device for use with various types of luggage comprising a substantially cylindrical hollow tube about which suits and other garments can be completely wrapped, a fabric cover for holding garments securely about the outside surface of the tube, and a flexible hanger which is capable of holding suits and other garments against the outside of the tube while being flexible enough to conform to the curvature of the tube. A fabric cover wraps around the garments and the tube and holds the garments securely against the outer surface of the tube. Because the garments will be rolled instead of folded, wrinkling of the garments will be reduced. The hollow center of the cylinder is utilized to carry bulky and awkward shaped objects such as shoes and shaving or makeup kits. The tube, when holding a garment wrapped around its outer surface, can be carried inside any luggage of appropriate size.

  • Patent number: 5588569
Abstract: A carrier bag including a box member having a bottom plate and a plurality of side plates that extend from the outer-periphery of the bottom plate in a direction perpendicular to the plane of the bottom plate. The box member is defined with an opening which is always oriented in an upper-diagonal direction relative to a surface when the box member is positioned on the surface with either the bottom plate or one of the side plates being in contact therewith. Furthermore, the carrier bag is provided with a caster at each corner portion defined between the bottom plate and one of the side plates. The opening is covered with a fastenable and unfastenable cover. • Patent number: 5573154
Abstract: A backpack for holding implements for emergency medical care, includes an approximately rectangular rear wall part and a front wall part which swings open, is joined with the rear wall part by means of a first side wall part, and corresponds approximately to the rear wall part in terms of its surface area. The backpack also includes a carrying system. In order to create a backpack of this type, which ensures the visibility of its entire contents at first glance and from which the implements for emergency medical care can be easily removed by the user without it first being necessary for other components of the backpack's contents to be removed, a second side wall part, which is joined with an intermediate wall part that can swing open, is arranged on the rear wall part opposite the first side wall part. In addition, two end flaps are arranged at the free sides of the rear wall part. These are opposite each other and, when the backpack is closed, they at least partially surround the side wall parts.

  • Patent number: 5018609
Abstract: A carrying case which in particular may be used by a vistor to a trade show where numerous sizes and shapes of objects are distributed for the visitor to take home, some of which are large posters or comparable objects which are preferably carried in the rolled up condition. The case includes various slots for holding discs, business cards, paper and pens, etc. A key point of novelty in the present invention is the use of an attachable cylindrical holder which essentially consists of a cylindrical body formed of semi-rigid material such as thick nylon, and having attaching snaps that enable the cylindrical member to be attached to the case. The purpose of the cylindrical member is so that large posters and other pictures which should not be folded in order to avoid a crease can be rolled up and safely placed in the cylindrical container and thereafter transported to the person's office.

  • Patent number: 4995436
Abstract: A method and means of safely securing valuables in the form of a break-away handbag. Removable reattachable adjacent bag segments are mounted to each other by means of snaps, VELCRO or the like. One or more bag segments act as a decoy and are positioned facing out and away from the body of the handbag holder while other adjacently placed bag segments designed to hold valuables are positioned more proximate to or up against the handbag holder's body. A shoulder strap is attached to a decoy bag segment and is hung over the user's shoulder. Cavities created between each of the adjacent bag segments are capable of enveloping the handbag holder's hand. When an extraordinary pulling force is exerted upon a decoy bag segment or segments, they will separate from the adjacent valuables bag segment or segments and said valuables bag segment or segments will be retained against or between the handbag holder's hand and body.
