  • Patent number: 10401916
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for preventing a display component of a portable information handling system from opening when in an upside down position. The portable information handling system may include a base component coupled to the display component by a gravity lockout hinge. The gravity lockout hinge may include a shaft, a bearing channel having a bearing channel surface opposite the shaft, and a movable bearing disposed in the bearing channel. The gravity lockout hinge may, when the portable information handling system is in an upside down position and a gravitational force is exerted on the display component, exert a first frictional torque on the shaft that may cause the movable bearing to contact the shaft and the bearing channel surface, and exert a second frictional torque on the shaft that may prevent an angular position of the display component relative to the base component from being changed.

  • Patent number: 9982726
Abstract: Means for restricting the axial displacement of a clutch retainer (11a) with respect to a metal inner ring (3a) is configured so that the amount of processing of the inner ring (3a) is reduced. Semispherical concave engaging sections (22) are formed in the cam surface (6) of the inner ring (3a), and semispherical convex engaging sections (23) are formed on the inner-circumferential surface of a rim section (12b) of the clutch retainer (11a). The means for restricting the axial displacement of a clutch retainer (11a) with respect to a metal inner ring (3a) is achieved by engagement between the concave engaging sections (22) and the convex engaging sections (23) when the clutch retainer (11a) is assembled on the outer-diameter side of the cam surface (6).

Abstract: A free wheel with rolling bodies provides an inner ring, an outer ring, a plurality of rolling bodies, positioned in an annular space arranged radially between the inner and outer rings, and a cage for keeping the rolling bodies in position. The cage defines individual receiving housings for the rolling bodies. The free wheel has elastic retaining members for keeping the rolling bodies in their housings, each member having least two tongues that come into contact with two rolling bodies positioned in two adjacent housings of the cage. The tongues positioned on either side of a housing delimit an opening there-between through which a rolling body rolls on a track of a first ring. The width of the opening, measured in an orthoradial direction with respect to a relative axis of rotation of the inner and outer rings, has a value smaller than the diameter of the rolling bodies.

  • Patent number: 9033851
Abstract: A motor drive assembly can prevent a two-way roller clutch of the current speed ratio and a two-way roller clutch of the next speed ratio from engaging simultaneously, and includes a first-speed friction plate formed with engaging protrusions on the first-speed side, and a shift ring formed with engaging recesses. While the shift ring is in a first-speed shift position SP1f, the engaging protrusions are adapted to be engaged in the engaging recesses, thereby preventing rotation of the shift ring relative to the first-speed friction plate. The shift ring is provided with projections on its inner periphery. The drive assembly further includes an annular protrusion formed with cutouts. When the projections are axially and circumferentially displaced from the respective cutouts, the projections are adapted to interfere with the annular protrusion, thereby preventing axial movement of the shift ring between the first-speed shift position SP1f and a second-speed shift position SP2f.

  • Patent number: 8813930
Abstract: A one-way clutch includes multiple rollers, a first collar and a second collar that are concentric and rotate relatively to each other, and a circular holding frame. The first collar has multiple cavities each having an inclined bottom surface. The circular holding frame has multiple slots corresponding to the rollers and exposing the cavities. The second collar is rotated to drive the circular holding frame rotating through friction force so that each roller is pushed to contact a higher portion of the inclined bottom surface and also the second collar drives the first collar rotating via pushing of the rollers. When rotational speed of the first collar is greater than that of the second collar, each roller enters a lower portion of the inclined bottom surface and separates from the second collar without transmitting torsional force between the second collar and first collar.

  • Patent number: 8292053
Abstract: A one-way clutch includes an inner ring, an outer ring disposed coaxially with the inner ring, a plurality of rollers interposed between the inner and outer rings, a cage holding the rollers to locate these rollers in a circumferential direction of the inner and outer rings. When the rollers are brought into biting engagement with an outer peripheral surface of the inner ring and an inner peripheral surface of the outer ring, the inner and outer rings rotate in unison, and when the rollers are disposed out of biting engagement with the inner and outer rings, the inner and outer rings rotate relative to each other.
