By Cam Surface On Bell-crank Patents (Class 192/70.24)
  • Patent number: 8490769
Abstract: A electromagnetic clutch assembly for use in a vehicle is presented. More specifically, the clutch assembly comprises an input member; an output member; a friction clutch pack having a first plurality of clutch plates coupled for rotation with said input member and a second plurality of clutch plates interleaved with said first plurality of clutch plates and coupled for rotation with said output member; a solenoid coil; an actuator hub having an armature plate; and a cam lever assembly having a first end engaging said actuator hub and a second end engaging said friction clutch pack. When electrical current is applied to the solenoid coil, the armature plate moves the actuator hub, the actuator hub engages the cam lever and causes said cam lever to compress the interleaved first and second plurality of clutch plates, thereby, resulting in the coupling of the input and output members.

  • Patent number: 7753173
Abstract: A power divider for motor vehicles includes a housing, a primary shaft and a secondary shaft, wherein a friction clutch having an outer part that is rigidly connected to the primary shaft, and an inner part, derives torque from the primary shaft and delivers the torque to the secondary shaft by means of the inner part and a displacement drive. To ensure a sufficient supply of lubrication oil under all conditions, an oil reservoir, which at least partially surrounds the ramp ring, is fixed in the housing between the coupling and the displacement drive. The base of the oil reservoir comprises at least one opening, which is adjacent to the upper part of the periphery of the ramp ring, and the oil reservoir has at least one guiding device that extends into the centrifugal area of the displacement drive, through which the centrifuged lubrication oil is received in the reservoir.

  • Publication number: 20100089679
Abstract: A friction plate (131) rotates in association with rotation of a pressure plate (77). A first pressing plate (132) presses the friction plate (131) to the right to move the pressure plate (77) to the right. A second pressing plate (133) receives a torque of the pressure plate (77) via the friction plate (131). A slide shaft (231) rotates together with the second pressing plate (133). The operation assist mechanism (220) gives a rightward force to the pressure plate (77), by the slide shaft (231) moving to the right upon receiving the torque from the second pressing plate (133). Balls (135) transmit a portion of the rightward force of the short push rod (43a) to the slide shaft (231) without use of the friction plate (131).

  • Patent number: 7350630
Abstract: An embodiment of the present invention involves a drive apparatus with a housing, a first and second axle mounted in the housing and a ring gear located within the housing. A brake clutch mechanism is located on each axle with a drive clutch assembly for selectively coupling the each axle with the ring gear, a brake assembly for selectively coupling each axle with the housing and a cam block located between the drive clutch assemblies and the brake assemblies to selectively engage each drive assembly or brake assembly. A cam shaft is also rotatably mounted in each cam block and rotatably affixed to the housing.

  • Patent number: 6988604
Abstract: An electromagnetic clutch especially adapted for use in motor vehicle power trains includes a multiple plate friction clutch pack acted upon (compressed) by a ball ramp operator. The ball ramp operator includes two adjacent plates having opposed pairs of arcuate ramped recesses which receive a load transferring member such as a ball or roller bearing. Relative rotation of the plates is achieved through a worm gear drive from a bi-directional electric motor. Such relative rotation causes separation of the plates and compression of the friction clutch pack which transfers torque from the input to the output of the electromagnetic clutch.

  • Patent number: 6886679
Abstract: An axial setting device having two discs (24, 29) which are rotatable relative to one another, which are supported coaxially relative to one another and between which there are guided balls (35) in pairs of ball grooves (34, 39) whose depth varies across the circumference. One of the discs (24, 29) is axially supported and one is axially displaceable against elastic returning forces of first spring (33). At least one of the discs can be driven by a motor (11) via a gear drive. During the return movement of the discs (24, 29) after the balls (35) have reached their end position in the ball grooves, which end position is defined by the greatest groove depth, a second spring permits overshooting of the drivable disc (24) together with the disc (29) supported with respect to rotation against elastic returning forces of the second spring.
